Not very impressed. BF and I were craving street tacos so we stopped by. Ordered Carne Asada, Carnitas, and Adobada. Tacos were a decent size, carne asada had good flavor. BUT we were expecting typical "dry" carnitas and adobada, instead we got watery, juicy stuff like birria. Did not hit the spot!! Ruined my craving. Tacos were on the pricier side at 1.60 each. If you go stick with the basic carne asada, you wont be disappointed. Doubt we'll return. read more

Came here last Wednesday at 6 pm and I was so disappoint. I ordered 25 tacos half were adobada, I paid and waited 10 minutes and then they tell me they ran out of adobada, WHAT!!! They got the best tacos in north county. I had the lengua ( beef tounge) they were amazing!! Alpastor are good to although they can be too greasy. Ohh and can't forget the mulas, cheesy goodness!! read more

Lady at the counter was so rude- we come here every weekend to get Menudo and Tacos de birria- weve never been treated so rudely..she was in a bad mood yelling at an other customer about their tortillas being up- then tells us we have to get Menudo a certain way when we are always given the option- rather lose guest then allow a special request on a plate we always have an option for- way to treat your regulars!!!! She should consider maybe working somewhere else where she dosent have to deal w people or schduele her during less busy times- cant handle the stress!!! read more

The tacos here are almost as good as Tacos el gordo in san diego. North County needs a Tacos El Gordo but for now La Takiza is the next best thing when it comes to TJ Style Tacos. The reason I give this place only 3 stars is because they are so disorganized when they give you your order. Basically they say "ya estan sus tacos de asada" but the thing is 10 other customers also ordered tacos de asada and people will take your order thinking it's thiers. These carne asada tacos are the best in town! Vista has a ton of Mexican food places and this one is the most authentic. The meat is marinated to perfection and the corn tortillas are made right in front of you. Yum! The salsa bar is one of my favorite things about this place. It has fresh salsas (mild, medium, hot, verde), carrots with jalapeños, onions, guacamole, limes and cilantro. I love that I can add all my own toppings with as much as I want. Im picky about tacos and this place is legit. People saying this is expensive? Yeah compared to tacos in TJ maybe... Tortillas made to order, friendly service although little to no ingles at times- they try though. Only thing i dont like is you have to ask for salsa cups, bit then again there are idiots who would take a gallon home if they did. There is taqueria style guac at salsa bar, roasted chiles, and good salsas. They have mulas, gorditas, all that good stuff as long as its from masa, they got it. Came for menudo and tacos. Homemade corn tortillas for your tacos nd menudo. Only missedhaving hominy in my menudo it had very good flavor.

As usual this is one of the best taco shops. The cashier is extremely friendly. The women's bathroom needs some repairs but it is clean. The menudo is inexpensive and it taste great. Lengua tacos and carne asada mulas are my favorite. Oh and the flan is really good. One of the best flan's. read more

I really enjoy going to La Takiza for a couple of late afternoon tacos. They are always very tasty and never let you down.

Fave taco spot in north county. Recommend their birria mulitas ( birria is stewed beef, mulitas are like mini quesadillas with your choice of meat). The nice thing is you can get birria any day of the week here not just on weekends like a lot of taco shops. Everything tastes fresh, and their green salsas are great as well as their guacamole salsa which has an almost tangy taste to it. I stop here whenever I'm in vista. read more

Pathetic customer service, especially from the young girl at the register. Placed order for a pickup and told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I show up about 15 minutes later and wait in line for another 10 minutes since she decided to leave the register and start sweeping while she had a line. I eventually pay for my order and wait an additional 10 minutes only to find out she had my order the whole time. If I wouldn't have asked for my order she wouldn't have said anything.
