I love this restaurant. Sadly I hate the delivery apps. If you go in person they will make sure that you get your order your way and you will be disappointed. When I saw you could get it delivered, it was the answer to my prayers because I was on strict bed rest but still craved tacos. I have ordered them three times. Each time I have added comments asking for the essential sides and toppings and each time I got delivered the correct type and amount of tacos but no toppings. Don't know why they allow for you to write special requests if they are not going to read them. If I was lucky, they threw in some salsa. No limes, no onions, no cilantro, and forget about getting any guacamole. So sad I could cry. Ok, update! I attempted a fourth order but I called the restaurant and let them know that I would be placing an order. I told them about needing all the fixings and they understood that the app for delivery is lacking. They worked with me though. We agreed I would order a carne asada taco alone specifying in the notes that this was for a side order of guacamole. When the delivery arrived, I was so happy. I took my mom and my little sister to eat at this place. First we ordered tacos, I asked for pastor the lady suggested adobada convincing me to change my order. My mom then put in her order, asked for two carne asada tacos plain. All the tacos served to us were plain. No, cilantro or onions. She had asked for guacamole, the lady informed her it will be at the salsa bar. There was no guacamole. My mom and sister ordered a sprite and Diet Coke my mom took a drink of her diet soda and it was awful. We told the man who poured the drink he told two other people who then went to the soda machine and both wasted two cups to try the soda. The lady says the guy says the soda is good. My mom drinks diet soda on a daily basis and could recognize the Diet Coke should not taste like that. My mom then suggest to give her a canned soda which is $1.25 less than the soda we paid for. I asked the lady to refund me. I also had to give my tacos back to ask for cilantro and onions on my taco. By the way I ended up having to wipe off my table because every available table was dirty. It sucks to go to a restaurant and expect the minimum of okay service and end up having to go back and forth with the employees. When you just want to sit down eat and get out. Menu is simple and straight forward. I just wish they could offer frijolitos and cebollitas... that would be give them the 5 stars! Tacos are 1.45 (last time I went) they have around 10 different types of meats, they also offer quesadillas and mulas... all delicious! You arrive, go to the register and place your order... you can see how they prepare your tacos with freshly hand made tortillas and good hygiene! BF and I always go to the same taco place, but tonight we wanted to try a new spot and stopped here because of the reviews and how close to home it is. We ordered 7 tacos and a mulita for $20- not bad! The cashier gave me our order and we went home to find the order completely incorrect. I called and explained the situation and asked if we could go back to get our correct order, but half way through I noticed she's not paying attention and talking to someone else. She returns to the call and just repeats "yes" a few times. We went back with the food and receipt in hand and the cashier was visibly irritated. (All of her part was said in Spanish, I understand it all but can't speak fluently) She told us we took the wrong order and someone else took our order. Ok, can we please have our order? She repeats annoyedly, "YOU took the wrong order". She grabs a mulita and says that's all she had ready for our order. We ask her to please just make our order, she turns to a worker and says she doesn't understand me, then she turns back to me and says, "Now I have to pay for this!". Ok, we're sorry. She's ruffling through the receipts and at this point I'm so irritated with her I say I just want the money back. She doesn't understand or doesn't hear me and has the kitchen start our order again. BF watches them just in case we got something extra. YUM!! I am from Illinois so I am not used to being so...how do I put this...close to the border. It definitely opens up different restaurant choices that they don't offer in the prairie state. It's a quaint little place without much decor or flare. But don't be put off by the lack of decor. The food is decor of it own. My husband and I ordered chicken burritos and I was so excited to be able to put as much guacamole as I wanted on it! Places never give me enough. Not the best tacos, but it kind of gets the job done. Not a big fan how the adobada/pastor is made, does not have the texture from being in the rotating burning steak . Which is a must for me! Each taco is $1.60 any meat. They do have mulitas for : $3.75 This was average and this being the only thing I finished. It was Carne asada. Place is small, needs a little more attention to cleaning down the tables and filing up the salsa bar. I guess I have a better expectation of street tacos, coming from TJ. And also trying out Tacos El Gordo in SD. Which I would drive to if it was not too far away from home... I don't see myself coming back. It was worth the shot. read more

This is the worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to in my life. The staff actually made me feel uncomfortable because I'm not Mexican. They purposely messed up on our order because we don't speak Spanish and when we asked them if we could change it they laughed in our face and said they wouldn't change our tripes tacos to el pastor because it's our fault. I lived in Mexico for 2 years. This is like being in Mexico. I ate The Best Tacos I have had in resent memory at the Escondido location. It was 102 degrees outside the place looked like it was a page from Mexico. I had Chorizo, Fish and BBQ Tacos. Over the TOP ! ! ! Over all the establishment is easy to find and there is ample parking, the only flaw that stands out the most is that a big majority of the tables don't get cleaned regularly. The floor isn't any better as there is trash under the tables, service is average. The tacos are average at best, it wouldn't hurt to improve there seasonings a little bit but with prices like $1.60 / taco there really isn't anything to complain about. Word of advive be careful while ordering things could get expensive quick. There assortment of hot sauces is good, just a bit messy from customer's who are a little careless. This place does tacos right. Their Al Pastor is so juicy and succulent, the asada, fish and carnitas are delicious and they have plenty of traditional Mexican tacos for the adventurous (tripas, lengua, etc). We literally eat here twice a week. I don't know how they stay in business since it's only $2 a taco. Highly recommended. read more
