Review #37 of 2023 Friday, June 2nd visit around 10:15 A.M. The place was a bit of a challenge to find using Waze. Had to use Google maps to pinpoint the location. There are some handicap stalls outside in the parking lot, but not directly in front of it. We were attended by Melba FTW! She took and delivered our coffee orders while we looked over the menu. What a treat! Cinnamon stick to stir the coffee which is already prepared with cinnamon sugar which also lines the rim of the cup. There's a lot that goes on around you when you visit. Nice music level in the background which doesn't drown out conversation. The theme is that of Mexican television show Chespirito/Chavó del 8'o and it hits really well with the traditional decor. If you hear a siren, it's a warning that some hot food is coming through. Just be aware of where the workers are pushing a cart. If you hear a bell, it's one that signals a satisfied customer. My two friends ordered Chilaquiles Pancho Villa which is traditional chilaquiles with shredded chicken that they both enjoyed. I ordered Camarones a la diabla which was a generous serving to include rice and beans. Did it hit the spot? Yes, and then some! While waiting for our meal, we had some chips and salsa to hold us over. The time you order and receive the meal is fast, no more than a 7-10 minute wait. I was able to place a burrito and flan order for my wife to go and it came back to me while I paid the bill. Overall, a place you must experience for the ambiance, the excellent staff, and even better food. read more

Hubby and I stopped in for lunch while on this side of town. I'd heard about it and it was on our must try list. When we stepped in the door it was filled with bright colors and decor and a delicious home cooked smell. I got the enchilada a chilis rellano and they both were so fresh and delicious. When in Vegas- check out la Vecindad! I initially just came for the El Chavo theme and decoration, I wanted to experience a traditional theme of a childhood show. HOWEVER, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. The best tasting tortas we have had in a while. Great size, totally filling, and just overall TASTY. The cafe de olla hot and Iced were both great! Overall in one word: AUTHENTIC ! The food was literally and figuratively fire. We ordered: Drinks Pepino y Limón Agua Fresca Passion Fruit Agua Fresca Starters Queso Fundido Toluqueño Main Entree Enchiladas Poblanos (Chicken) Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo Passion Fruit Agua Fresca - This was really refreshing. A bit on the sweeter side but I usually like my drinks less sweet. Pepino y Limón Agua Fresca - Can't really give an opinion on this because I didn't try it. I originally wanted to order Jamaica, Horchata or Tamarindo but those weren't available at the time. I am not sure if it is a seasonal thing but I would ask. Queso Fundido Toluqueño - The presentation with this dish was amazing. The server first came out with a siren noise and I was wondering what that was all about this being my first time here. Then shortly our dish was presented on our table flaming from the bottom up and sizzling and melting the cheese which had the chorizo on top as you will see video. It came with a side of tortillas as well for your to eat along with it or you could also dip your chips that they gave when you first sat down. The flavor was great with the saltiness of the chorizo and the gooeyness of the cheese. It had different textures to the cheese. Aside from the melting topside, the bottom side of the dish had a crispiness to it. You had the best of both worlds when it came to the texture. Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo - This is one of my go to dishes when trying a New Mexican restaurant. I garlic and especially paired with butter and to put it was the shrimp, delicious! My only feedback is there was a bit too much butter to where it made some of the rice on the plate a little saturated with butter. Regardless the dish was still very good. Enchiladas Poblanos (Chicken) - The presentation on this was good. I didn't try it but my buddy said he enjoyed it. If you like "Mole" this would be the dish for you. The plate was licked clean. The service was excellent! The servers were very attentive and the food came out fairly quickly. The ambiance was amazing. It had a cozy yet festive vibe when you walked in. There was a lot to look at when you were there. This would be enjoyable for all groups, whether it be a family night out or just some friends hanging out. If you are looking for a cute location for photos this is your spot. Great customer service all the people we encountered were really sweet. The noise level was pretty low and conversation was had without shouting. The food was sadly not what any of us expected. The best dish was the carne en su jugo. I ordered a burrito because I was told the meat was very spicy. It was medium at best and I don't eat spicy but I didn't think that was too spicy. My burrito was dry. The meat on the taco was dry and hard. The sopa de Fido was missing flavor and my son's quesadilla was very underwhelming at the sight of it. Again, super cute decor and great cafe de olla but this doesn't make my list of places that are a frequent stop for me personally. read more

This place was cute in theme. The service was good very polite and kind servers. The food for me was ok I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with asada a la carta. I was warned they were spicy but they weren't. I didn't mind. Flavor could have been better but they were ok. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros but said they didn't have any flavor. My friend ordered mini torta cubana and said the same thing. That it was bland We ordered flan but left it all it wasn't good at all it tasted like it absorbed everything around it, it tasted like the fragrance in the room like tortilla chips. Not good. There was a fragrance thing in the corner right above our table that would spray every few minutes. The smell was strong and threw off the taste of the food. I think those shouldn't be in restaurants we did notice there was at least 2 in that area. The area we were sitting at was very packed and so claustrophobic there are no windows and with all the smells going on I couldn't wait to get out of there. A lyft driver recommended this restaurant so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. We grew up watching "El Chavo del Ocho" which was the theme of the restaurant. The servers were all dressed like the characters of the show. The food was delicious and very flavorful. I had Kiko's Plate which was carne asada, shrimp with a spicy sauce, rice, beans, avocado, pico de gallo and hand made tortillas. The service was excellent. Different servers stopped by to check in on us. We will definitely be back when we are in Las Vegas. read more

Seen this place alot on Social Media and so glad a friend of mine was able to visit before my trip to LV because this place did NOT disappoint. Arrived maybe 30 minutes after opening and was already told that the wait would be an hr. I think the wait ended up being about 20min. The cutest little restaurant and the service was top notch considering you don't have your one dedicated server. Every single person on the floor is attending all tables. The food was truly home made comfort Mexican food from the rice, salsa, cafe de olla, carne en su jugo. After having lunch here we walked over to the Bar that is part of this restaurant as well but in the corner bldg in the same shopping center. When you walk in you feel like you have entered Mexico. The decor and painted walls and ceilings are amazing. The staff is friendly and will answer any questions you have about the food. They have people who stop by your table to see if you want to purchase a photo of your table or selling jewelry. What I like is they are not aggressive at all. Went on a Friday around 7pm with a party of five. Tortas de pollo and milanesa were solid, but everything else fell short. Burrito was mid, tacos de cabeza were okay. Margarita tasted like sour mix and tequila. Worst I've had. Whiskey selection was minimal. Guacamole came halfway through the meal after we asked, and I was charged for two when I ordered one. Ordered two pepino aguas. First came late after asking. Second never arrived, even after staff checked in and confirmed. Paid for one, left without the other. Decor was nice but felt like a museum with lots of "don't touch" signs. Hours later, I'm dealing with stomach pain and constant trips to the bathroom. Will be contacting the health department.
