Great quiet spot for partners or a couple of friends. The space is cozy and well decorated. Much more importantly the macaroons are delicious! The shells were soft but firm and full of flavor. My SO and I ordered the butterbeer, honey lavender, wild strawberry, and pear almond. Our favorite was the honey lavender followed by the wild strawberry and butterbeer. Would definitely come again. read more

I just walked out of this place with five macarons, and they did not disappoint! Macarons are one of my very favorite treats, and I absolutely cannot find a decent one in my home town, so you can imagine how excited I was when I just happened to walk by in Seattle and see a beautiful counter filled with these colorful cookies. I was apprehensive though, because I've bought gorgeous macarons many times that weren't very tasty. However, that was not the case this time. They tasted as good as they look; the toasted coconut was my favorite. I will definitely visit again before I head home! read more

I was so sad I forgot my wallet at home so I didn't get to try their drinks, but their macaroon looked amazing! I got quite a few flavors for 20 pc. My fav. 2 lavender honey (best ones I've ever had), 2 unicorn (I wish I only got one because it was sooo sweet), 2 salted caramel (so bomb), 1 fruity pebble (it was okay, really sugary), 1 Nutella brandy (surprisingly amazing, taste like the alcoholic chocolates), 1 mint chocolate (so chocolatey and minty) lastly 1 strawberry (so fresh and yummy). The employee there was friendly and even gave me a flavor menu thing. Overall I'd say it's pretty dang good, but some was a hit or miss on the flavor. Half of them were so sweet all I could taste was sugar and not much of the flavor. Def will come here for more lavender honey and grab a drink next time! read more

"I'm not a huge fan of macarons" said me, before purchasing a 15-pack for $30 dollars. Now, I'm home, frantically trying to figure out how to hide the remaining 9 macarons I have left from my husband and children... should I just eat them all? Right here, right now? Or do I think I can buy myself a few days by stashing them in the back of the extra freezer out in the garage? Oh, the dilemma!!!! This is one of my favorite places in Seattle. There's a wide variety of flavors, and I've liked every one that I've tried. I come at least once a month to see what the latest seasonal flavors are. One time, I came in and asked about a flavor I had never seen before. The super kind lady on staff said "Oops, this one's broken", and gave it to me to try for free. Like other reviewers mention, the decor is also charming and delightful. And, it's so fun that they serve champagne. I can't wait to do a lady's happy hour with some friends here sometime. My favorite flavor is by far the unicorn flavor. It's not just my favorite in the shop - it's my favorite macaron flavor in the whole world. I've eaten a lot of macarons in a lot of places (including France!), and it is simply the best. :P I can't believe how good it is. read more

These macarons are no joke. They're absolutely delicious. I recommend the wild strawberry & the oatmeal cookie. Bring your girlfriends & order some rosé along with a 15+ macaron box for the best time. Hannah helped my friends and I on a Saturday night, and she was so knowledgeable about every macaron & also suggested the most delicious ones! Went there on our lunch hour today. Girl at the front was rude, barely acknowledged us and behaved as though we were bothering her. There were no other people there. I asked to buy four macaroons and asked for the plastic container to place them in so that they would not be crushed. She refused. I mean, I get it, the company does not want to waste money on me buying 4 and using their plastic container that holds ten. But she didn't have to be so blatantly rude and dismissive. I mean I could have brought ten but it's the attitude that stopped me. Went to another bakery instead. This is too bad since I love their Kirkland location. read more

Such a cute little shop in the midst of the Amazon madness! I was planning a dessert for a bridal shower and am so glad to have found Lady Yum! The macarons were EXCELLENT!! i don't think it's in any way lesser than Lauderee or any of the 'famous' EU brands. Really loved the pistachio, the cookie/cream. The filling wasn't overly sweet, perfect balance, and the shell was crispy and chewy at the same time. WOW. read more

Macarons are dangerous. They're small enough where you can stuff an entire cookie into your mouth with pretty minimal effort, and before you know it -- you've finished an entire dozen while sitting on the couch watching Game of Thrones, your stomach hurts, and you're forced to question your life and your choices. This may or may not have happened to me last week after a visit to Lady Yum. These are the best macarons I've ever had, better than any I've tried before. The cookies are perfect little round wafers, and the filling is always soOOOOoooOOOoo good. The location is great as well (right under Amazon Day One, which gives them a built in clientele of Amazonians and Belltown yuppies). Their macarons are normally pretty reasonably priced at $2/each, but my favorite is their happy hour deal, where they're only $1 each for a rotating menu of 2 daily happy hour flavors. That's right, for only $12/dozen, you can consume 1000 calories of delicious, flaky goodness, all in one sitting. I know they have some great deals on roses and wine during Happy Hour as well, but I haven't tried them out myself. Service is always great here. The first time I went, the lady serving my macarons dented one cookie ever-so-slightly and replaced it without me asking, and gave me the dented one to eat while she packaged the rest of them up. The second time I went, I just picked up two happy hour macarons (again, $2!!! what a deal!), and she added 2 broken cookies to my bag for free, to try! Lady Yum gets a 5/5 from me, I will definitely come back here to satisfy any macaron cravings! read more

The macaroons are pretty good here. Never had a caramel filled macaroon until today. They have a few macaroon flavors that alot of other places have but this place adds a little twist, such as the mentioned caramel. The ones with the sweet cream as well as the raspberry was my favorite. Raspberry and coconut are usually my favorite at most shops, and from what I remember, they are also favorite here. They were also nice enough to give me a free sample or 2 which helped me realize how their macaroons were different with the filling. I also ordered a drip coffee and it was ok. I'm not exactly a coffe coneseur, but it was good enough especially since this is not a coffee shop. I was just glad they served it that late at night. I actually ended up going back to this place twice the first day I ever checked this place out. I'll be back forsure. Especially since they are like the only place that serves coffee so late. Yes, also for the macaroons. Lol. read more

