Food was good but the location is odd. It's easy to miss from the street so you have to look for signage and enter the courtyard. There are not many tables and the tables they do have are cramped. However, our server was very nice. As we were waiting for our food, a few tables emptied and the server did offer to move us to a different table if we wanted. We hadn't said anything but I imagine some people would ask to switch tables. The sushi wasn't as good as the few sushi restaurants we visited in Oahu but we loved our meal and would definitely eat here again. read more

Tonight was our first experience at this quaint sushi restaurant in the heart of Lahaina on Front Street. I grew up in the restaurant business with both parents as chefs so I am pretty particular. The staff is amazing and never skipped a beat. We were guided through the menu and our waiter chose the perfect options for us. My two top favorites were the Poke Tacos and the Cajun Roll. We are big sushi fans, we went to this place based on the other reviews but we didn't like it at all. The fish portion in the rolls was so little and they put too much rice and too much cucumber. Fresh fish and great service but they charge premium prices for poor quality sushi. Tuna nigiri was served with chewy connective tissue attached. Maki rolls were extremely sloppy with rice falling out the sides and rolls coming undone. We left hungry and went to a different restaurant. read more

Amazing little place tucked away in the Mariner's Alley complex across from Kimo's on Front Street. The owner and his wife are so nice, they make the place great...in addition to the quality sushi. This is my new favorite sushi on Maui! You must try the Lahaina Roll and the Sushi Ko Roll. They keep the menu simple so they can make each item exceptionally well. New fav little place to visit while in Maui. Love the cool location tucked back inside a courtyard and surrounded by an art gallery. The staff was awesome! It's a BYOB situation since they're newly opened and still working on their liquor license- ok by me! We had a table of 7 that included 4 adults, 2 kids and a baby. We loved the ALL the rolls we ordered. The sashimi was good size servings and very fresh. Two you by guys were playing their guitars and signing 90's tunes. A return trip to Lahaina Sushi Ko was as good as expected. Mixed Poke bowl was crazy good. It was a nice surprise to have a local young musician playing some cool tunes as well. We had a party of 15 that had originally been told no on our reservation time but the owner Robert was so amazing and got us the reservation time we wanted so our entire party could be involved. Everything we tried here was delicious. I expected rolls to be six or eight pieces each, but all of their specialty rolls were much larger - perhaps 12 pieces - so that was a pleasant surprise. One specialty role was really enough for a meal. So we over ordered not knowing that but then happily over ate to compensate. The fish was very fresh. My favorite was a roll with slices of fresh jalapeño on top (can't remember the name). Was definitely spicy but addictively so. Rainbow roll, shrimp tempura roll, California roll and seaweed salad also very good. Great sushi, fast service, and reasobale prices given the prime Front Street location. read more

It was a hot humid day and my family and our guests were craving sushi after several hours of shopping in Lahaina! We googled Sushi Lahaina and this new restaurant popped up...so we thought we would give it at try! We followed the directions on GPS and thought we kept missing the place...we finally figured out it was way deep inside a shopping center...literally a hole in the wall in the very back! Upon entering we were a bit skeptical, but the crew was hungry and I was more thirsty than hungry so we sat down for a taste. We were graciously greeted as we were the only ones seated and our drink orders were immediately taken. We looked at the menu and I just wanted something light...the girls were hungrier. Three of the girls ordered poke bowls, one ordered the caterpillar roll and I got the seaweed salad and fried salmon skin! Salmon skin is fish bacon ;). I tried some Japanese beer and my wife ordered passionfruit hard cider...both were unique and delicious...the tuna in the poke was sooo fresh!! My friends and I needed a place to celebrate and decided Lahaina Sushi Ko would be the perfect place. We got there as Robyn instantly sat us at the long table. Our server, Adam, came over right away to introduce himself and let us know the specials. We got poke tacos, which were hands down, the best any of the three of us had ever had. We also got the sweet and spicy roll, the Haleakala roll, and the spicy tuna roll. All of them were delicious. They were fresh, original, and largely portioned. Not only was the food delicious and the staff friendly, but the location was continent and the ambiance was spot on. I HIGHLY recommend Lahaina Sushi Ko, it is my new favorite sushi restaurant in island and I will surely be a frequent diner. Three thumbs up! read more

We tried this place out based on the reviews. It's a very small restaurant in the middle of an art gallery. We ordered shortly after we sat down. We ordered three rolls to split between the two of us. It took an hour to prepare the three rolls. There are two sushi chefs and maybe 6 tables. We still can't figure out what took so long as none of the other tables sat down at the same time as us and others already had food. The sushi was fresh and tasted good but nothing extraordinary. I didn't want to eat at a Japanese steak house, and, randomly, a customer at a flip flop store said his friends owned this place and told me where it was. This place is situated downstairs from Dirty Monkey and next to an art gallery in an open air setting. It is very cute, quaint, and off the beaten path. Chef Sarah and her team were a pleasure. after several horrific meals at our resort we were desperate for a massive pick me up experience.
