Great pizza! Buffalo chicken with no red sauce and using the hot sauce as the base is fantastic! Also the margherita pizza is great!

First the place is dirty, the rug is 20 years old or more. It took over 1.5 hours to get our under cooked cold food. The kitchen heated the meat up in the microwave. Drive to the city you will have better choices. read more

OMG...excellent!! The soups were great...clam "chowdah" for him & I tried the steakbomb soup...if you like any combination of steak, cheese & onions you need to try this! Best prime rib I've had in a long time...literally melt in your mouth deliciousness!! The butternut squash was beautifully laced with cinnamon. The service was friendly & effecient, the atmosphere is that of a neighborhood bar with outstanding food, but the FD!!! Top notch!! The desserts were decadent...we ordered the chocolate molten lava cake & the Bailey's chocolate chip cheesecake...so so good, but we couldn't finish.... Honestly, if there is a Sunday where I am not going to Ladd's for dinner, my entire week is thrown off. This restaurant has the best food around with a special's menu that changes weekly, and ingredients that are incredibly fresh. I've lived in the UK for a year, yet I still prefer Ladd's Fish & Chips to any other. Their prime rib makes any occasion a special occasion. And my go-to "I'm sort of hungover but still hungry" meal will forever be the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. read more

This restaurant has literally been here for about 100 years. I know someone that worked here in the depression(1930's). Decor is dated but well maintained. Seating is close. Staff was very prompt and pleasant. The menu is large. Prices were average (but did not reflect the same on the bill). Most entrees come with soup or salad. The shrimp scampi contained 6 jumbo shrimp. There was too much oil and the pasta was virtually non existent. All things considered the shrimp made it work it. The blacked chicken Alfredo was huge. Not as spicy as I would have liked but very good meal. The peanut butter pie was also large. The brownie Sunday contained a rather thin brownie but the ice cream and whip cream made it a meal. read more

Yum! Good food, good service but gets packed. Don't eat in the dining room unless you are over 65 years old. It looks like an old person's home in there. The bar and lounge are really nicely decorated and have conveniently located tvs tuned to the popular games on that night. Delicious pizza now for pick up too! gave this place 3 chances. every time i went i asked the waitress to accommodate my gluten free allergy. i left sicker than a dog every time. i tried different dishes on the gluten free menu and even notified the staff i had a severe allergy. my requests weren't seen nor accommodated because i left in severe pain every time. i will not be coming back. the staff is very welcoming, and always kind but this is getting bad. your customers should come first, especially with allergies. read more

We usually enjoy our "date night" at ladd's. Seating in the lounge area is comfortable. Service can be "either or". we've been ignored, treated like an inconvenience or treated like a valued customer. Food is good, good menu selections, value..we like Ladd's. we recently went with friends and decided to sit in the dining room area. Service was excellent. And the meals were served hot and as ordered. But, I ordered a garden salad. $14.99. I decided I would have some shrimp added to that. I was unclear of the price but it was a night out My salad arrived. It was a HUGE plate of ice berg lettuce. 4 cucumber slices, 4 small pieces of tomato, a tiny bit of radicchio in the center, a tiny bit of onion. The "add on" shrimp sat on top of that. 4 shrimp. The bill? $20.99. In my opinion a $20 salad should have all the bells and whistles included. radish, pepper, croutons, cheese, egg, anything to make it look like a $20 salad! Not just a huge plate of lettuce. We like Ladd's. we really do. And we will visit often. But I doubt I will order a plate of lettuce again read more

