Lamoranga is the WORST restaurant that I have ever visited! False advertising for sure! As a vegan, I searched for vegan restaurants for dinner in September 2023, while visiting Naples Florida. Lamoranga was the second restaurant that popped up. I first called the restaurant to ask pertaining questions. I was lied to over the phone. I was told there are "several" vegan option for dinner. When I got there, there were only 2! First, a bowl of rice with a few veggies. Secondly, veggies inside coconut milk. Since I was very hungry, I order the latter. The portion vas very small for $28. I was very disappointed. The vegetables were over cooked and mushy! Food tastes like it was a day or two old! I complained to the "owner" a Spanish speaking woman who barely spoke broken English. She actually refused to give me a refund for the awful meal and experience! If you visit the restaurant, plan to waste lots of money on day old food, small portioned, a long with terrible service! also, the restaurants ambiance is dusty old furniture for non- disabled people. The discriminate against the disable who may need to sit in a lower chair! Their chairs are all high! read more

Third time back, food and service very good. Issue with bill with couple joining us; my friend ordered bourbon neat and was billed $26 for drink claiming it was double. Glasses were small, not handled well by management. They refused to budge- would it have killed them to charge $17 for drink. Friday night, date night...we've been wanting to try this restaurant for months now & finally said, let's go tonight. Wow! Garland made the night for us! Note, not only is he a fabulous bartender but he is also the Manager! You wouldn't know it unless you asked. He started by introducing us to a new vodka & said it makes the best Cosmo. So we ordered one. I didn't get the chance to even taste it before he said, no, I don't like it & made me a new one. The wine he recommended was also a hit. We took our wine & left the bar for a table to have dinner. We ordered the sea bass & the black grouper. AGAIN, WOW! Our meals were fantastic! Our meals were abundant in food & delicious! We tried hard to eat all of the fish & then tried to squeeze in the sides. We couldn't do it! But we really wanted to. Our service was impeccable. This is a restaurant you should seek out to have an unique, friendly, fabulous meal. You will NOT be disappointed. We're sorry we haven't been before now & plan on bringing our out of town guests because we KNOW they won't have this type of restaurant available to them in their hometown. Notes to know...it's not just tapas...NOT at all, it's not spicy (unless you want it to be), and most importantly, it's delicious. It's something different from the other restaurants in Naples. Beautiful clean spread out interior, open kitchen, tables and long LED-lit bar... is where we 3 sat. Excellent High West Old Fashion, big ice cube. Now, the food, OMG. My husband, son and myself.. my son and I are foodies. Excellent Lobster Bisque, Foie Gras, and the Chilean Sea Bass all left us slithering under the table/bar. Calamari was fresh, very nice, Brussels were amazing, crab cakes had levels of flavor, meaty, light, nice. Waiter super pleasant and service was excellent. Will definitely be back. This is our second time going to this restaurant. We went early and had happy hour since they had drink specials. Normally will go to a different place since Naples has so many places & deals in off season. Then we went to a table for dinner since they are offering 25% off. The place was empty. When we got the bill it did not have the advertised discount. i asked and Manager and said you can't have both discounts. No signs or small print stating the rules. They could of mentioned when ordering. The Manager could of handled better & need to post the rules. i felt it was a bait & switch. Food was great! We had a nice dinner at Lamoraga, in a modern contemporary setting. For starters, we had pinchos with manchego cheese and the lobster bisque which were both very good. The tomatoes with burata were average as the tomatoes weren't ripe. As entrees we had See bass and fettuccine with lobster which was enough for two of us. Our server was just ok, it felt like he was rushing us while the restaurant was quite empty. For what appears to be a Spanish restaurant, there weren't sufficient traditional tapas on the menu. We had the impression that Lamoraga is more of an American restaurant. Nice experience overall. read more

This restaurant is one of the hidden gems in Naples. Their menu is branded as a combination of "international cuisine and tapas", and the food is consistently excellent. Tucked far away from the crowds of 5th Avenue, the ambience is trendy and the food options are often innovative. Some of the highlights from the food menu that we tried this week include: -Dancing eggplant: one of my favorite vegetable dishes at any restaurant. Although eggplant is often poorly executed at other places, this dish manages to be both flavorful and innovative. The texture of the eggplant is delicate and buttery, and the skin is perfectly crispy. For an extra "wow" factor, the dish is covered with Tobiko flakes (flying fish roe), which "dance" when they contact the steam from the eggplant. The mirin and the sweetness of the honey round out this perfect dish -Scallops: well-seasoned and seared to perfection; served with a delicious, buttery roasted tomato risotto -Chicken rigatoni: the sauce was delicious and savory, and the mushrooms added excellent flavor to the dish -Lamoraga delight: my rule with dessert is to order the one that is listed first on the dessert menu, and this was by far the biggest surprise of the night. Warm and moist, infused with the flavor of coconut and white chocolate, this dish takes bread pudding to the next level. The vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce were also decadent. Overall, another fantastic meal at Lamoraga, with friendly and attentive service. Wonderful experience at Lamoraga! My party of 3 sat inside at a high top table. Loved the ambiance where we sat - but honestly the vibes looked great everywhere! Claudia served us and she helped make our experience great. Very friendly service from her and other staff members. The food was good... we loved our appetizers. The Mediterranean salad was outstanding and the tuna tartare was pretty good too. My entree was good but not great - my grouper was a bit over cooked but what made up for it was the BRUSSELS SPROUTS . You must get them! read more

