Ordered take out on a cold day for some hot soup & hot dishes. The lady who answered the phone was very friendly and made sure to repeat back the whole order with our spice level choices, to make sure everything was correct, and asked for our phone number & name before hanging up. To me this shows they value accuracy in the ordering system, which is important to the customer when it comes to ordering things to go. Tom Kha soup (hot spice level)- Delicious! However, a bit too sweet and could've been more sour. I also wish they used straw mushrooms but it's hard to find places that do that. Despite all that, ugh it was a wonderful, creamy, spicy soup on a cold gray day to clear the sinuses just enough and warm mah belleh! Pad Woon Sen (medium spice level)- I'd never had this before and it was a pleasant surprise. It looked simple. Very thin glass noodles with a ton of freshly cooked, vibrant vegetables, & beef. As I ate it, it just kept getting better and better. It's a perfect balance of meaty, veggie goodness, with maybe a soy sauce type of base? Usually I like strong, bold flavors, but the simplicity of this dish won me over! I only wish the portion was bigger. Jungle noodles (spicy spice level)- Woo-wee, now that is some spice! Great for those who can handle it (once upon a time I was one of these people), but a bit too much for my aging gut nowadays. If I think beyond the level 4 spice that I will not do again, the flavor of these noodles was pleasant and I really liked the chewy texture. I'd order this again at a level 2 or 3. I wish the portion was a bit bigger too, though. Overall I enjoyed everything and would love to come back!

A night out in the Greenwood area meant somewhere for dinner and Thai is always a good option. There is some street parking in the area if you're lucky but if not there is some private lot parking as well. The inside is not big but is pretty cozy and intimate. GREEN BEAN ($10) - There was a good crunch on the green beans and it was garlicky. I really liked the sauce/glaze on it and this was one of my favorite dishes. 5/5 PAD THAI ($12) - I thought this was just okay. It's slightly too sweet which is not the flavor profile I want in my pad thai but it was saucy and not dry. 3/5 PANANG CURRY ($12) - I really liked this dish and I caught myself going for seconds and thirds for the curry, way more often than some of the other dishes. Note that it doesn't come with rice so you'll have to order that separately. 5/5 FAMOUS CHICKEN ($14) - When one of the dishes is named famous chicken and it's a best seller, we had to order it. It was nice and crispy and was pretty good. 4/5 FIERY CRISPY DUCK ($18) - It was very crispy and I liked the added basil on top. The sauce that came with it was delicious as well. 4.5/5 TOM YUM SOUP ($12) - This was soup-er flavorful (pun intended) and was very refreshing given all the other heavier dishes we ordered. 4.5/5 KUA GAI NOODLE ($15) - I thought this was an okay dish and it was nice to get some seafood for variation. 3/5 For most of the food we ordered level 3 spice but it didn't taste very spicy at all. This feels like just a typical Thai restaurant in Seattle, maybe slightly above average with some of their specialty dishes.

I'm not sure what happened, Laem Buri has been a go to Thai spot in Seattle for me and my family since we moved to Seattle years ago. I've noticed a continuous decline in quality since the pandemic. Tonight we ordered out and I just was so disappointed. The curry is now half the portion in size it used to be, quality of food seemed lower than it used to, and everything was just very bland other than chili spice and not as flavorful as it used to be. It's really disappointing to see a local favorite slip. I've been hoping it was just a lull in quality but it appears to be an unending spiral.

How I heard of this place: Back in 2018, we started a bi-weekly practice of having family dinners at Laem Buri with friends who "adopted" us as their children/grandchildren. They brought a meal over to our house, originally, from Laem Buri. From that moment on, we were hooked. Ambiance: Modern and sleek, comfortable and cozy, the restaurant, found inside a stretch of Greenwood Avenue strip mall-like shops and restaurants, is certainly worth a visit. Or two. Heck, ten! Owned by a husband, who's name graces the establishment, and his wife, they have striven to give the neighborhood eatery a place to eat well, in a setting that is cozy, warm and intimate, while still catering to the plethora hipsters roaming about. What I ordered: Having come and gone every second week (or at least once per month) for over a year in 2018 and 2019, prior to the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic, we had ample opportunity to sample most of the menu. Among our favorite dishes, are the fried rice (any of them), Pad Woonsen, Pad Kee Mao, and the spicy Pad See Eiw. We love their seasonal Mango Sticky Rice, coconut ice cream, and thoroughly enjoyed the sauteed green beans appetizer. What I loved: Most anything we have ordered has been wonderfully superb. We enjoy a little spice to a lot of spice, and are able to obtain a variety of taste preferences to satisfy everyone in our party - from the littlest to the eldest (3 years old to 73 years old)! Pad Woonsen tends to remain a top favorite, as does the Basil Fried Rice. Their Tom Kha soup is also a savory hit in the colder months (if not always). Why I loved it: The staff are friendly and warm, the owners - as much family as hosts - are wonderfully sweet, warm, friendly and so lovely. Their food is definitely worth returning for, and can easily stand on its own. Cost: Average ($10-$15 per generous entree)