Last time was there, had the shrimp scampi and couple other people in our group had prime rib. One ordered the prime rib medium rare, 1 ordered prime rib medium, and 1 order the prime rib medium well. I couldn't tell the difference with any of them cough I think they just sliced that meatoff of one slab of beef put it on the plate. One of the plates that the food was served on look dirty. my scampi was excellent and that's why I'm giving four stars instead of fewer. Solid food with great pricing in a very comfortable atmosphere. Huge menu selection with more than a few choices for even the pickiest eaters. Service varies depending on who is waiting on you but the meals remain consistently great and portions huge. Hi everyone, I visited ladd's on Friday 8-2-2019 at about 6:30 and ordered a bowl clam chowder and a salad. my night first went wrong when I ordered a glass of orange juice from the bar and it was bad. I should have known what was to come when they could not even keep the orange juice from spoiling. Next the clam chowder was served to me uncooked. The potatoes where hard and the chowder was just warm not hot. I took two bites of my chowder and sent it back. The salad I also ordered was OK. I ate that. No manager or owner came to me to ask what was wrong with my food when I sent it back to kitchen and did not order anything else. They did not offer me anything explaination for the poor food and service. they made me pay for my garden salad after the chowder was so poorly prepared. When I got home about two hours later I got horribly sick. I had horrible stomach pains, diarrhea, and just sick and weak all over. The chowder was the culprit as I think it was not cooked and gave me food poisoning. I am still very sick late Saturday night at 11:00 pm I called them Saturday and they apologized about my experience. They offered to send me a 25 dollar gift card.(which I accepted) I am still not to happy because 25 dollars for ruining my weekend and then giving me a lousy 25 dollars is not making things right for ruining my weekend by being in bed sick for two days. Further after thought I do not think I will using it as I do not want to take a chance of getting sick from uncooked food again. Bad habits do not change over night. Further no manager ever came to me that night when I sent my chowder back or tried to make things right, matter a fact they had enough gal to make me pay for my small garden salad at the price of 3.99 after that horrible chowder. They should offered that Friday night 25.00 gift card for giving me a lousy meal. The next day they did make an empty gesture when I was horribly sick from food poisoning offered me a gift card for 25.00 dollars. Friday night when I sent my food back no manager or owner came to me to offer me an excuse for the poor service and food. The next day when they found out that my food I ordered in their restaurant made me sick they offered me a lousy 25 dollars. After all my whole weekend was ruined by being sick and in bed instead of enjoying my weekend. That offer of 25.00 would have been appropriate the night when I sent my food back not after they knew I was sick from their food and would be sick rest of the weekend. Be careful what you order from this restaurant as they send out half cooked food. It was a total lack of management to allow clam chowder to leave the kitchen that under cooked. The potatoes where totally raw and crunched when I bit into them and the chowder was Luke warm not hot. There needs to be better quality control of food leaving the kitchen. I am still very sick and I think I am going to go to ER to be checked out tomorrow Sunday 8-4-2019. This was my experience on my first visit and will more than likely be my last visit to this local hangout! Was told about place by local person paving driveway because Ladd is my last name & because he said on Sundays & Wednesdays seniors get discount. So we went w/ out GPS on their directions which meant going on 202 forever but it was worth it. We both had duck done two different ways both scrumptious. Now some 8 years later we wish to go again because oddly enough duck being one food item not prohibited on husband's diet. Imagine being told no red meat or any seafood. Since we no longer live in New England we thought Ladds head for Ladds. My only regret is we can't hold Ladd family reunion @ there because it would appear it's in middle of no where although am still researching. Twice now we have used this restaurant as a post-funeral gathering spot and both times the food and the service was outstanding. Making arrangements here with Bill was the easiest thing ever and the selection of food was great. We fed 30 people and had plenty of leftovers to take home for guests. The service was extremely good. Keeping 30 people happy is not an easy task, but Tigger made it seem effortless with her personal touch. We wanted to take my husband's mom out for her birthday and it was suggested we go to Ladd's in Rutland, MA. We ordered potatoes skins for the appetizer and were awful. Who puts American cheese on potato skins? Not only that, I'm pretty sure it was some sort of CheezWiz. I had the turkey dinner. The turkey, mashed potatoes and rolls were good. The summer squash was overcooked and mushy, the gravy was out of a can and the stuffing had way too much liquid in it. The salt content was through the roof. My husband had the seafood casserole. He said it had absolutely no taste to it. It was described to me as "tasteless"...... "like eating a bowl of rubber bands." My mother in-law ordered broccoli with her meal and when it came out, it was way over cooked. I could barely tell it was green it was so washed out. My husband and I both agreed we would not go back. Tried Ladd's about a month ago and I was disappointed with the food, but they did have very good service. I found most items to be under seasoned. We had ordered an appetizer of pretzels and they tasted like they were frozen and heated in a microwave. The cheese sauce that came with them was very bland. I had a steak with a mushroom sauce for my entree, again very bland. The sides for the entrees were served on separate plates, which was a little strange. My husband asked for broccoli as one of his sides and literally received one large broccoli stem on a separate plate. Seems like we would have been better off trying the sandwiches. OK , so first time at Ladd's . We started are experience with the summer drink special, ~ dragon berry lemonade. Worst drink EVER. My husband suffered through his. I had to ask the waitress for something else and was much happier with the coconut martini. They actually made to much and I got the extra in a small glass on the side. That's a first. Salad ~ if you like romaine lettuce with tons of stalk you'll love it. Meals ~ hubby got fish and chips, fries were good as was the coleslaw, creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. HUGE piece of Haddock, though it was entombed in beer batter which he didn't care for. I had the fettuccine with chicken. It was OK. Again HUGE portions Atmosphere~ We felt we had walked into the 1970's. Place is dark, shades were drawn and the room was painted in 7 shades of unmatched browns. The restaurant needs a major face-lift and new carpeting. It was disappointing because the outside of the restaurant was nicely landscaped and inside well , enough said. LJ read more

