Cute hidden gem! I was craving Mexican food, and I know some of the best spots are those place that aren't well known. I came across La Vecindad on yelp, which reminded me of El Chavó del Ocho and had great reviews! The waiting area is small but they hostess is quick to seat your party, the entire theme of the restaurant is based off El Chavó del Ocho so if you're a big fan it's very nostalgic! They start you off with chips and salsa, and we decided to share chilaquiles and a pambazo. The portions here are HUGE, and the pambazo is on the smaller side according to our server. They have a wide variety of Mexican dishes, and different styles as well. Overall, great local place and I will be back! read more

Wow. Just wow. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the outside and the interior but this place is seriously the best little hidden secret we've found. From the moment you walk in the door and see all the Chovo del 8 decorations, you just can tell it's going to taste as good as it feels. The servers are nice and friendly, although I don't know if they did not speak English because we did not ask them to, or because they couldn't. But for us it wasn't a problem. But we were greeted at the table in Spanish. Now to the food. The menu has a decent amount of options, but based on previous reviews my husband couldn't go without a torta, of course! He went with the Chorizo Torta. Definitely big enough for one person as a meal on its own, or two people to share if you get appetizers. It's FILLED with delicious toppings, only thing he would have changed was panela cheese over Jack, but he didn't ask if he could. Definitely worth the $16.99 I got the Asada Quesadilla, also $16.99, it's listed as a large flour tortilla on the menu and they're not lying. It's huge. And I couldn't finish it. They have some of the most tender and flavorful asada I've ever tasted. Mouthwatering. Tons of Jack cheese inside as well. The chips and salsa were delivered to the table upon entry, the salsa is yummy, about a medium spice level. It's not overpowering. The agua frescas- just get it if you like cucumber and lime. The service was amazing, our server was so sweet and made all of us feel welcomed and special , he answered all our questions about the menu and made some special requests for one of us that is Keto. The food was just delicious! The tortillas are made in house and was so fresh and yummy! The margaritas were perfect! Everyone loved their meals...from the taco salad, chilaquiles, huaraches, carnitas...they were all delicious! First-time visit for lunch -- although I had attended an event at the Cantina some time ago and was impressed. We were escorted to our seats and shown the menus, and our server took our drink orders. The HUGE margaritas arrived quickly, and they were the best I have had in Las Vegas! Complimentary chips and sneaky, spicy salsa were great. We then heard a siren, which announced the arrival of our queso fundido with chorizo, which the server place on our table and igniting it! What a show! Served with flour tortillas, it was delicious. Our mains arrived soon thereafter. I was torn between carnitas -- my go-to at a Mexican restaurant -- and tlapeno, Mexican chicken soup. Our server, Netty, recommended the latter, so I went for it. Out it came -- a spicy broth containing a whole chicken leg and thigh, carrots, potatoes, corn, and zucchini. Absolutely delicious with a nice, spicy kick. The others had a chicken chimichanga, which was huge; Torta Mianesia, a huge fried steak served on a delicious hard roll; and a bean and cheese burrito. Except for the soup, which I pretty much finished, everyone got boxes to take home the leftovers. Food was top-notch all the way around. Decor is cozy and fun; we felt like we were in Mexico! We have lived in Las Vegas for almost seven years, and with the exception of Javier's in Aria and the original Casa Don Juan, we had not found a great Mexican restaurant. Now, we have! We tried La Vencindad and it didnt not disappoint, now i made the mistake to not listen to the servers and ordered the Mexican chicken wings with the habanero sauce and its fire, like literally fire in your mouth. I love spicy food and I am all for it but these were very hot. Like it this is something you might consider maybe get the sauce on the side so you can dip it. Las aguas frescas were good, I got the pepino con limón for the hot vegas weather and it was a hit. Service was great all the servers were nice and welcoming and fun. Pros: *Atmosphere was cute and festive. *Did not have to wait long for the food. *You get a good serving amount of food. *Table chips and salsa was good. *Restroom is clean. *Parking is good. Cons: *Waiter got our order wrong 2x. *Waiter disappeared after we received our food and we had to ask someone else for the check. *Bad customer service. We overheard the conversation about the Waiter getting our order wrong with the chief. The Waiter appeared to be busy not to check up with our table on the food. *Google Maps gave us wrong directions. *Had to ask for utensils. *No alcoholic beverages. *Food is mediocre at best. *Very pricey for the food and drinks. 2020 must have been a good year for this establishment, was not impressed for 2022. My daughter and I waited atleast 15-20 minutes for our orders to arrive. My molcajetes had dry Carne asada 4 shrimp and chicken. Way over-priced as well for $45 we were told by another server that Jonathan was pulled for a larger party as we never seen him again. So they forgot about us. I visited La Vecindad two weeks ago. It was my first time there. We were seated within minutes of arrival and helped by a server who was very friendly and detailed! (It did take some time to order as we were not as practiced in our Spanish). The menu options are in Spanish but the descriptions were in English, which were extremely helpful. My friend ordered the carnesada plate which came with rice and beans and veggies. I ordered the rancheros divorsiadas. We received tortillas for the table that were FRESHLY MADE. Our food was 10/10 and the salsas were so good, my favorite was the green salsa which was sweet in a good way. The restaurant was colorful and very decorated! They even had an area where you can take photos. (Which we did do, can take a photo at your table or in the photo area)It was so cute! The staff made sure to clean everything and worked fast at every table. I would definitely come back and I can't wait to bring my family. It's hard to find Mexican food that tastes like home. it's hard to find a good mexican restaurant and i fully approve of la vecindad! i had the torta with salchicha for dinner and a spicy cucumber tequila margarita -- super delicious! i loved it so much, we went back the next day for breakfast and i ordered the huevos con chorizo and a regular agua de pepino. the ambiance is so much fun to be in; there's live music, the servers are all dressed like chavó del 8 characters, the decor is unique and just the prettiest. the tortillas are hand-made btw! there's a señora making them in the kitchen which brought back childhood memories. i plan on eating/pregaming here each time i visit vegas. easily my fav spot! read more

Came here at lunch time one Friday. I had been meaning to try this place out per my coworkers' recommendation.
