We just stayed here and had a great experience. The beds were comfy, room was spacious and the toilet and bathtub are separated from sink. I like that in a room. They do take dogs, so we had our Jack Russell with us and got a first floor room. Sliding glass door out to grass and lake view was great. I will say that room 16 does not have a screen on it which would have been nicer. Wifi must have gotten better than previous reviews because we had no problem with it. Grocery store and laundromat right next door. Overall stay was really nice! We also went for dinner and everything great they say about the clam chowder is right. Very tasty!! i had clam strips, fries and coleslaw... there is also a salad bar...we all enjoyed our dinner!!! Will stay and eat here again! read more

Very disappointed I was charged for a room I couldn't use got a big runaround from the management was miss led and probably lied to but cant prove it rooms not real clean but tolerable in the past. Not so much any more They don't even maintain an email address you can use to try to communicate with the management as I think all of my correspondence has been diverted from upper management as I cant believe they really don't care about there customers especially at the coast where your customers are what keep you alive. Wow. Where do i start? New owners of two months so maybe there will be an improvement down the road. We did not eat in the restaurant so my review regards the room. The only thing supplied in bathroom is soap and towels. Towel were large and not stiff at all. The pillows were the size of padded mail envelopes. They did bring two additionl ones. All six equaled 2 small ones. No kleenix in room. No phone in room. No local info in room. No TV guide in room. Everyone has different needs for mattresses. Mine was fine. 1 key needed to be remade every time it was used. There is a refrig and microwave. There is no air. There is no screen on sliding door so could not leave open. They did bring a fan for last night. Outlets were pretty plentiful but no USB ports. There is a large dresser if you are here for dunes or beach. I'm not sure which is the cherry on the top, the gigantic spider on floor this morning or the fire alarm going off every couple of hrs over night. Mostly it shut off after 1 to 2 minutes but 5 am bought about 4 min one. Ceilings are probably 10 ft high. Desk person wanted to know if we could reach it to pull it down. NO. Bring a ladder? NO. Staff was always nice and responsive. A little language barrier but got thru it. At about $90 per night, i will be asking for refund due to limited sleep from alarm. Would never recommend. read more

I live here in Lakeside and the food and pizza are the best in town. The service is great, nice view of the lake.

Went to the restaurant yesterday and had a good meal. The place is nicely appointed, the service was excellent and the hostess was very friendly. I recommend the clam chowder...VERY good. My friend and I went on a "spur of the moment" road trip from San Diego to Lakeside Oregon to surprise her Mom for Mothers Day. The surprise was successful and the added bonus was to have the opportunity to stay at this Friendly, Quiet, Lodge with excellent personalized Service. Staff was accommodating ; above and beyond the norm. Setting directly on a beautiful lake was so relaxing. The most valuable "Lakeside Secret" we learned about was an UNBEATABLE Sunday Chicken Fry! Make sure to confirm that Manfred (Manny) is cooking. Everything here is up to Standard. But the "hands on" Owners, Employees & Cooks at this Lodge are what earned my SOLID 5 STAR rating. read more

As local just moving to lakeside we tried the food at the lodge with my family and it was the worst we have ever had prime rib was uneatable shrimp over cooked service was a complete joke kids liked the cheese burger and chicken tenders only complaint they had was soda was flat but we will never and i mean never set foot in there for a family meal again ill be happy to drive out of town for dinner with family on next outing read more

The owners own the restaurant and motel. They dont offer a continental breakfast or even a discount when you stay at their Motel. Food is expensive, good but not remarkable. They are chinsy on the coffee packets left in the room. 1 packet that makes a tiny little pot of coffee. I may try the other motel down the road next time. read more

We are new to Lakeside and we love coming here for any meal of the day! The service is wonderful and the food is quite excellent. The people that come here are friendly. We have also stayed at the lodge while house hunting and enjoyed our experience. The rooms were cozy and clean with a beautiful view of the lake. Traveling with family that included our 4 kids 18-23 yrs old. Got two rooms that were adjoined which was great felt like we had a big suite. Rooms were clean and bed was really comfy. Great having a grocery store across the parking lot so we could get snacks and light breakfast food. Room included fridge and microwave. It's a little outdated for some peoples tastes buy everything was clean and tidy. Checkin was easy and quick. Didn't use boat rentals but there right next door. Son enjoyed lounge that was on property locals were friendly and he said drinks were reasonable. Overall great stay. We were just traveling the coast so didn't do much in lakeside. read more

We didn't stay at the motel but did eat at its restaurant. My husband grew up in Lakeside and frequented this restaurant with his grandparents as a child. He said grandpa would come here to get his claim chowder fix. Lol. But I understand why. They have an awesome tasting clam chowder. Service was a bit slow but the food was good. American fare...good sized kids meals. Pepsi products...no Mt. Dew tho. Awesom hot chocolate. We adults ate the Monday night special of all you can eat spaghetti dinner. The kids hot dog was huge. My son said the philly was good and daughter said the tenmile burger was okay...A bit bland. We sat at the big windows lakeside. The view was awesome. Until moving to Lakeside, we would stay at the Lakeshore Lodge, sometimes renting additional rooms for family and had a fabulous time. You can't beat the view, comfort, convenience, and affordable price. Since moving here, we recommend it to our friends. The friendly staff and excellent food keeps us going back and when we want clam chowder, Lakeshore Lodge is where we go! As huge fans of chowder, my husband and I have tried it from Florence to Bandon and have yet to find better. It comes highly recommended by us (and it's all you-can-eat on Wednesdays)! read more

