Decide was rather slow for there only being 2 other tables occupied. Took about 7-8 minutes before they came to our table and took order, chips were stale and salsa was very bland with onion being the only flavor that I detected. Husband ordered a beef taco salad and said the beef was cold but had a good flavor. I had the shrimp chimichanga and was disappointed because it was very bland and tasteless(but hot). This is the 2 nd time we have been here but I have heard they have new owners so only time will tell.

Things started out promising when the chips came out warm. The salsa is made on-site and is decent. There about 10 different Tacos, about the same for Burritos, and about 8 kinds of Chimis. Pretty broad selection of other things also. I had the Beef Chimi and my wife went for a Taco Salad, and opted to add the eatable bowl. She decided to have the Street Corn also. Have to say everything was oversized (read - enough for second meal, or at least a snack). The Taco Salad had minimal lettuce, and lots of meat and cheese. The Chimi was stuffed with stuff and civet in cheese. We loved everything. Good blend of tastes and textures. We look forward to returning and exploring the menu more. We stopped by this place before going out to Hollywood Amphitheater. The restaurant has construction going on during dinner time. The placed smelled like dirty mop water. The service was not bad. It did not seem many people are in but plenty of of carry outs going on. The food was just ok. I probably would never go back. The night ended with stomach problems. Lets start with the salsa, it was runny with no flavor. Queso was not to bad. The Kitchen sink burrito was greasy. The street corn quesadilla my wife couldn't even finish it. The food was plenty with large portion.

Ordered this place on Uber Eats since late night food options in the area are non-existent. I ordered the quesabirria with consomme and street corn. Overall the flavor of the food was pretty good but it was extremely greasy! The tacos were accompanied with a side of verde salsa, cilantro, & onions. The meat was cooked well and could have been seasoned a tad bit more. I was disappointed that they considered these to be birria tacos. I've had authentic birria in and know the consomme should be a broth...theirs was straight up grease! The street corn also had a good flavor but was very greasy as well! It's like they poured the leftover oil from the pan over the food before packing it up. If you're interested in ordering either of these items, just let them know to hold the grease next time.

I was craving Mexican food while in town and found this place not far from my hotel in Maryland Heights. Outside of the restaurant was a taco truck that had street tacos, which I thought was a little odd, but I guess they are separate businesses even though the street tacos are on the menu. It is seat yourself, and it was about 8 mins before we were greeted and brought chips and salsa. Then our waiter came and took our drink order. I tried to ask about what was in the margarita, but there was a language barrier. We ordered queso, and it was NOT GOOD. It had a sweet taste almost like pineapple, I almost thought that it was cream cheese with pineapple added to cheese. It was thick, and the chips were thin and broke off in the cheese. Our food didn't take long to come out. My enchiladas were OK, I have had better and had worse. I will say that the enchilada sauce is spicy! So, if you can't tolerate spicy, then don't order these!! The beans and rice were plain, I usually like adding salsa to the beans and rice but the salsa wasn't very good either. The 2 people that ordered tacos thought there were just OK. The only one who really enjoyed their food was my daughter, who had the beef quesdilla. I tasted it and it was really good, greasy but good, great flavor. That is the only reason I gave the second star. No napkins were given to us with our meals, I had to ask for them and he brought out exactly 4 napkins which is how many people we had at our table! These were not thick napkins. I could have used at least 3 myself. So when I asked for more, the server seemed reluctant to bring more. He did eventually but only exactly 4 more, which is ridiculous!! The server was good about refilling our drinks though. But besides that an the quesdilla, I think I would have had a better experience at taco bell and cheaper. Almost$40 just for my daughter and I, not worth it. Wouldn't return very disappointing

Puffy Taco with wet soppy bottom. Yuck. Wet lettuce put in shell first. Cheese dip was good.

We were here a few weeks back and the salsa was so good. Their hot salsa was fresh and so spicy. Their house salsa was not runny or too chunky. Chips were hot and not too salty. I had their kitchen sink burrito and it was enough for 3 meals. My husband had the tacos, they were just OK. We will be back for more salsa and to try other items on the menu!

Pretty underwhelming food, especially for the price. Plenty of other places around that are much better for a lot less.

When I moved to STL well over a decade ago I bemoaned the lack of good Latin American food. I have since found a lot of good places that I love but I didn't realize til I was eating my lunch how big a gap was still there. I ordered tacos al pastor -- a favorite since I was in Sonora years ago and ate them multiple days in a row cause this street vendor was amazing. I order them a decent frequency but I now realize I haven't been truly satisfied til today. Seriously, I am wondering how quickly I will be back because these were incredible. Al pastor is a unique flavor profile and it goes in-depth, these folks GET IT! I took a bite and absolutely closed my eyes as I chewed because this was the al pastor I so often miss. I ordered two tacos al pastor and one asada. They came the Mexican way, simple onion and cilantro which I asked to clarify as recently I ordered street tacos and found them served with lettuce and cheese and was not happy. These were perfect. The steak was good but man I needed those al pastor tacos! Two would have been plenty and at $3 each what an inexpensive lunch! Other reviews mention lots of the other things that touch on the restaurant: - they have sections by country for Salvadoran, Honduran & Mexican foods - customers are mostly Central American, a combination of families and work crews - it is Spanish speaking by and large for staff and customers. - it's bare bones, simple tables and chairs, coolers with drinks and very few bottles behind the bar/register - chips were good (thick not too salty) with red and green sauces, the green was a bit hot for me but I mixed a bit into the red. I am so going back and hope to stay in the minority with English as my first language. They speak the language of slow cooked flavor!

Service was perfectly fine, had I been thinking I would have used Google translate to help us through. Honestly I could also quit being lazy and learn Spanish lol. I'll 100% be back to this one. It's a decent sized place, and we didn't have any issues seating 3 right away around lunch time. Clean and the food was out quick :)

I've tried the churrasco nica, pollo frito, and chancho asado, and every single dish has been beyond spectacular. I'm from Los Angeles, and people told me I'd have a hard time finding great food out here, but Fritanga proves them wrong. It's exactly what you want from a small, family-owned restaurant: excellent service, flavorful food, affordable prices (steak dinner + sides for under 20$ is a steal), a fun atmosphere, and genuinely friendly staff. I even planned a 17-person celebration dinner here (with some of those people from LA) and got to work directly with Orlando, the owner. He was responsive, welcoming, and went out of his way to make the night special, even celebrating with us. Everyone loved it. I walked in and decided bar seating looked best so I could watch tv. I was immediately given water, menus, and some time to decide. The dish comes with steak, black beans, pico, white rice, jack cheese, and maduros. I think most dishes can be customized, but rest assured they're nothing short of flavor! Since I was one of few people, my dish came out rather quickly. The steak was tender and flavorful; the rice was seasoned perfectly and the maduros were fried to perfection. They have a fair amount of indoor seating without the tables being too close. Also there is an outdoor patio which is where we sat. The smell of the food had my stomach putting on makeup and eyelashes...we were about to throw down! I chatted with a gentleman that was picking up food for his entire crew (it had to be about 20-30 to go containers). I asked him what his favorite item was and he said he and his coworkers love the Carne Asada. Enough said!
