One of the best restaurants I have dined at for quite some time. My job has taken me all over Europe and Asia, and the food here rivals food in any international city. Due to the Wuhan virus I was pleasantly surprised to find this quaint but upscale restaurant open at all. We parked the car & before I could run in to check to see if they were open, the masked owner (I assume) came out to the car. When he realized we hadn't called in an order, he went in and bleach washed two menus for us. As for the food, it was excellent with entrees in the $30ish range. It was good enough that my wife ran out to grab us dinner the next night & went to the same place. It was just as good the second time around. read more

I've been all over the US and this is a place worthy of any I've been to. A hometown treasure! A friend turned us on to this place and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. As always I'm a straight shooter and give positive feedback and tell it like it is even if not everything is completely positive. I gave this place 5 stars because they deserve it. Excellent service, phenomenal building with tons of history and nostalgia. The name is genius, Hannibal backwards. Not just a couple of guys wanting to have a restaurant, but a extremely talented chef and some great scratch recipes. I'll start with the only meals that was disappointing was the Chicken Florentina. The chicken was cooked nicely, but the specific piece had bad pieces of fat or something making it not fun to eat. So from my standpoint they can't always control that, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, especially since everything else was phenomenal. My New Orleans Pork Chop was one of the best Chops I've had with incredible flavor and cooked to perfection with wonderful potatoes and asparagus. My wife's Garlic Shrimp was really tasty and big perfectly cooked with great flavor. My sisters salmon was seriously over the top great! Probably some of the best flavor and way excellent texture. The baklava is homemade and a recipe from one of the owner's grandmother, the Turkish Coffee crazy unique and full strength with some of the best coffee flavor. The Scottish Queen Cheesecake was one of the most perfect endings to a meal. Light and soft, moist and WOW!!! I would go back for sure, what a great place near our hometown read more

This place just looks like an interesting home from the early 1900s, but opens into a cozy dining room with locally-made artwork lining the walls. The waitress and owner were both attentive and helpful when choosing entrees. My husband ordered the Rocky Mountain Salmon and I had the Moroccan Shrimp which were on the Summer Selections Menu. Both meals came with potatoes and asparagus and were outstanding! My shrimp had a wonderfully warm, almost fruity curry! My husband's salmon filet was herb-crusted and perfectly cooked! We also ordered desserts; we tried the baklava and the Vienna cheesecake. The baklava was superb and the cheesecake was heavenly. This was a gem! Wow! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Set in an old home, the decor is interesting and kitschy fun. We ordered the cream cheese appetizer and the hummus. Both were so good. We both had different varieties of the salmon entree. We split them In half to taste each other's. The salmon was plentiful and cooked to perfection. Served with potatoes and fresh green beans. A peculiar little restaurant in a peculiar little town. It seemed like a perfect choice for our visit to Hannibal, and we were mostly pleased with it. There are some great choices on the menu. Some selections are expensive, but the prices were fairly reasonable for the quality of what was served. I struggled with selecting a choice from all there was to pick from. I went with the Avatar Salmon. I don't know if that is one of their best dishes or not, but I really liked it. It seemed like the type of place where you couldn't go wrong with an entree. The portions seemed to be on the lighter side, but I might have just been really hungry as well. I didn't like the way they did drinks with soda cans, but it is a different type of place. The service was good with all of the staff seeming to take a group approach in tending to all of the tables in the restaurant. The decor is highly unusual, and they were playing an old movie. It was neat in a weird way. All in all, the food was unique and good. I would go again if I ever venture back to Hannibal. read more

