My favorite Thai restaurant in the area was Bai Tong in Tukwilla and I have searched in Seattle for something closer with not much success until I came across Laem Buri - the menu made it hard to choose but the server said that the Kao Soi was a staple in her home city - SOLD! I decided to go for the 4 stars even though I normally go for 5. The is some of the best curry I've ever had - I suspect they used Kafir Lime leaves in the cooking as they provide a smoothness you don't get that often. And the heat level was perfect (for the record, I will go 5 star next time just for comparison). And if you're looking for a starter - the green beans - SOOO GOOOOD! I dined inside when they first opened and had a positive customer service experience. There was a younger woman with short black hair who was very kind. At the time I was mostly vegetarian so I ordered a pho with veggies only. The waitress seemed a bit concerned and after tasting the pho I realized the veggie/broth combination made it bland. Most recently I placed an order by phone and Ann answered. She asked me to repeat my name several times. I spoke slowly and then she asked me to spell it out. When I arrived to pick up my order there were two couples dining. I went to pay and it took Ann a few minutes to hand me my change and my food. Once I arrived home and I tasted the pad see ew it was so spicy that I had to throw it away! I checked my receipt and it's a level 2 spicy which I assume should be bearable. Love the pad woon sen here. Though last time, I felt it shockingly had too many veggies and tofu (gasp, the horror!) and not enough noodles (by reasonable standards, they had plenty). And then they were gone too fast, and I lamented their loss, craving more. Please offer an option for noodle gluttons? Curries also good. As is the obligatory order of crab (cheese!) wantons. I keep meaning to try many other dishes, but the basil fried rice is so good, I haven't been able to break away. The basil fried rice comes moist and full of flavor. I did once get the Panang curry with chicken, and it was a great balance of sweet and nutty. One notable thing is that the chicken in all the dishes is excellent quality, tender and tasty. I've just taken off one star because the fried rice isn't consistent--sometimes it appears brownish from sauce, and tastes more flavorful, while other times it's paler and less flavorful. I've only ever had takeout, so I can't speak to the atmosphere or experience, but it looks perfectly nice from my brief trips in to pick up. If you're in the Greenwood area, this should be your go-to Thai. It handily beats some of the competition in the broader neighborhood. read more

I was craving Thai and happened to be in Greenwood. This was the first place that came up in Yelp. With only 50 reviews, I was a tad suspect of the quality thinking it was a hole in the wall. Luckily I was wrong. The food was delicious. Fresh. Perfect portions. Perfect flavor. Really loved the spicy beef salad. The Tom Kha soup was also tasty but it has onions which some people don't like. I'd also suggest to order less stars. On Jan 10th I got amazing Pad Thai - perfect amount of sauce used during the fry, not watery or runny, the noodles had a sheen resulting from whoever was behind the wok putting the right amount of sauce, and of course waiting until the wok was hot enough. The chicken had clearly undergone a Maillard reaction, was a perfect golden brown. Tonight, the pad Thai was miserable and runny. When too much sauce is thrown in there and the wok isn't hot enough it stops the rice noodles from having the chewy springy bite that they should. Whoever is on noodle duty tonight manning the wok, you're really screwing up. No Maillard reaction whatsoever on the chicken, completely pale and sad. read more

I ordered the pad Thai 2 stars, it was good but I like mine spicy so I should have ordered 4 star. There is better Thai food out there in Seattle! Perhaps it's because we got take out, but I was not impressed by Laem Buri. I called in my order and waiting about 30 minutes before picking up our food. I didn't mind the delay, but I do recommend calling in earlier than you think, so you don't get too hangry. We got the: chicken satay, shrimp fresh rolls, chicken panang and pad kee mao. The chicken satay was so dry and flavorless - that was the first disappointing dish. The shrimp fresh rolls were probably the best of the bunch. The chicken satay had way too much coconut milk, and had no kick to it - there needed to be a perfect balance between the spice and coconut milk. The mad kee mao was pretty sad - with some noodles, but it ended up being mostly veggies with a side of noodles. Not as disappointing because they did warn us that it would mostly be veggies since we requested no tofu. Why they couldn't add some more noodles (and charge me extra) is beyond me. Overall, I likely won't be eating here again, as I know many other amazing Thai spots in the area. read more

This review is regarding a takeout order and not dine-in experience. I called the restaurant at about 12:00pm to order lunch for my coworkers. They take down your number and name, then kindly state how long it will take. I ordered the Phad Kee Mao Chicken (three out of five star spice), my coworker wanted the Phad Kee Mao Beef and the other entree was a Chicken Phad Thai (no spice with a side of white rice). The order came out to $38 which isn't too bad. I ran an errand while waiting for the food to be made. About 10 minutes later came to pick-up the order- can you say they're super speedy?! It's crazy. The Phad Kee Mao was good, tasty, flavorful- however the noodles were overdone and soggy. I do appreciate the amount of chicken and veggies. Not only do you get tomatoes and broccoli but also red bell peppers, mushrooms and onions in your dish! My coworker strongly agreed with this opinion of her Phad Kee Mao. Hopefully next time the gal remembers to get me a small side of those red chili flakes I wanted. She forgot but it's okay! read more

These are some of the nicest and most understanding staff ever. Just a few visits in and they already remember that I have a gluten problem and use appropriate allergy precautions. Delivery range is excellent and they always deliver early (though I usually pick up in-restaurant). One time I forgot to specify gluten free, and I ate it and didn't get sick anyway! Gosh! We love this place! After a horrible farmed salmon dish that smelled like formaldehyde at Thai Thani in Ballard, we struck out to find this fantastic Thai restaurant. They follow every request I have with the main one "ground chicken". Makes dishes more presentable (to me) and easier to eat. Their food is so fresh and well cooked, I usually branch out to try dishes I've never tried before. Their spicy chicken - holy goodness!!! Yah, it's fried but can't resist. Tried them as an alternative to to usual go to. The delivery person was awesome, and the fee was quite reasonable compared to the crazy fees that the other delivery vendors. We had a seafood with broccoli and cabbage dish, Phad Thai and a Rama selection. I didn't care for the peanut sauce being separated from the rest of the dish, but all of the dishes were fine, but the portions were quite a bit smaller than what we are used to. read more

Recently moved to the area and was really missing Naam Thai (Central District favorite). Decided to postmates Laem Buri to get my Kee Mao fix. It was not great. The only vegetables were carrots and very tough green beans. And I mean tough. I will preface with the fact that I am not typically a fan a green beans, but always eat them because they are healthy, I picked them all out. I was left with Tofu and rice noodle. Typically there are onions, broccoli, bell peppers, etc. It was also a very sad pale color with minimal sauce, it felt more like rice noodles with oil on them. Haven't decided if I should give this place another try and risk another $15, but the great reviews have me hopeful that it was an off night.