4.5 Thai good restaurants are usually tough to mess up. Generally a Thai restaurant will be at least decent and you have nothing to really complain about. Then there the over the top so good you're raving to your friends about it. Lawn Buri to me feels in between these this range. It's better than your average Thai restaurant and what puts it over the top for me is the crispy duck and famous chicken. Every dish that you would normally order at a Thai restaurant was straight solid exactly what it should taste like. The crispy duck and famous chicken was just so flavorful and good, I wanted to keep the whole plate for myself even though I was sharing family style. Definitely get these dishes if you get the chance!

Bomb.com/delicious#scruptious is what this place is! We live up the street and usually ordered from other Thai places. This one popped up on Eat24 and we are so thrilled! We order 2 times a week now if not more. Such an upgrade from the place it was before and a much needed addition to greenwood. read more

Fave Thai place around - I work down the street and get takeout probably once every two weeks. Their tofu is always perfection, veggies are fresh and crisp, level two spiciness is enough to give a kick. Plus, they're usually super fast and ready with my order. Love this place! read more

Delicious and the staff is so friendly! We got the pineapple fried rice and the pad see ew and at first we didn't think the pineapple friend rice had enough curry so they graciously took it back to the kitchen and re-made it without hesitation and then it was perfect! Also, the mango sticky rice is amazing. We will definitely be back. read more

Picked up a takeout order, a soup and an entree. Average taste and portion sizes. Would be getting a 3 star review if it weren't for the diarrhea if immediately got after eating the soup. Waited a while then reheated the entree, continued the have diarrhea for a few hours after eating both items. Guessing I have a mild case of food poisoning. I'll be taking my business to Thai Tom in the U district. read more

Love this place. Dine in or take out. My favorite dishes include the grilled beef salad and the famous chicken, but I dig their curry dishes, wok dishes, and wide rice noodle dishes. Haven't tried the pad Thai though! In store employees are super nice as well as the delivery folks! read more

I've been here a few times and really love their food, atmosphere and customer service...especially compared to the pre-existing Thai restaurant that was here. Like other reviewers said, I'm pretty picky about Thai food when it comes to quality, and this place delivers for sure! It's become my go-to after work spot. I also have a feeling that this business is only going to improve over time as they're just settling in. You should give them a shot! I highly doubt you'll be disappointed! (Awesome pad Thai, and a bunch of different curries and wok dishes to choose from!) read more

Service is unbelievablely slow. I've been here since maybe about 630 and it's been an hour and I have still yet to receive my entree, pad see ew. I'm with here with one other person and the restaurant is moderately busy. I literally have no clue what's taking so damn long. I feel bad for the party of 6 who have to be somewhere at 8pm and have yet to receive their food. They came slightly after we did. I want to like this restaurant but they absolutely have to have better and faster service. read more

Pretty empty. Not sure if it's a comment or it was just early. The food was ok in the end. But the chicken satay was raw when it arrived and the tea was unsteeped. Avocado curry was retry good, though a little runny. read more

This is just for the takeout. I ordered the same items twice a few months apart. They were ready with my order very quickly (nice, but likely pre-made base). The panang curry is where it's at! Massaman curry was kind of meh. A bit on the expensive side, but this will likely be a staple for takeout thai in our area! read more

The Garlic Chicken is amazing! I live 2 blocks from this place and discovered it last year- SO happy I did as I now have a go-to place for awesome Thai food. Service is always friendly and when I call to place a takeout order, it's ready be the time I walk down there. Dining is is also great- super clean with minimalist decor, which I prefer. read more

This place is my new jam! I have ordered here quite a few times recently, and have not been disappointed. The Panang Curry is terrific...I've had it with shrimp and chicken so far and I can't seem to stop ordering it! The crab fried rice is excellent as well and even tastes great the next day! Try the crab wontons....they are perfectly crispy and creamy-crabby! I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu at this exceptional establishment! read more

I've eaten here many times and it's one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Seattle. The food is fantastic, the staff is always friendly and great, and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Try the wok fried Rama and Kee Mao noodles. Also, be sure to ask about the spice levels though because it's authentic Thai style. At most restaurants I can do 3-4 stars but here 2 is my sweet spot read more

Ordered from eat24 so I can't attest to service, etc. Delivery speed was fair, but meals didn't come with napkins or utensils. The tl;dr of it is that the food just wasn't that good. Basil fried rice was okay. Not bad, not special. The pad kee mao didn't taste or look very fresh; the shrimps were darker than normal and the green peppers were an off color (also scant; plenty of onions, but a lack of every other vegetable). There were a random couple of broccoli pieces which made it feel like they just threw in whatever veggies they had left sitting from the day. We also ordered the garlic peppered calamari which was probably the most disappointing because there was literally no pepper or garlic to it. :/ Came with a basic sweet and sour sauce. I just don't know why you'd call it garlic pepper if you're not going to include either of those ingredients?? Just change the name to fried calamari or something so you're not misleading your customers. read more