A Thursday night visit to Lamoraga- I believe this was our 3rd or 4th visit to this beautiful space. Reservations were prompted by Lamoraga's Fb post for their Thursday night paella special ($24). Reservation was for 7:30, I asked at time of reservation if the bar was open for drinks prior to being seated and was assured we could meet for drinks before our 7:30 rez. 7 PM meetup. Check in and tell hostess we will be at the bar. Easily find 2 bar seats and take ribbing from the bartender that we will be "drinks only". Good natured, taken that way- I get it. He got tipped on 6 drinks for 4 people, I don't feel bad for taking the seats and not ordering food. At 7:45 we request our table, which was being held, but they hadn't notified us. Fine, we're ok. Nice table, busy night. Order a bottle of wine, 3 appetizers, 4 Lamoraga paellas. Tried and tasted, shared by 4: Basil Shrimp, Eggplant Blossom, Lamb Skewers. Basil Shrimp was the best of the 3, Eggplant was good, the lamb was tender but could have used seasoning or a sauce. The 3 items were plenty to share as a starter. Items were slow arriving and our waiter did apologize, and it was a busy evening. Lamoraga paella comes as individual servings, very generous servings, delivered from the kitchen, not in a pan on our table. The Lamoraga paella is a mixture of seafood and chorizo. While it was generous, and cooked through it was under seasoned and missing the beautiful soccarrat bottom layer. It appeared we were the last table served for the evening, and we pretty much closed the restaurant out around 10PM. We were not late because we lingered, it was due to being seated late and kitchen delays. All in all an enjoyable evening in a contemporary setting, we all felt it was a good value. I will go back for small plates, but not the paella. Sitting at the counter by the open kitchen would be a great option for 2. Our reservations were made 2 days in advance. I would suggest making weekday reservations earlier than 7 PM. read more

Yet another stellar pick from Open Table. From the moment you walk into the striking atmosphere (open kitchen) tastefully recessed neon lighting, to the nicely diverse wine list to the incredibly fresh tapas and entreés through the delightful desserts, Lamoraga is a phenomenal sensation for the senses. The Calamari is exquisite and the olive tapenade served with the sliced crispy baguette is refreshingly different. From the strikingly presented Melon and Serrano Ham Salad to the velvety Lobster Bisque, Lamoraga is a feast for the palate. The Sea Scallops with Tomato kissed Risotto and Chicken Rigatoni with a Vodka/carbonara sauce were likewise amazing. I have had several disappointments with tapas restaurants in the past and hence was somewhat reluctant to try Lamoraga, but, as Mike had not yet experienced tapas, and the reviews of this one were intriguing, I decided to try it . Last night 6 of us dined at Lamoraga. It was a huge disappointment from the start. While we understand the staffing pressures restaurants are currently having, it seemed odd that our waiter had lots of time to crack jokes and little time to actually help us. We had to ask for the drink list, bread and water. The food was surprisingly bland. The gaspacho and paella had very little spice. The crab stack had no taste at all. When we received our check we realized that for parties of 6 or more a 20% gratuity is added. No wonder we received such poor service! To top it off, our friend ordered paella with a lobster tail (extra $15). They actually charged an extra $5.00 to take it out of the shell. We will never go again. Booked Lamoraga for Christmas Eve not knowing what to expect except what my fellow Yelpers reported. We were seated and greeted promptly and given some time to decide on drinks and the overall menu. We ordered drinks and they came promptly and they were quite good. We ordered 5 different tapas, the seared fois gras was just ok, would be better with something crispy like toast points instead of polenta. Everything else was very good. 2 of us split the seafood paella which had good flavor but it was served in a bowl with no crispy rice. I thought a spanish restaurant would have served it more traditional. Wife had lobster bisque which was very tasty but didn't really have much lobster flavor. All the food came very quick after we ordered it but i asked the server multiple times for a water refill and I finally had to flag someone else down for the water after waiting awhile. I was in Naples for the week of 5/8-5/14 and we decided to save this place for our final dinner and it did not disappoint. Walked in kinda on the late side and was informed the kitchen would close around 830/9pm. We opted to sit at the bar and it was all great up to our last bite. Bar decor was very up to date and sheik. Nick was the bartender I believe and he was so helpful and cool! Couple things that were on the menu as apps that I had to try were the steak tartare and the gazpacho soup. There were 2 different style gazpacho soups that the bartender let us try. One was anchiovie based and the other was your original style gazpacho (i liked the regular one better). The steak tartare was a perfect size for me, the runny quail egg was perfect. The entree I chose was the Mahi Mahi (super fresh). I would have usually devoured a steak of some sort but i needed to go light this time and it was the right decision. I look forward to coming back next time I am in town. Like any new restaurant, it comes with a few initial adjustments. I