I'll do the summary first: Great food, intimate atmosphere and excellent service. Four stars for food quality! I was glad we found LaBinnah Bistro through Yelp. This little eatery is located in a Victorian home on 5th street and has a dozen small tables covered with white tablecloths. From the moment we stepped onto their limestone entry steps and through the front door into the foyer with steep steps to a private area upstairs, we knew that we were in for an experience! There were three of us, and we quickly saw that there are two four-top tables and ten two-tops, which were quickly pulled together as needed to serve groups, while preserving the charm of the two-tops for couples. The tables are located in what appears to have been the original living room, parlor, and dining room with pocket doors pulled back to create a large dining area. We started with a bottle of Missouri red wine while we discussed our entree options. The menu featured so many appealing entrees it was hard to choose, but our server was very helpful in recommending the favorites. Many selections featured a Turkish spice flair, and Mediterranean options were woven into each course of the menu. The chef's house-made creations were fresh and had amazing layers of delightful flavors that just keep unfolding as you worked through the dish. We started with the Trojan salad, which has Feta cheese, olives (with pits!), tomato, cucumber, carrots and spinach, drizzled with homemade lemon dressing. We also shared a Caprese salad, with fresh mozzarella and tomato slices, sweet basil and balsamic vinaigrette. Our entrees included the "Avatar," Alaskan salmon sautéed with lemongrass and fresh herbs, Pan-tossed Garlic Shrimp with butter and lots of finely diced garlic, and a thick-cut African Peri-Peri pork chop, with exquisite peppery-but-not-too-spicy flavors of Africa. We shared with each other, and there were many "M-m-m-ms!" around the table. They also offer an extensive dessert list, and there were many attractive plates served to diners around us. Their menu states "Diners can enjoy the most Delicious entrees, Unique Appetizers and Decadent Desserts in our uninterrupted, unhurried relaxed environment in our fine dining, romantic restaurant in Hannibal, Missouri." Friday night on a weekend getaway in Hannibal. Looking for a nice place to eat. Wow! Surprised! We arrived early for its opening time, had nice conversation and good reviews from frequent guests. This restaurant is a little off the main street of Hannibal. The owner of the B and B we stayed at is the chef. The menu is eclectic and international, with strong Mediterranean and French influences. Our server, Camille, was a delight. She gave the impression that she was personally glad we were there and was very helpful with answers to questions regarding the menu. There were many wine and beer options. I had a walnut/apple spinach salad, stuffed salmon and baklava. My husband had the lamb chop and cheese cake. Both were served on top of a generous slice of french bread with perfectly cooked potatoes and green beans. It came to the table hot and perfectly seasoned. Hands down one of the best dining experiences of my life! LaBinnah (Hannibal spelled backwards) Bistro is located in the historic town of Hannibal next to the Mississippi River. The restaurant operates out a cute little house not too far from many of the popular attractions. I really enjoyed this experience because the staff really takes care of you and I in no way felt rushed. My waiter was very informative and took the time to explain the menu to me. The food itself has an international flair to it and they have a great selection of wine to choose from. I ordered the Bayou Chicken and savored every bite. In addition to the nice ambiance, LaBinnah has beautiful decor along with some great artwork. A wonderful dining experience and I look forward to stopping in again in the future. read more

Several weeks ago I stopped here while heading to Minneapolis for the weekend. What a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant via the yelp app. I was dressed in road tripping clothes (as I was expecting a dinner of Taco Bell quality) but I was still made to feel comfortable in the restaurant. Every person in our group of four was pleased with the meal and the experience. I had the jerk shrimp and my only dissatisfaction was that the piece of french bread was completely soaked by the time I got to the last of the shrimp, so it was no longer appealing. However, the jerk shrimp was perfectly cooked and was very flavorful without being overpowering. As amazing as their desserts sound, I didn't have room after all the shrimp. Next time I'm saving room for the godiva chocolate cake! Also, a great bonus was the restaurant wifi, as my cell phone hardly had a signal in this area. read more

