My husband & I went here last night for our date night. We got there around 5 so there wasn't much of a wait but the place filled up quickly. The inside is decorated that you are eating outside in Mexico.....loved the decor and friendly staff. My husband ordered a carne asada torta, he liked it but said next time he wanted to try something different. (Sorry no pic) I got the Enchilada Suizas and they were the best I've ever had! I have 4 stars because although the location is pretty central, there is a lot of construction in the center and the center itself is older and run down. These were the best chilaquiles I've had - the sauce was incredibly flavorful and the chilaquiles were the perfect amount of crispy. The eggs were over easy and cooked perfectly. If you grew up like me watching Chavo del Ocho, then you can truly appreciate the atmosphere here. Everything here makes you feel like you're hanging out in la vencidad del Chavo. We were greeted with a friendly smile as soon as we opened the door, and seated instantly. The place was pretty packed, but all the servers there came around at least once to ask if we were ok and needed anything. While waiting for your food to arrive, you can have a little souvenir photo taken. I didn't even know they had that here and it made this trip even better Food was delicious! Authentic taste to it. First off, as a local, I think I should let people know that this appears to be a bit of a tourist trap. It's off the strip, but the decor, clientele, and general vibe of the place give me the feeling it's not visited by locals very much. Anyway, the food was pretty average. My girlfriend had the butter garlic shrimp. She said the shrimp were decent but they were swimming in a visible layer of oil/grease. I had the Mole Poblano enchiladas, and she tried some of mine. We both agreed the mole sauce was odd. Not necessarily bad tasting, but definitely unlike any mole sauce I've had in the past. Hard to describe the taste. The homemade tortillas brought to the table were decent. I also had a house Margarita that I enjoyed. All in all, I'm sort of surprised how this place got super great reviews. It wasn't terrible by any means, but I would probably go back to my tried and true restaurant, Viva Zapatas on Craig and I-15. read more

Service was fair, waiter refused to give us separate checks. There were 12 people in our group and they said they couldn't split the bill. My food order seemed smaller than what I am normally served, when I complained, they said that it was the portion they always serve. At the end of the night, the security guard at the door informed me that I was being banned and not allowed to return. Hospitality The staff were so sweet! We came in on a weekday around 7, and the hostess immediately sat me. As I waited for my guest, several different waiters/waitresses asked if I needed anything, if I wanted a drink or appetizer while I waited. When my guest arrived, we ordered, and our waiter was an absolute delight. He gave his recommendations and was attentive throughout dinner. We got our food in a timely manner, and the table was touched multiple times. Food Out of this world!! We ordered guacamole, which came in 2 small bowls. There was more than plenty for 2 people. I ordered verde enchiladas and splurged on horchata. My guest ordered the carne asada. Right off the bat, we could tell the tortillas were fresh, and the carne asada was cooked perfectly. The horchata was also fresh. It was made with rice and not from a drink mix packet. The size of this drink was enough for 3 people, so I took what I couldn't finish home and had a family member try it. He agreed that it was also fresh and the best horchata in Vegas. (Besides our mothers lol) Interior Clean and nostalgic! This restaurant is inspired by the TV show, La Vecindad del Chavo. It felt like it was right off the set! A statue of El Chavo himself greeted us outside, and everywhere we looked, there was a hidden surprise. From clotheslines, birds in cages, and a hidden Frida Kahlo corner. The ambiance was immaculate. There was also a street vendor who came through, selling keychains and plushies. It added another touch of authenticity that almost made me emotional. Overall, this place is a complete 5-star experience! It's no surprise that it has been voted Best of Las Vegas. It has earned its spot as the best Mexican restaurant on my list. This is an update to a previous review. We decided to try La Vecindad again a week ago. As noted before, the decor was beautiful and the food and service was very good. We had a party of 3 and when we asked for more chips because it wasn't enough, this time we were not charged extra. We were very happy with our dinner at this restaurant and will certainly be returning again next time we are visiting Las Vegas. We highly recommend La Vecindad if you want excellent, authentic Mexican cuisine. read more

Super cute themed restaurant that we've been meaning to try for awhile. The service was good, everyone was friendly and attentive. Hubby ordered the enchiladas and he loved them! I tasted his rice and it was delicious although not totally warmed up. Mom ordered the taco salad which she absolutely loved! My daughter ordered the Al pastor quesadillas and they were SO good! I'm trying that next time! I ordered the mini torta with chilaquiles. Sadly, I did not like it. I was SO sad because chilaquiles are my FAVE! The presentation was nice but the green salsa was sweet. I was expecting tangy and a bit spicy but it had neither. It also had way too many onions so I couldn't even pick at it. The fries were good though! We will definitely be back! They were friendly, attentive and on constantly on the move insuring every detail was taken care of. The coffee is delicious, as is their pan dulce. Kudos to their panadero. We came here on a Friday night for some dinner with friends. The atmosphere is really fun & the inside is a sight to behold. I felt like I was in Mexico it was really cool! Onto the food... We had the queso with chorizo to start and it was pretty good. A guy dressed as a firefighter set the plate on fire it was a nice touch. I liked the queso and chorizo it was good. For entrees we ordered a molcajete & the super torta cubano. The torta came out a couple minutes after our queso came out. Food comes out REALLY fast here. The torta looked good but was insanely hot to touch. Taste wise it was fine but nothing I'd want to eat again. The molcajete came out a couple minutes after the torta. Firefighter guy brought the molcajete out and set that plate on fire too. For $45 you'd expect a bigger and better tasting molcajete. The waiter said the molcajete salsa is spicy but it was bland and no spice. The meat in the molcajete was bland too like it wasn't seasoned much. Between the interior decor and the firefighter lighting half the food on fire this place seems like it was made for Instagram. I really wanted to like the food here but it wasn't that good. Save your $$ and go somewhere else with better food. read more