This was our first time trying Laem Buri and I think we ordered half the menu we had so much food. We ordered for delivery. The online ordering was easy and allowed for specific instructions on each dish. It's a great system and provides a status of your order any time you want an update. The delivery came earlier than promised as well. We had several curries that were very good. We also ordered brown rice for some and that was a good thing because we got very little steamed rice. I think they assumed we had plenty of rice maybe. Anyhow, The Famous Chicken and Crab fried rice were great! Also loved the noodle soup. All the dishes were quite good and I recommend going back. read more

This place is fantastic. We came in for a Tuesday evening dinner and left full of great food at a fair price. The veggie spring rolls were nicely crisped and filled with a good balance of noodle and vegetable, my pad kee mao was on point with the perfect amount of smoky savory sauce on the veggies and crispy tofu pieces, boyfriend had the pad Thai and said it was wonderful as well and not overly sweet. We shared the fried banana with coconut ice cream and the black sticky rice as desserts, neither disappointed. If we weren't from out of town this would be our new Thai spot. read more

This restaurant is delicious. I've eaten a lot of Thai and their food is particularly good. We went for lunch on a weekday and it was empty, but there was only one guy working, and he was the waiter and cook. At least you know the food's super fresh! We ordered Duck Curry, Chicken Phad Thai, and Pineapple Curry. We had out delivered via Yelp24. The food arrived hot, and with generous portions. We ordered everything at 2 stars, it ran a bit hot, but we were fine with spice. The only thing we would add, is a side of peanut sauce. read more

We ordered pad Thai, pumpkin curry, and avocado curry and all were delicious. The service was quick and great. We will definitely come back for more delicious food. Went back the second time and got the famous chicken and coconut ice cream for dessert. So good!!!! read more

My fresh tofu soup was admittedly a bit "Zen" (read: plain), but I'm a fan of that understated vibe. The real star, though? The black rice pudding. It was so good I actually stopped to admire the decorative bowl it came in--a sign of a truly elite dessert. My son, admittedly a picky eater, however, ordered the fried chicken and was thrown into a brief existential crisis when it arrived with a sweet sauce. He was fully prepared for a savory-crunchy showdown, and not at all the fault of the restaurant. My family enjoyed his leftovers.

The front desk server, Tar, asked to see my wife's ID--even though she's 36 years old and we weren't seated in the bar area. It felt inconsistent, especially since younger guests nearby weren't asked, and it's something we've never experienced at their other locations. Unfortunately, moments like that made us feel singled out, and honestly it sometimes feels like they tend to pick on Asians, whether intentional or not. That feeling alone made the experience uncomfortable and will likely make this our last visit to this location. That said, the table service was excellent. Moo took great care of us, and Cece from the bar was attentive and kept our water filled throughout the meal. Unfortunately, there were a few moments that took away from the experience. While I was taking photos of our dishes, a young staff member alongside Tar appeared to be giggling and mocking me, which made things uncomfortable. It may not have been intentional, but it didn't feel professional and only added to the awkward atmosphere we already felt. Food-wise, there were some inconsistencies. The chicken didn't taste as good as we remember, and several plates had visible fingerprints, which was off-putting. The galvanized metal plates also gave off a slightly unrefined feel--more like cafeteria-style serving ware. Additionally, the sticky rice, which is usually presented in a traditional bamboo basket, was served in a Ziploc bag, which felt like a downgrade in presentation. On a positive note, the papaya salad and pad Thai were still very good and delivered the flavors we expect. We'll continue supporting Isarn, but we'll likely return to the Kirkland or Lynnwood locations next time. Sadly, after this experience, this Queen Anne visit will probably be our last.

TLDR: Long black hair in my curry. And Celery and iceberg lettuce in the salad, yuck. I really wanted to like Laem Buri. Ordered the Avocado curry and the Poh Tak seafood Salad. The seafood salad had a nice taste to it, but had no Romaine lettuce as advertised but rather iceberg and limited leaf lettuce. In addition, it had celery which does not belong in Thai food in my experience and extensive travel in Thailand. In short, cheap fillers everywhere in the salad. The Avocado curry was an interesting adaptation of green curry and while pretty tasty, was too sweet and not pungent enough as most thai food is in the US. Part way through I noted a long black hair in the curry, and my own hair is very short and light brown. I had take out, I don't expect much service for take out but I noted there was no Thank you, just hand you the food and be off with you. Yet another Americanized Thai food restaurant that is a poor representation of one of the world's great cuisines. read more