Best Macaron I've ever had. I was never a fan of macaron, didn't appreciate how sweet they are despite their delicate and pretty look. This is the first time I really enjoyed macaron. Loved their coconut flavor. Definitely worth trying. I like their flavor since it's strong but not artificial. Also the texture, it's light and crispy and a little chewy inside. read more

Strictly reviewing the macaroons...5 Stars. I always ask my husband to bring me some of these wonderful macaroons home on occasion. They are always good as the last visit, my fav is the salted caramel...swoon. My only problem is that I eat them all in one sitting. I had just purchased macarons at a well-known bakery near Pike Place Market when I happened to be walking by and saw Lady Yum's adorably decorated seasonal macarons. I decided to get a few to compare the different bakeries. When I went to pay, I set down a bouquet of flowers I had just bought, and when I picked them back up again, the water from the bouquet spilled on the counter and the floor. I was so sorry. The young lady who helped me (I didn't get her name) reassured me it was fine and promptly cleaned it up with a smile. I walked outside (my bouquet was still leaking) to organize myself and the young lady ran outside and handed me a plastic bag to catch the leaking water from my flowers. How sweet and thoughtful was that? I felt so grateful for the extra mile she went to be so helpful. That kindness really makes an impression, so thank you again to the thoughtful young lady who helped me today. read more

This place is one of my favorite places, EVER!! Their macarons are to-die-for! I'm a macaron snob having macs from all around the world, and these are by far THE BEST! They offer a variety of flavors to choose from, and the macs are baked perfectly (no hollows) and the fillings aren't overly sweet like other places but have strong flavors. The interior of this place is so cute; I want to hangout here all of the time! Not to mention, you can order CHAMPAGNE with your macarons---what is better than macs and champs?!?! My husband ordered one of their macaron towers as a surprise for my birthday. He called them numerous times to ensure they had received the order and that it would be ready by the desired pickup time later that week, as other friends were picking it up en route to a surprise party. When my friends went to pick it up the employee claimed to have no record of it. They searched everywhere and could find nothing. My friends had to call my husband to try to get proof of the order, which he texted to them. Once seeing the documentation they then said they'd make the tower while my friends waited, but it took them almost 40 minutes making them late to the surprise party. It's surprising that it took that long as they are just placing macarons in a plastic holder that creates the tower. The tower they tried to assemble also did not fit all 65 macarons and had weird spaces, so I suspect they didn't really deliver the usual level of quality. At the end of this ordeal the employees then tried looking for the order information again, which seemed a little strange at this point, and finally found it printed out in a binder. They then told my friends this which was pretty frustrating after waiting all this time and almost giving away the surprise party. I hate having to update my review, but they really need to improve their large order process so this doesn't happen to others or not take large orders that have to be fulfilled on a deadline. If you want one of the towers for a special occasion, I'd recommend making sure you are not picking it up on a deadline. read more

I have tried a lot of macarons from a lot of different places and these are the best! Vanilla may sound like a basic flavor, but that was by far the best vanilla I have ever tasted. Fruity pebbles and toasted coconut were also fantastic. I cannot wait to go back to Seattle just to get these again. The woman working was also so nice and we had a great conversation. WHAT A GENIUS INVENTION. Macaroons and champagne? Wow how did no one else think of this? It's a cute shop right under Amazon with amazing decor. The vibe is cute and interesting with a good amount of seating. They had a million flavors of macaroons to choose from, like lavender, unicorn, salted caramel, and chocolate. The champagne was delicious as well. The person working was super friendly and didn't mind our group coming in just a couple minutes before closing. Came here to meet with a friend for drinks, I know this is a weird spot for drinks but I enjoyed my lovely Wednesday happy hour in this little cute and cozy place. The cashier lady was a sweetheart, she made our experience so much better. I had a glass of champagne and tasted the cocktail that they were trying to get on the menu. If you know or don't know what a macaron is, it really doesn't matter go try them at this place, I can eat 200 of them and go into a coma. Make sure to try the raspberry champagne one! Soft chewy sweet and tangy all at the same time. You won't regret it. read more

Great ambience to hang out for a quick dessert. The macarons were delicious. The service wasn't was good until the girl with purple hair came into work. The girl who was helping us wasn't too attentive and seemed like she was annoyed when we asked her to check up on our coffees (at this point we waited about 20 mins for our dripped coffee). The girl with purple hair was very nice and attentive and even realized no coffee spoons were provided to us which the first girl didn't noticed. We also asked for more creamer and that's when the first girl took us the entire bottle of creamer...which seemed a little unprofessional and confirmation that she was annoyed. read more

This place is so cute! My sister brought me here during my visit to Seattle. We got ten macarons, a glass of the house Rosé, and a glass of the house champagne for three of us. The champagne was good but a little on the sweeter side. The rosé was okay, it was just a standard rosé. My favorite flavors of the macarons were raspberry Chardonnay, Shindig, and cinnamon roll! The texture of the macarons is so soft and the right amount of chewy. The fillings are not overly sweet and are very light. I would definitely come back here. read more

Lady Yum was born in 2011 as a custom cake business. We morphed into a French macaron shop and opened our first store in Kirkland in 2014. In 2017 we opened on 6th Ave on Seattle and at Seatac Airport.

Meet the Business Owner: Megan W.

I grew up in a small town called Hoonah, Alaska and left for college at PLU in 1999. After graduation, I worked in the finance industry until 2011, when the need for more meaningful work became unavoidable. It was then that I started Lady Yum. My favorite things are French macarons, wine, passionate people, and community - which is precisely why I opened the Lady Yum shop in Kirkland. I have the best job EVER!