have mixed feelings about this place, but I have every intention of updating my review in hopes that this restaurant survives in the off-season with the "year-rounders". First off, great location. Visibility is great on 41. However, the contemporary exterior lended itself to be misinterpreted for being a furniture store or a European car dealership. Definitely not a bad thing. I'm hoping that word of mouth for the great food will add to the sexy quality of the grey slate and contemporary font. The interior is gorgeous. Lots of windows=lots of natural light. The kitchen is surrounded by a bar and enclosed in glass. The mixed media of wood, leather, metal all make sense. The use of organic shapes and textures make it very zen and comfortable. Service needs a little tweaking. Our waiter did not seem very knowledgeable about the menu. If he did not know all that the menu offers, I would have liked to see a little more enthusiasm or passion about being at a new establishment. In company of being with co-workers who have not experienced the tapas format, I would have appreciated a run-through of what is offered on the menu. We gave ample opportunity for more dialogue by asking questions such as: Do you have any specials? "No, everything is special." Do you have any recommendations? "No, everything is good on the menu." My guess is that there might have been a communication barrier, perhaps. Needless to say, our waiter was very friendly and courteous. What about the food? Pretty gosh darn amazing. I just have to list out what we had all had shared: Basil wrapped jumbo shrimp in a spicy peanut sauce Calamari (puntillitas) Moorish Lamb Skewers (served with a tabouleh quinoa) Slider combo - beef and marinated pork with varied aioli Iberian Carpaccio with an asian inspired sauce and sesame seeds Salmon Sashimi Tuna Tartar Need I say more? My taste buds were on overdrive. The shrimp rolls were savory and simple, the calamari melted in your mouth like buddahhh, the lamb was so complex and tender, the slider combo was delectable, the carpaccio was the best I've had, the salmon sashimi and tuna tartar were so fresh and bright. Would I come here again? Most definitely. It's nice to see Naples rattled with new and fresh ways to reel in the hipster foodies. Wait. Not sure if there's quite the cult as of yet. My wife & I shared the Slider Combination (one Iberian Pork Slider and one Beef Slider), the Moorish Lamb Skewer, the Langostinos, and Truffle French Fries. Service is terrible even with a different waiter so there is something wrong. Couldn't get another drink. Finally get a drink and it's wrong so when we finally get the waiter everyone at the table is done. Apps come and no plates. Food is standing there 10 minutes before we get a plate. Food comes out and not one person asks if it is acceptable. Just leave it and then they screw. Table of six people and one dinner was absolutely cold and can't find anyone to fix it. READ THIS FIRST: "Very Impressed". The space is great, it is modern and warm at the same time. The open kitchen is in the middle of the floor wrapped with a massive rough-hewn eating bar, and it is a great sign that the food takes center stage in a social and often communal feeling environment. Sure, they have private tables and banquettes but the space lends itself to people relaxing, interacting and having a very nice time. The service was very good and I lacked for nothing. All of the staff was well trained on the menu and professionally trained for fine dining even thought the feel is casual. I tried many great bites while there but there are 3 that I want to share right now. The Cherry Gazpacho is incredibly refreshing and tasty. It is has just the right body without being too heavy or too light. It is topped with a touch of parmesan snow and a couple of pistachios. I started with the spoon but ended up just drinking it as it comes in a glass. The Hamachi Carpaccio is reminiscent of a Nobu dish titled "New Style Sashimi", yet different in execution and arguably better with flavors of shoyu, ginger and garlic and has just the right touch of yuzu or acid. I was really impressed with this dish. I also had the Pork Slider (I believe it is Iberico Pork). This was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor and not dripping in sauce. The only downside to it was, it comes with a small very unmemorable side salad when it is screaming for a small paper cone cup of Mangalista Fries dusted with herbs such as rosemary and thyme. Everything I had, I wanted more of. I will update the review after a few more visits but it is great to have a spot like Lamoraga in what is the mostly drab and conservative Steak and Seafood dining scene of Naples. I speak with confidence because I did work in the restaurant business before and I still working on the service business and we all know the client should be treated with respect..... specially if they are respectful too. I went to the place with my wife to enjoy a month anniversary (excuse to have time together) and I did not make a reservation (maybe my fault) but this friendly girl at the front door was going to get me seated inside and I kindly asked her to be out, she said there is no problem but first let me take a look..... she went to the bar area and in the mean time this dude come to me and wanted to seat me too, I told him someone is helping me already and thank him for asking.... He gave me a look like I was nuts, told me they have a big reservation in the outside and that was impossible..... then he reconsidered the idea and said I can seat you on a high top table but away of the party, the girl cam back and told him she got me a table...... I always have had an amazing dining experience here. This has become a place that I make sure to come to every time I'm in Naples. The service is always great and accommodating. I ordered the basil shrimp as an appetizer and the seafood paella as an entree. You can not go wrong with ordering their paella or any of their fish entrees such as the sea bass or hoggish.
