La Roca is by far the #1 mexican restaurant in my heart. The kind customer service and the AUTHENTIC mexican food. There are so many mexican food places with Americanized Mexican food...This place is 100% authentic. The portions arent massive, just perfect. Except the burritos...If you are really hungry- go for a super burrito or a taco salad or the fajitas (dont even get me started on the fajitas-sooooo goood)..If you are suuuuuper hungry go for the super grande- i dare you to finish. Definitely above average fare. Even the vegetarian dishes here are better than at most Mexican restaurants. I highly recommend the vegetarian burrito - fresh, complex, and filling. The only shortcoming is the wait staff, who aren't very attentive and seem to have no personality. But it's a small problem that the food makes up for. read more

Well. I'm rating it based on its category of "traditional" Mexican food in America. Very similar to Puerto Vallarta restaurant we at at yesterday. That restaurant is on the north end of Lincoln City. La Roca's decor is very basic. I'd say a clean dingy. Nothing fancy. No nice art. Staff was welcoming, but stressed out. The salsa that accompanied the free tortilla chips was spicy and more spicy. Kids couldn't eat it. Guacamole isn't freshly made. Horchata was good, but a bit too sweet for us. Standard fare refried beans with lots of lard. Large portions. I had their pork fajitas. This is a wonderful little "hole in the wall" authentic Mexican restaurant. The owners-operators are Mexican. Latinos frequent the restaurant and enjoy the many offerings on the menu. This place may look like a hole in the wall, but it's one of the best restaurants on the Oregon Coast. I love coming here anytime I'm in Lincoln City. There's this big burger monstrosity I get that's basically a foot-long hoagie bun with 6 burger patties on it with all the trimmings of a great cheeseburger. The burger patties are the thin, McDonald's-esque variety, but this is still a delicious (and filling) meal. Great atmosphere as well. My daughter found this place on Yelp and it is far and away the best food I have had in Lincoln City. I wasn't wild about the red salsa but t the green more than made up for it. Our entrees were excellent--the best chili relleno I have ever tasted. I am trying to figure out how to justify eating here again on our short 3 day trip! Definitely worth a try. read more

Ordered the steak burrito and carnitas burritos (super burritos w/only one meat instead of three). The steak burrito was honestly not very good but the carnitas burrito wAs to die for! I've become somewhat of a regular here and it's a little frustrating when you order the same thing every time and it is different every time.. portion are either huge or tiny. The recipe seems to always be different as well. Consistency is key with any restaurant. Today I ordered a veggie burrito with peppers and onions sautéed in and was given a child's size burrito with rice, beans, pico, and lettuce. The Burrito came in the same box as the rice and beans so it wasn't a quick, hands on meal like I needed. Finding good food in this town is not easy and I know what you guys are capable of making! I don't want to write this place off yet but the inconsistency in the food needs to be figured out. read more

Oregon is, in general, a desert wasteland for Mexican cuisine. Most of the stuff here that passes for "Mexican food" would choke anyone from Louisiana to Southern Cal. La Roca, however, is at least somewhat authentic. Most of the food is average, at best, but I discovered I really enjoyed the chicken chile relleno (something I haven't seen elsewhere, but tasty) and the tacos. Avoid the enchiladas. I highly recommend if you go there to order tacos. They are not the crispy Taco Bell type, they are 2 soft corn tortillas filled with your choice of meat, onions, cilantro, lime and salsa. Very tasty - especially the "tacos de lengua". If you've never eaten cow's tongue before treat yourself to some lengua at La Roca. It tastes like a flavorful beef roast that is very tender and tasty. Plus, you can brag to your friends later about what an adventurous eater you are without having to eat anything funky! This place is another dive, but probably the best Mexican food in Lincoln City - which ain't sayin' much... read more

We stumbled on this place while exploring Lincoln City while on vacation last weekend. We loved the food and the service and very reasonable prices. My boyfriend raved about the beans they serve with the salsa and chips so much that he ordered more! We will definitely be back whenever we are on vacation in the area! Based on reviews from Yelp we gave La Roca a shot and were rewarded with fantastic food. My wife and I ordered combination plates so we could try lots of different items and were not disappointed with any of them. The mole sauce they put on the enchiladas and tamales is rich and fantastic. Best Mexican food I've had at the coast. Pure win. read more
