    Bacon, Tomato, Avocado, Eggs Benedict

Love this place! It's one of our favorite places for breakfast! Staff is friendly and outdoor seating is perfect for beautiful Maui days. Our favorite is the Bacon, Tomato, Avocado,Eggs Beni. They have a variety of fresh pastries which goes fast so go early before they run out!

No dinners for the immediate future. The chef is gone to France. Breakfasts are still great.

    Bacon, tomato, avo benedict

Considering half the menu is Eggs Benedict, I expected a perfect one. I ordered the bacon, tomato, and avo benedict. Unfortunately the poached eggs were underdone and the potatoes that came with the dish were overcooked. The lilikoi vinaigrette that comes on the side salad was not anything special. Food was just okay, but I don't think for its price at almost $26 is worth it. Pretty views from the outdoor seating area! I think the "please wait to be seated" sign should be removed if they tell you to just sit yourself anyway. The two girls taking orders were fine. They also take cash, check, and venmo only.

We loved this beautiful little place after a morning on Haleakala. We stopped in intending to have lunch but didn't realize on Sundays they only have a brunch menu. So we adjusted our expectations and still had some delightful food. I got the crab cake benedict - which they brought out wrong at first and the waitress was SO overly kind about making it right when it wasn't that big of a deal. So definitely kudos on the customer service. Everything is served with a fresh salad with a bright citrus dressing that my husband and I both really enjoyed. My benedict had tons of flavor and the amount of crab was a great portion size. We sat out on the garden patio and it was just overall a lovely experience with the island breeze blowing through. Also, they take cash check or Venmo for payment, we used Venmo and it was super quick and easy!

Food is well Prepared and flavorful. Service is accommodating to BYOB, with appropriate glasses. Great Patio dining with small tables for an intimate setting.

Beautiful outdoor seating under covered lanai. Very friendly service! Delicious crepes, Benedict's, fresh baked goods & coffees. Enjoyed it all!

Amazing pastries!! Found it sort of by accident driving to coffee chocolate tour. Regular menu looks great as well. Will try and go back for sure.

If you're craving real-deal French pastries on Maui, or just looking for a treat upcountry, La Provence in Kula is the spot. Get there early for the best selection, bring Venmo, cash, or a check (NO credit or debit cards), and be prepared to wait in line....worth it, most definitely. All the baked goods are as delicious as they are beautiful, but I especially love the quiches and the pain au chocolat. I haven't been there for lunch (yet), so can't comment on those menu items. Plenty of parking in the empty lot next door.

We were in the area and you know we had to stop for a Salad Nicoise (with grilled Mahi) and hubby got Mahi sandwich. My apple tart was the perfect ending to my lunch. The Filo crust was light, airy, and crunchy. It was the perfect bed for the perfectly cooked apples with jam. Nothing beats a bakery that makes its own breads and desserts. Freshness can't be beat! PSA: this is a cash only establishment.

The manager worked to accommodate us anyway, which was really nice. Our waitress was really friendly and knowledgeable- she also took excellent care of the kids in our group! The food was just incredible. We had sliders, the fish special, the steak, a beet salad, and a chow mein type appetizer. All of it was really good! Also want to shout out the Mai Tais and Espresso Martinis - you can't go wrong if you order them!! This place has some of the best views on the island. It's pricey because of it's quality ingredients, professional staff, and an overall wonderful experience for dining. We will be back again on a trip to Maui in the future.

However, shortly after, a second hostess requested that we move to another table, stating it was reserved for a special menu with names that were not visible. This surprised all six of us, and we expressed our frustration, feeling somewhat biased in the situation. The server apologized and assured us that she would bring the floor manager to address the issue. The floor manager arrived and personally seated us at a table next to the oceanfront, where we had originally been placed. He committed to overseeing our service, which made a significant difference. Our server, Tim, played a crucial role in transforming our experience. He worked diligently to alleviate the initial negative impression and provided exceptional service that we will remember. A special thanks to Tim, who, along with the floor manager, offered complimentary appetizers and desserts, enhancing our dining experience. Overall, Merriman's proved to be a great place to dine, with excellent food and beverages. Tim's outstanding service truly made us feel valued and special. Thank you, Tim!

However, as a vegetarian, I felt like we really just had one option for our entrée. We ended up getting full off starters and sides. The only main we could really do was the mushroom pot pie. It was good and comforting, just not anything super memorable. Lastly, I don't mind spending on a nice meal, but a few things felt a little pricey for what they were. For example, the tomato and blue cheese salad with capers was $25, which felt a little steep for essentially five slices of tomato. That being said, everything tasted very fresh and the quality of ingredients was definitely there. Overall, still a good experience, especially because of the service.

I don't know what I'll do if I lose Nick's Maui. But I dither, Nick's Fishmarket Maui is in an incredible location inside the Fairmont Kea Lani and it's setting alone would be enough to pull me back even if the food was just okay. Thankfully the food is MUCH better than "just okay", it is generally outstanding. I rotate starters and salads because there are so many great choices. The Caesar Salad is about as good as they get, but I really, really like the Maui Greek Salad. With at least four people we start with the Seafood Tower, but find it just too big for two of us. Other than that the Kalua Pig Pot Stickers, Charred Octopus, Crab Cakes and Blackened Ahi are the starters I rotate through. For my Main, I am less eclectic. I have a hard time getting away from the Diver Scallops and Scampi. I have tried other dishes, the Abalone, Kona Lobster and Ribeye (I know, I know, who orders steak in a seafood restaurant), but I keep coming back to. For Dessert, I am also in a rut, but I love desserts they set on fire and in this case it is Bananas Foster. I do sneak bites off my DW's Creme Brulee, as does off my BF. The service is terrific, attentive without being intrusive. I used to joke about the Chicago store that if you knocked a spoon off the table someone would catch it before it hit the floor. The Maui service isn't quite that attentive and I am not sure I would want it to be.

We also ordered the B&B ahi which was also delicious and fresh and ever so slightly seared. Both are worth the trip and the money. From there we started to feel like second class citizens. Hubs ordered the lamb while I had mahi mahi tacos (I didn't have a huge appetite). I would not order the tacos again. Table next to us raved about them and although the tortilla and the fish were fresh, the 'blackened' seasoning did me in. Overkill on a nicely cooked piece of fish - hard pass. Lamb, although cooked properly, (and I thought interestingly presented but) hubs is a meat guy and felt all the additions - sauce, relish, goat cheese - was overkill. Have to also say he didn't enjoy the waiter taking his knife to hand prepare a bite the way he thought it should be eaten. We barely saw him after that which further soured the experience. He vanished after the big ticket part of the meal (the 82$ lamb) and mentioned a comped panna cotta for our anniversary after we'd ordered a paid desert. Oops we owe you that next time (but you'll take our money today) Our food runner was great! Super upbeat, always with a smile. Bar area was relatively quiet until it wasn't. We wouldn't spend $350 this way again but would sit at the bar for sashimi and bounce.
