    Combination Plate #2
    Corinna P.

Wanted to try this new spot so me and my bestie headed over for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Greeted and seated immediately upon entering. Waitress was very friendly and she quickly took our drinks order and brought us complimentary chips and salsa that were very tasty. My friend ordered the Chile Relleno's Plate which she says was very good. I had the Combination Plate #2 which included a taco, enchilada, tamale and a Chile Relleno alongside some beans and rice and a sopaipilla. My plate was very Delicious and I enjoyed every bite of it ending it perfectly with a fluffy Sopaipilla - it literally can't get better than that. The only thing I didn't enjoy was my agua de Melón (Melón water). It really was tasteless and/or water down. Everything else was delightful. Prices were fair and bathroom was clean. Would definitely come back.

This location has been a challenge. Finally decided to try the latest restaurant. Basic Mexican cuisine with a nice variety on the menu. I had the special not on the menu - chicharron burrito. I had the green chile on the side, and that was a smart move. My wife wanted quesadillas, but they are not on the menu. She substituted cheese enchiladas - three small quesadillas folded over that could have been sold as quesadillas. The sopapillas were very small. Guacamole not made on site. Nice, friendly service. Outdoor seating, but it was too hot outside today - inside is nicely air-conditioned. Not sure I will try them again with so many alternatives available in our local area. Saw a sign in the window that they are applying for a liquor license.

Great tasting food! Ordered the combo #2 which came with a crunchy homemade taco, cheese enchilada, tamale and chili relleno. All delicious and so excited to come back and try other plates.

I'm on a personal quest to find the best smothered burrito in town but for some reason I passed and chose a Combo Plate no. 1. I wanted to try a sampling of as much as I could and I wasn't disappointed. Absolutely the best New Mexican food I've had (aside from my wife's) in a very long time. Everything was flavorful and prepared perfectly. Ingredients were fresh and tasted great! Definitely going back for more. Highly recommend.

    My recommendation.

Absolute worst service I have ever encountered in my life. Amanda does not have an ounce of customer service skill in her or just simply does not want to be working there. She only did what she wanted, she was inconvenienced by any request, she was rude, condescending and had the nerve to charge us an additional 20% gratuity for it. (According to her parties of 5 or more get an automatic 20% gratuity.) I really thought we were being pranked. Honestly our experience was a joke! If she stays there I can't imagine this place will last long. There are plenty other mediocre restaurants that charge you a lot less without testing your patience.

Huevos rancheros. Scrambled eggs(don't judge me)

Service was great! Why was this place empty? Food was delicious and flavorful. We ordered the skillet breakfast and huevos rancheros. All were very good! Will definitely go here again and I hope they stick around.

Make sure you take the time to walk around and see the entire property--it is HUGE! It feels like you're stepping into a beautiful Spanish-style hacienda, yet it still manages to feel warm, homey, and down-to-earth. The restaurant is very spacious, has beautiful areas for events, and is also dog-friendly. We made reservations, and I definitely recommend doing the same--you NEED them! We were seated right away, and our server was attentive, friendly, and made our experience even more enjoyable. Now, the food! I loved that you can order your chile "Christmas" style and get both red and green. And FYI--endless chips and salsa! The margaritas were strong and delicious, exactly how a margarita should be. I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas. The chicken was moist, tender, and perfectly shredded. The tacos were also great, and the mole chicken was delicious. My only wish is that the menu offered a few more seafood options. Between the atmosphere, great service, delicious food, and margaritas, El Pinto was such a fun New Mexico experience. If you make it to New Mexico, El Pinto absolutely needs to be on your list of places to visit!

My parents lived in ABQ for years and always thought that the atmosphere was great, but the food was so-so. However, on this instance, we all thought the food was quite good. Flavorful carne adovada, although it was a bit tough. Red chile sauce was spicy but had great flavor. The green chile sauce was hot and tasty. Posole was also good. The gold margaritas were also good - to anyone complaining about the price - at $14.50, the price is very fair considering the cost of ingredients. If you want a cheap junk margarita that is more sugar than anything else, go somewhere else! Our gripe... The place is huge and has an abundance of great places to seat guests. We had a pretty large group - 7 people celebrating a family reunion of sorts. However, they sat us right next to the bussing station that had noisy carts, dishwashers, and other distractions. It was so loud, it was hard to hear the person across the table. There were at least 10 other tables that they could have seated us at! It seems to me that this area should be used only when the restaurant is completely full. This seems to be a poor management decision rather than the fault of the servers or hosts.

Right when we arrived we were greeted by 2 lovely ladies who asked us if we wanted to sit indoors or out in the patio. Since it was relatively hot that day we opted to sit inside. My sister ordered the Posole that day but was told later that they were out so she ended up only having a coffee and some Biscochitos which she said were good. For me the choice was a little tougher since I'm way more picky with my food. The menu didn't have too much that was appealing to me so I went with the Chicken Enchilada Casserole. While we waited they brought out some chips with a mild tomato based salsa that was OK but the real winner was another salsa that one of the gals brought me on the side. That green salsa was hot and delicious just needed a tad more salt. I finally got my entree. The plate was super small - smaller than any plate I have ever gotten at any restaurant ever. Probably a little bigger than the plate you get your toast on at a breakfast restaurant but I digress. The Enchiladas were OK but what was really delicious were the calabacitas with corn and the side of beans. So much good flavor. The sopaipillas were OK too. Not the best I've had but definitely not the worse. Overall it was an interesting lunch spot and the staff was super friendly

Wildly different while still being so freaking amazing. There's a certain spice or something that they use in the Birria that hits just right. That's the only true way I can explain it. I can't tell if the 'consume' is chili or what from here? At Los Pookies it seems to be like a broth, but here is a thicker & spicier sauce which compliments the tacos so well. (please let me know!). It gets quite busy in here especially with it being setup as more of a sports bar, with the TV's and such. They have a shaded patio which I believe also may have a TV* (don't quote me on this part) . All the servers I have had have shown great hospitality. I will continue to return. -- Follow up before I post.. Was not crispy, cubed chicken inside was dry, was hoping for some guac but only came with some tomato tasting salsa. Here's the thing for the nachos. The ingredients individually were good, you can tell it's quality. However all together the flavors did not mesh well. Had queso, shredded cheese and Cojita. The asada was tender and good but the red sauce they make and put on top was not very good. Can't say I'll be rushing back anytime soon. Especially for the cost. But is a cool place to hang out at the bar for a drink.

The management needs to realize that not everyone who walks in the door is a devoteé of fiery food, and the salsa with the chips was very much too hot, even for my friend who loves "hot stuff." Not only that, but it is "sweet" and has a very different and unpleasant taste. My chicken burrito was dry and the tortilla wrapping the chicken was so tough that I had to use a knife to cut the bites. The beans are really good, and I enjoyed them (I don't eat rice, so I got to eat a double dose). Even the sopapilla was so tough I couldn't bite it---I had to tear off pieces to be able to eat it.
