Finally made an account here just so I could give a good review to this place. The place looks nice upon entry and you are acknowledged and greeted promptly. Everyone working is polite and know what they are doing. I've been wanting to break the norm and show guys can get beauty treatments too. I decided to get a basic manicure and pedicure, which rounded up to $50. Started off with the pedicure and along with the nail work, you get a nice massage on your legs/feet all while sitting in a comfortable massage chair. Most places do this, yes but here they take extra care of you and check if everything is alright, as opposed to the awkward silence other places give you. Moving to manicures, you get your nails done of course, again they always check in on what you want exactly and are extremely careful and thorough. Yvonne took care of me and managed to help fix my cuticles after a bad experiance from a different salon. Of course, moisturizer and massage followed and it was all so relaxing. Working mother's day weekend as a server was tough for me, and this experience was the relaxation I needed. I will certainly come again next time I am in need of a treatment day. I do not live in Santa Barbara but was in the area for the day and had time to kill...so I decided to get a mani-pedi. I looked on yelp for nail salons in the area and decied on Yvonne's Nail Salon. I have to say, I was so happy to have made my choice! I went early in the morning (around 10:30am) called before I drove over and Yvonne told me they could see me immediately. When I arrived, there was only I gal getting her nails done. First impressions: 1. Very Clean 2. Good Asthetics 3. OPI nail polishes organized by color 3. Great Selection of Gels 4. Everything Looks in great shape! I was taken to a pedicure spa chair - I was sat down soaked feet in nice warm water and they started the massage chair - I didn't know how to make the chair massage less intense and I was too embarrassed to ask so I pushed through but it was ok. Let me tell you all....BEST Pedicure of my life! I've been going to my regular nail place at home my whole life and it's one of those places that's a great bargain but you get what you pay for (you're in and out). This place was sooo different! They took their time with my pedicure! Callus removal, exfoliating foot scrub, buff, cut and file nails, a 3-4 minute massage on each foot (which was AMAZING), then hot towel on the feet and ready for polish! I loved it! The tech was super gentle with my feet and my toes look great! After they were done with my feet, they gave me the disposable flip flops and I made my way over to the table with Yvonne for my manicure. She shaped them just like I told her and after finding out that the shade of gel I selected didn't show like it did in the sample swatches they had, she mixed two polishes together to ensure I had the shade I was happy with. After the gel manicure, she have me a nice massage on each hand and I was good to go! It is a little more on the expensive side for what I am used to, I paid $68.00 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure (before tipping). But honestly I left feeling super relaxed and I'm still enjoying my nails after 4 days - I'm sure they will look great for at least another week before there is too much growth. I didn't ask for any nail art or anything. But I will probably ask next time I go back - I'm going back! I'm hoping Yvonne can do some pretty pinterest worthy designs! I've tried so many other nail salons in Santa Barbara and none compare to Yvonne's Nail Salon! The nail technician's are very courteous and kind, there are many different gel/ regular nail polishes to choose from and the prices are great. Really enjoyed Yvonne's on a rainy Saturday, it was the perfect place for my Gel Powder manicure. New technique in the nail industry using powder pigments and setting it with the UV gel technique. My nails are hard and super shiny. They are supposed to last 3 weeks, so this is a test, because I really don't have the time to polish every week. My cuticles are clean, my file was not rough as some nail salons use a really rough emery board because they are in a hurry. I also really liked the fact that the stylist engaged in a conversation with me, which I feel rarely happens. I can't wait to go back and get a pedicure in their spa massage chairs. The massage chairs were amazing and the background music was super calming. When I went there was nobody there which was so nice after a long day of work. You will be fortunate to have your nails done here! I came with my 83 year old mother mid-day, (no wait) and they were so sweet with her and did a beautiful job on her nails! Yvonne's husband, Bhu, gave me an amazing massage and reflexology treatment along with my pedicure. WOW. I had my husband come in the next day and he had Bhu treat his feet - so generous! He has poor flexibility in his wrists and ankles and noticed improvement in both after the massage and treatment. We'll be back :)) read more

Best acrylics I've ever had! They were thinner than some acrylics I've had in the past which I loved, because I hate that thick clunky feeling with some other acrylics. I got them with gel over, and lasted 3 weeks and still looked beautiful when I got them filled (the only reason I got them filled was because I had a lot of grow out, but not one chip!) This time when she filled them she used hard gel, which was so much nicer because there are no fumes and still looked the same as acrylics when done. The price point is a little bit higher than some other nail salons, but it is totally worth it for the quality work that Yvonne does, I have been telling everyone about it! read more