Went for ribs last night with our friends. They either changed cooks or are buying inferior foods now. The ribs were tough and cool - not hot. I decided to try their (lukewarm flavorless) egg flower soup - even salt couldn't fix it. When we asked for bread we were told it is now extra - $2.50 for two pieces. Huh? Needless to say, after going here for over 4 years, it is now off our "cool" places to go list. Hate to even give it one star. read more

We stayed in the motel a couple of nights. It was comfortable and quiet. There is nothing extra special except you do have a peaceful view of the lake. They could update the rooms a bit, we noticed the sliding glass door was extremely difficult to open as was the screen door. Some maintenance definitely needed. WiFi is horrible. read more

Could use some updates but comfortable. The food is good home cooked mom and pop menu. I have tried many of their dishes and have never been disappointed. I must say that the wait is long for your food to be prepared and brought to you so if you are in a big hurry that may be a problem but it is worth the wait. Staff is extra friendly and the view of the lake is not so bad too. Overall I highly recommend the Lakeshore Lodge to others if you want a fresh home cooked meal. We recently celebrated our 50th anniversary and the Lakeshore Lodge (Alice & Daron Weathers, owners) catered our event. Everything exceeded our expectations - the setup of the restaurant, the presentation of the food, the attentions to detail was perfect! Over 60 people attended and buffet was always fresh, the wait staff were on the spot with beverages. Just can't say enough about the first class attention to detail that the Weathers and their staff provided to us. We have also enjoyed many other meals in the restaurant and never a complaint - the food is excellent! We hadn't eaten at this place for a long time and once again I was very disappointed. There was a total of 11 of us and by the time they finished bring out all the food for everyone some of us were already done eating. I ordered their Halibut almond special which consists of a tablespoon of over cooked vegetables , rice that was cold. And all of this for $17. People don't waste your money and take the time to drive to Coos Bay or Reedsport for a good meal worthy of $17. read more

I notice all the great reviews are for the Lakeshore's restaurant. We visited the restaurant and received friendly service and the food was excellent. I would easily give it 5 stars! The hotel is a different matter . We stayed in the hotel last night for one night and my husband woke up with bed bug bites! He was covered in them! We showed the hotel staff the pictures of his back and they said they would be bug bombing the room. Beware of Room 24! I would avoid their laundromat too. A quarter for 5 minutes on the dryer is a bit ridiculous . read more

I am so surprised by the cranky reviews. This place met our needs great. True, it is not a 5 star hotel, but you're not paying for one. There were three things we loved about our stay there. First, the people who work there were so nice! I felt like I went back in time to when people aren't always starting at screens and in a rush. The receptionist, and the waitresses were old fashioned friendly. Second, they let us bring our dog! My family had been camping in the nonstop rain, so we were wet and muddy, including the dog, and they welcomed us anyway. THIS IS A GREAT PLACE IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH DOGS! Lots of hotel allow dogs, but there is nowhere to walk them except in the parking lot. We played fetch with our dog in the ample lawn and she jumped off the dock to swim. It was a great bit of excersize before continuing the car ride. Third, dinner was fabulous. The salad bar was not up to Bay Area standards, but the oysters, the steak and the cheesecake were all fantastic. Highly recommended! We will definitely return when traveling through, especially with the dog in tow. read more

This is a layed-back, semi-rustic resort possessing everything to make your overnight or longer stay a happy success. It is a little older facility with a slightly decadent feeling that simply adds to its charm, but its rooms are clean, sanitary, comfortable, and supplied with TV, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, and wifi. Parking is abundant and free. They also have several pet friendly rooms. The grounds are green grass with scattered trees and shrubs, a picnic table or two, and a narrow pier leading to a floating dock that provides mooring for guests' boats or fishing for the family. There is also an independent marina next door with boat launch and other amenities. Each room views Tenmile Lake from its rear sliding door, which opens onto a small patio or deck supplied with a couple of lawn chairs. The Lodge has a very good restaurant serving from morning until night, and a convenient cocktail lounge which caters to a good number of locals from whom you can learn all about the surrounding community of Lakeside, the fishing on the lake, and numerous other items of interest. Note that the ocean is only a hop, skip, and a jump away, so if activities on the lake are not to your liking, just mosey down the road to the easily reached beach access points. Rates change with the season, so call ahead. Their high season is June-Sept. Be sure to book well in advance if you plan to visit in this time period. The rest of the year is much less hectic, and you can almost always find a room. DO NOT be in a rush when visiting. The slower pace in and around this community is a refreshing break from the hubbub and tension of big city life. Relax and enjoy it! We plan to again and again. read more