If you are looking for fine dining cuisine with a unique Victorian atmosphere, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Upon walking into the restored victorian home, you'll be greeted by warm & friendly staff. There is a finite of space/tables available (30 tables)... So reservations are strongly encouraged. We got in on Wednesday night without a problem, 3/4. The atmosphere is very warm and quaint. Lots of beautiful old pictures on the walls with smooth 1930s and 1940s music, jazz music, playing in the background. Our host and server for the evening, Arif, was absolutely helpful, kind, and very prompt and efficient. Arif is also co owner of the restaurant. We had a great conversation with him and, I have to say, I definitely learned a lot about Turkish cuisine and even some Turkish culture. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the Tennessee pork with the bourbon and cinnamon rub. It was absolutely delicious. Five out of five. For dessert, I had the raspberry mango cheesecake. Also five out of five. Absolutely delicious. The bottom line: if you're ever passing through, or are staying, in Hannibal or the surrounding area, stop in at this nice quaint Victorian home containing wonderful cuisine and awesome staff. He enjoyed his bourbon flavored pork chop. Side vegetables and potato were fresh and good. We shared one of their creative salads to begin the meal. The Rockcliffe Mansion's owners referred us to this intimate Bistro down the (steep) hill from them. The menu featured so many tempting entrees it was hard to choose. Many selections used a Turkish spice palette. I settled on the 5 oz. lamb chop so I would be sure to have room for the highly regarded desserts. My husband selected West coast salmon. Both entrees were cooked perfectly and nicely presented with the vegetables du jour: a small potato with 2 nice-sized asparagus spears with a creamy yellow sauce that had a little kick to it. There were several choices of cheesecake and some layer cakes on the dessert menu. My husband and I decided to split one with a caramel/cinnamon topping. The place was very full but they we had a reservation so we were accommodated immediately. The wait staff was so friendly and welcoming and seemed happy to be working. The food was very well seasoned. Personally, I had West Coast Salmon which was on special. My hubs had a steak and my mom had a pork chop on special. I don't remember what pops had but I think it was some kind of salmon on special. Food was good all around and there were plenty of clean plates. Deserts were okay. The waiter recommended the Baklava... stating he had just made it that day. In hindsight, we should have ordered that and I wish now I would have. The decor is so quaint and charming. The couple that owns the place has really made it special inside and outside. Overall, the place was very charming and it was wonderful to experience. Who I WOULD recommend this place to: Someone open to a charming/small-ish environment with ambiance and care more about the quality of the food than just getting mass quantities of food. What a delightful find this gem of a restaurant was for my husband and I on our three-week driving trip in June. I checked Yelp for a dinner spot and up came La Binnah. We walked over and immediately were charmed by the lovely Victorian exterior which extended to the beautiful decor inside. We were welcomed warmly and enjoyed a most relaxing evening. We both agreed it was the most delicious meal and best service we had had in many months. First was an artichoke and spinach appetizer that was top notch following by a special salmon entree that was terrific. My daughter and I came here for her 22nd Birthday. We decided to have appetizers instead of entrees because we were just not up for a full dinner. The appetizers were amazing. They were large and absolutely delicious. We split a bottle of wine and it was yummy as well. When the chef heard it was her birthday he came out to wish her a happy birthday and to visit a while. Our waitress was very sweet. We ordered the coconut cake for dessert. They put a candle on top and made her feel very special. I would recommend this place for any special occasion. We decided to check it out after two different people asked us if we'd been to LaBinnah (in response to our complaints about the food in the area). It's a cute place, small and run by a friendly and dedicated staff. We had to wait a bit, but it was worth it! If you're in Hannibal, you MUST dine here! While in town, we dine here every evening and not only is the food incredible, but the service is top notch. We started with the Dolmas for an appetizer and they were delicious. My son and I alway get the Salmon Faurci, but I wanted to try something different this time. I opted for the petite lamb chop, which I've never had anywhere, and it was the most amazing thing I've ever tasted!! Our server warned that the petite was on the small side, so she didn't want me to be disappointed with the size, but I eat tiny portions and it was the perfect size for me. The Salmon Faurci for my son was, as always, delicious. Both were served with asparagus spears (perfectly cooked) and new potatoes with a delicious cream sauce. For desert, my son had the Black and Red Raspberry Cheesecake which was divine! I was stuffed so I opted for the homemade Baklava (to go), which was also outstanding. If you're in Hannibal I highly recommend this be at the top of your list for dinner. They offer indoor and outdoor dining and they open at 5:00pm. And if it's a concern, they were very conscientious about spacing diners apart in the dining room. Also, the owner Arif is an absolute gem! What an unexpected delight in a unique setting. Not your typical restaurant setting, inside an older Victorian residence turned fine dining establishment. But within the walls you find an eclectic menu of European and American treats. My wife and I shared the hummus appetizer which was wonderful. For dinner she had the Greek salad like meal. I treated myself to a Queen Victoria pork chop. Wonderful! Temped by dessert we politely passed but saw the white cake served to the adjoining table and plan to return for a second crack at the final stage of a delightful dining experience. If your wife asks to be taken to someplace new, you will not be disappointed in the result. We certainly plan to dine again on our travels when passing through Hannibal. Highly recommended read more