I called and spoke with Yvonne and asked how long the wait was for a manicure. They asked what kind. I said Gel. She said come right away so we did and still waited almost half an hour. She was the only one doing nails. Then after my 14 year old got in the chair it takes another hour and when I am asked to pay it's $60. I told her that she was getting gel said no I told your daughter that I was putting powder and that's acrylic. I was sitting right next to her. She should have approved it with me. This was not ok. I thought her appointment was taking a long time and the smell was horrific. We obviously do not get nails done on a regular basis, this was a special treat. We will never go back to this place. I got an acrylic fill with gel color although I initially wanted to just get polish, but she talked me into gel saying it would last longer. My nails are actually peeling off and pinky even snapped off. This was only after one week! I can usually keep them in perfect shape for up to a month after a fill, even with regular polish. Not only that but the way they were filed resulted in my actual nail separating from the hard acrylic on the exposed part of the nail bed. I know the nails aren't the issue because the place I got the full set done at I have been going to for years and they have never chipped only faded slightly after four weeks. I also don't like the fact that she makes you take a picture for Yelp when she's done. It's misleading for other Yelp visitors when the client doesn't post a review as well. On the plus side there is parking out back and she seems fairly flexible with scheduling. Bottom line: would not recommend getting acrylics here. read more

Came to get my nails done with my four year old daughter. Not only did Yvonne design something fun for the Fourth of July for her, but her manicure still looks great five days out!! I've never had her keep a manicure longer than a day because she is so rough on her hands as one would expect with a preschooler. You can find a better nail salon LITERALLY anywhere. First, I email to make an appointment on Sunday and they finally emailed me back Tuesday morning telling me to come in in 30 minutes. Luckily I checked my email and made it on time. When I walked in they sat me at a desk and when I told them I wanted acrylics they immediately tried to push gels on me as an alternative. I rarely get my nails done and the only reason I came in was because I wanted to try acrylics for the first time, so I adamantly told her I was set on acrylics. As we sat down she began giving me a manicure which I thought was weird but didn't say anything since never getting acrylics before, I didn't know the procedure and didn't want to question her. Once she got the gel kit out I asked about the acrylics and told me that I never asked for them even though i was EXPLICIT about getting acrylics. The only reason they said I "didn't ask for them" was because the only person that does acrylics in the salon that day was in the middle of an appointment and had two more after. In my email I specifically said I would be getting acrylics so they should have told me she was unavailable and I would not have come in. This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. They made no effort to remedy the situation by offering for me to come back when the woman was available, they charged me for a service I never asked for (and $38 for gels is totally overpriced), and told me to "come back next time" for what I originally asked for. I have never been so disappointed walking out of what I thought would be a fun, easy treat for my birthday. Looking at my nails now I have polish on my fingers and the edges of my nail are uneven. They were cut incredibly short as if to remind me that she wasn't going to do acrylics no matter what I asked for. If you basically just want the exact opposite of what you came in for, this is the nail salon for you. read more

I was a first time customer, went in for a full set of acrylic nails. When I had left I noticed that the acrylic was a little weak. The very next day one broke off and had to wait a few days to get it fixed because she goes by appointments. They didn't last very long, they kept chipping on the sides. I went else where to get a fill and they had told me that the inside was filled with water and air so recommended me to to take them off and start fresh. Won't be going back. read more

Horrible will never use again even if it was the last salon on the planet.. My aunt, cousins, and I all received services after we called to ensure they were able to service 4 people, Yvonne said yes so we decided to give the salon a try. At first it seemed we would all be satisfied with the service provided, but then it became noticeable that the business was not happy that they had to turn away others because they were busy with our group. The service became rushed and rude. I needed my full set soaked off and then a new set put on, but Yvonne was set on just clipping and filing them off which is not what I wanted... so needless to say I left without my nails being done 2 days before my cousins wedding. Then when we checked out she charged us and then after all of us had paid she then says she forgot to charge us all $15 more dollar for gel. I have never paid $67 for a pedicure in my life and it chipped after 1 day! I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone simply because the service was horrible. Yvonne is amazing! I went in last week for the first time for a gel manicure and chose two colors and for some reason it started chipping and the color didn't look right. I called and she told me to come in and she would make it right. I just went in today and she redid everything and my nails look great.
