Came here for cake. They are located at a busy location with only street parking, which was hard to find. Got the green tea mille crepe cake and the blueberry cheese mille crepe slices. I love the flavors of these cakes. Can't go wrong with the green tea one. The blueberry one was a bit sour but I still loved it. They are very light and not too sweet. Great for dessert, even after a heavy dinner. The cakes are very expensive and I assume it is due to the efforts of layering the individual crepes and cream in between but I also assume that they have machines now that can do it in a quick amount of time. Such decadent treats. We've tried the green tea, strawberry, signature, and tiramisu, with signature being the favorite by far. That sweet caramelizad top is . Tiramisu was good too, though I didn't think it tasted much like tiramisu- more cocoa powder, less coffee/mascarpone notes. I had both the matcha and the signature. - The matcha Mille crepes have a wonderful amount of matcha, and the flavor really comes through without being overpowering. - The signature is quite flavorful too! I think it may be vanilla flavor that's coming through. - For both variations, the many layers make for a wonderful texture experience in your mouth. Great cakes. Terrible service with an attitude. Never fails. 10 out of 10 times is always like this. You would think if they're charging $100 you would be greeted with friendly service. What really bothered me was when Grace the cashier started talking to me about COVID and says that she did not believe some facts of covid... I never asked her for her opinion. For someone who takes COVID seriously and took a negative COVID exam day of going into the store to buy a cake, I really don't appreciate the extra input and un-welcomed conversation. If you are not going to provide good customer service and hire very stale attitude employees at least make it quick and painless. If you don't have anything good to say keep it to yourself. Not sure this Lady M doesn't have more positive reviews. I absolutely love Lady M cakes and was ecstatic when I stumbled upon this location from dining at a restaurant few doors down (RedWhite Ramen is delicious btw!). I'm personally not a fan of their non-mille crepe cakes. I've only really loved their mille crepe cakes. My favorite hands down is the Earl Grey. They just brought back Earl Grey as it's a seasonal flavor. Apparently they have it till end of the year. Highly highly recommend getting a slice of that to try (if not the whole cake). :) Other cakes that I have enjoyed are passionfruit, pistachio, signature, and matcha. Honestly, the cake is worth it. My friend was skeptical in the beginning, and then became a lover. You spend more than $10 on often a subpar dessert at restaurants. I'm a huge fan of lady M cakes in general and love that they have a fluffy, whipped cream consistency and aren't overly sweet but still satisfy that sweet tooth craving. The other Lady M places I have been to, each bite of cake was so satisfying, almost like you were biting into a cloud. Which is why I think it is worth the hefty $9-10 price tag per slice. However, the cake slice I got here was completely frozen! You could taste the ice chunks in each bite which was disappointing. The flavor was however very good - it tasted like creme brûlée with that caramelized top layer - it would have been so perfect if the cake wasn't frozen :( I came here on a Sunday afternoon, around 4pm and almost all of their cakes were sold out aside from their Signature Mille Crêpe, so I opted for a slice of that. There wasn't a huge line when I was here, just a few people mulling around outside looking at the menu. During covid, they only allow a two parties inside the actual basement at a time, so I can see this place having a huge wait (especially when there's a lot of indecisive people :P). There aren't any seats (primarily a grab and go place) but the shop is located on Newbury St so you can take this to go and enjoy while you shop or enjoy at the Boston Public Garden which is only a few minutes away. Was super bummed that they didn't sell any drinks / lattes here to go though! Tips: come early, they will have way more choices like their infamous green tea crepe (perhaps it might be more fresh then too...but I don't know for sure). Overall, glad that they have a Lady M in Boston, but really hope that don't freeze their cakes because it really takes away from the integrity of the cake and I can't justify paying this much for a frozen cake. read more