I haven't been in years. Still good! There were two of us and it was a Sunday around 8pm. We were the only two in dining room area (bar is on the other side). I was worried because we came in close to closing time that the wait staff would be annoyed with us. I worried for nothing-our waiter and also waitress were the kindest. Top service and the food was delicious. I had seared scallops with angel hair pasta and my friend had the roast beef au jus. And to my surprise they still served chocolate peanut utter pie!! We are a gay couple. We went with a few elderly older women. We were always treated in a fantastic manner. Good food, good drinks, great service. After going to a concert at church in Worcester, the two of us stopped in for dinner. The waitress and the staff were completely rude, took a long time for drinks, took a long time for our meal, and it was not what we ordered. Haven't been in awhile, but always had pleasant experiences at Ladd's. The restaurant itself has a very comfortable and relaxed setting. Their soups are excellent, they have a very good beef barley. As far as a main course, I love their "Blackened Chicken Alfredo" and also their "Pesto Chicken & Pasta". The service is very good and the prices aren't bad either. I would also recommend the steak! I like Ladds. they havent tried to change who they are, and when they expanded i was worried, but it actually has been a plus for them. food is good, great Pizza here and the owners are always out greeting people and even waiting tables... good to see them taking pride in their business and leading by example. so glad summer vacation is over and they are open again... read more

I have no idea how the food tasted as we left before it came!! We arrived at 6:30om and had to wait for a table...no biggie, they had a bar! They came to tell us that our table will be ready in a minute...fine!! Still waiting 10 mins later for our table so I asked the hostess and she said they were cleaning it now!! REALLY?? After a 40 or more mins...we were seated! Waited 15 mins for a waitress to take our drink order which took about 10 mins to come...we finally ordered our food, excited to try a new restaurant!! 3 of us ordered their chowder and one had the salad..the seafood chowder was cold so we sent it back...finally came back hot! Now it's an hour and 15 mins and STILL NO DINNER...asked the waitress what's going on and she kept telling us it's coming out!! The hostess ended up giving us a $25.00 gift certificate because we were complaining that it was taking WAY too long!! Now it's 8:48pm and still no food! My husband asked me for the certificate..I gave it to him...he ripped it up and said let's go!! We ordered pizza on the way home which came as we pulled in our driveway!! Such bad service all around!! I've never in my life had to wait 2 and a half hours for food!! We will never go there again!!