I came here today while I was walking along Newbury. It was empty inside so I got through in no time. I got the Green Tea Mille Crepes. It was sooo good! I shared it with my husband when I got home. I almost didn't want to leave him any. It's very light and airy. Very Very quick to eat through. This is definitely a treat yourself kind of desert. It's very pricey for a slice of cake but it's understandable the labour and time it takes to make it.. $9 per slice. Inside is really small with a bar top to eat on. Pick up was easy, they do limit the number of customers into the shop due to covid and social distancing. We got one slice of pistachio cake for ~$10, and while it was good, I didn't find it to be worth the price point. The line was fairly long when my friend and I visited, and we waited for ~10 minutes before we got to the register. To be expected for a very hyped up, bougie boutique. They have a display of cakes on the right for you to ogle at while you wait and decide what you'd like to indulge on. I've only been to one other Lady M, in Asia, so I don't have much for reference, but I was disappointed that the slice of cake come out prepackaged - I couldn't see into the kitchen, but I'm pretty sure the slice came directly out of the fridge. In Asia, the cakes are cut in front of you, maximizing freshness, but I'm afraid that didn't translate to this Lady M. So my advice is to stick to the signature or green tea mille crepe cakes. These are the best in my opinion. Some other locations also have savory foods, but not this one. This particular location is small with no where to sit. There's a standing table along the wall so we used that, but the line wrapped right in front of us, so we always felt like we were in the way. I liked the tiramisu better than the green tea, purely because the there was more bitterness in the tiramisu, and the intensity of the flavor was more concentrated and richer. - Comparing a crepe cake to a normal cake, I found the crepe cake to be chewier. The nature of stacking the cakes make it more dense, and inherently less fluffy then a normal cake. I personally would prefer normal cake purely because of the texture difference. - Now the main question, is it worth the hefty price? It is $9 for a pretty small slice. I would say not really. The flavor is good, but not "I have to come here before I die" kind. I have found comparable flavors for cheaper prices. Hard to place an exact stars for overall experience though, I would say somewhere between 3&4 but definitely 3 for the Boston store, 4 for NYC stores. I have been buying their cakes for many years, started when I was in NYC, I was delighted they opened a place in Boston. The cake is good but it's pretty pricing for a piece of cake. My personal opinion is the consumer base is heavily Asians students spending on their parents budget so it is priced like over-hyped piece of symbol. Why 3 for Boston and 4 for NYC? Well, I'm sure some ppl have noticed by now that you can feel th ice if you get the whole cake. I would imagine it has something to do with potentially being shipped from NYC(unless they have a kitchen here in Boston). The texture is totally different than the one in NYC. For $8.50 a slice (a tiny slice at that) I was expecting nothing less than phenomenal. The entire cake is a whopping $85! I'm sorry but 20 total layers of mediocre crepes and average-tasting pastry creme subtly laced with green tea flavor does not warrant a ridiculously high price. Is it actually premium cake? Doesn't taste like one... Last I checked, the ingredients for a crepe cake were relatively cheap. The cake is beautifully dusted off with matcha powder but overall it was nothing spectacular. Light and not too sweet while having a nice refreshing chill to it along all its multiple layers. But it's just really expensive for something thatll last you maybe 7 minutes (and that's if you're really trying to savor the flavor). Apparently you're supposed to eat the cake layer by layer but almost all the matcha powder is on the top layer so I'm not really sure why you would do this. I dunno. The freshness and taste perfection is unbeatable. I've heard a lot of good things about this place and I've seen people spend 80-90$ on the entire cake before, so I assumed that it would be a mind blowing experience. Terrible online service. Ordered cake on feb 10th, shipping took over a week and the cakes all melted. I asked for an replacement, and the replacement was never shipped. I contact the customer service twice, each time it took half an hour for the customer service to reply. The first time, a customer service agent told me that the cakes would be shipped by Feb 25th, the second time she said that they would be shipped by March 2nd at the latest. Yet now, nothing is shipped, and I waited 80 minutes without receiving a reply. This is disgusting. If Lady M prefer refund over replacement, just let me know at the beginning. For the in store experience, I would just say that, they don't even have chairs. The strawberry shortcake was horrible, it is so soggy that I felt disgusted by the texture. read more

I dropped by recently to buy a slice of cake. Their menu changes often so I got a slice of the Chocolate Arc-en-Ciel. Since it was pretty hot, I asked if they had any ice packs to keep the cake cool. Fortunately, they did and they placed it underneath and on the sides of the cake box. Nice touch! As a chocolate lover, you gotta try out this cake. I think it's better than the mille crepe ones. The Chocolate Arc-En-Ciel is moist chocolate cake mixed with layers of dark and milk chocolate mousse. It's packed with flavor yet it's very light and not too sweet. My favorite is the Green Tea Mousse cake but they don't seem to have it in the Boston location. I guess you have to order the full cake in advance. read more
