While service was good the food quality was absolutely terrible. Food came out cold and lukewarm. Was mention to the server in which she brought out another helping of brisket which was rubbery. Heidi was the manager on shift but never came to the table nor acknowledge any issues raised to the server leaving the young lady to fend for herself only to tell me she was on the phone with the owner to see if anything could be done. I told the sever I didn't need anything free and I'll pay my bill in it's entirety but will never return. The manager needs to be re-trained or let off the leash to make decisions without having to check in with ownership to do so. Food was good but "fast" isn't their middle name on Friday night. The pulled pork was awesome.

They say that hindsight is 20/20. There were several glaring red flags that we ignored that I wished we hadn't. The first one is the exterior. I have never been to a bbq restaurant where there was NOT a smoke stack and an absence of a smoke/bbq aroma in the parking lot. This restaurant's exterior was void of any aroma that would denote that it was a bbq restaurant. The second red flag was denoted when we asked about the online menu selections versus the menu presented at the table. Online it states that this restaurant offers brisket which is desirable for someone like me that eats neither pork or chicken. However we were informed that brisket has been recently removed from the menu due to frequent customer complaints that the meat is too tough. I have never been to an authentic bbq restaurant where there is not a pit master skilled enough to prepare all of the meats listed on the menu. Yet even with these two GLARING red flags we decided to stay as this restaurant came highly recommended from a respected local of the Charlotte area. My family and I were visiting the Charlotte area from out of town. My husband is a true pit master and has catered and competed for over 30 years. Whenever we are out of town he loves to find a local bbq treasure to visit. Oh dear........the best part of the meal was the hush puppies, the sweet tea and our server Meshia J. My husband ordered ribs. They lacked a smoke ring and were obviously baked. He requested the sauce to the side yet the sauce was still applied to the ribs anyways. When he pulled the first rib, there was no resistance and the rib easily pulled away which was a dead giveaway that the meat had not been smoked. My son ordered a pulled pork/bbq sandwich. He said it was just ok but tasted funny. He also said that it was salty and the sauce on the meat tasted funny. The French fries were not hot, kind of cold. I ordered beer battered white fish. Let's just say the fish filets were heavy on the batter and light on the fish. I feel as though I was served frozen fish filets from the local grocer freezer section. There was an overwhelming fish smell. It was rather greasy and salty as well. There wasn't much meat I could salvage to eat. I chose onion rings as my side item, which were served warm and somewhat greasy as well. Our server Meshia J. was great. She was kind and attentive. She treated us as if we were guests in her home. Overall this was not a good restaurant experience. This is not authentic bbq. I'm not sure how to classify this type of food. I'm very disappointed! This place was recommended to me and I've had it bookmarked for a few months. The better half wanted BBQ and I suggested we try someplace new and he was up for it. After the experience I was embarrassed for suggesting that we come here. The service was slow and timings were off. We ordered an appetizer that came out a few minutes prior to our entrees. The complementary hushpuppies came out after the appetizer. The water was never refilled and it took forever to get the bill settled. The garlic bread with cheese was average Texas toast with butter. No garlic flavor was present. The cheese was cheddar, unexpected but this isn't an Italian restaurant. The hushpuppies were okay but I'd prefer more onion. I got the combo plate with catfish and dark fried chicken. The catfish was great and the fried chicken was dry and lacked flavor. The white (mayo) coleslaw was delicious and my favorite part of the meal. I wanted more but couldn't justify the cost for a small portion. The onion rings were very thick but had a flavor I didn't like. I got three total for a side. My spouse got the pork and rib special. The pork was okay and the wings were awful. The hot sauce that came on the wings was barely spicy and was sickly sweet! Before we even left the restaurant my spouse commented about how we won't be back. While visiting family in the area, we came here for a late lunch. I'm not sure what I liked better, all the NASCAR memorabilia or the food. In the bathroom, the sinks are tires and you have to push the gas pedal with your foot to make the water run. Who knew washing your hands could be so entertaining! But I digress, lets get back to the food! I had a bbq pork sandwich with fried jalapeños on the side and mustard slaw. Complimentary hush puppies were also served before our plates. So I'm new to Carolina BBQ but I'm not new to knowing good food from bad. We have tried this place twice and it seems like it's a bit underrated. The food is very home style with simple decor and plastic plates. This isn't a date night but great for families. The first impression is always positive from the staff. The next welcome is with these fried cornbread things that really make you hungry. They are also nice to try all of the sauces on the table. We've tried a few things here and the redneck nachos along with the chicken tenders are the highlights. Dang those nachos.... with the brisket... and melted cheese... oh dang! These are also fun since you can pick your meat and cheese option (we did brisket and cheddar). The chicken tenders seem to be made in house, no overly seasoned breading here! I want to give a HUGE shoutout to our bartender, Steve. There are eight of us who like to get together during the week and catch up wit drinks and dinner. We picked Lancasters for this past Wednesdays meet. We walked into the bar at about 6:45 and Steve immediately greeted us and started asking what we wanted to drink. He filled our drinks quickly and precisely and kept good watch to see if we needed more. After a couple of drinks we told him we were going to eat dinner, to which we said yes. He asked if we would like him to put tables together in the bar He immediately did and seated us right away. Asked about drinks again, and then started taking our order, after giving us some great answers about items on the menu. All eight of us ordered different meals with different sides and never once did he write it down. We all thought things would come out wrong, but much to our great surprise, everything was perfect. He continued to check on us, bring more drinks, bring to-go containers and when we said we were ready for the check, he asked if we wanted separate checks. Of course we did, and here is where we really thought there would be an issue. NOPE, he got everything correct on each for of the checks. Steve is rare in today's hospitality industry and all I can say is Lancasters better do everything they can to hold onto him! I've been a couple of times but she has never been. The atmosphere is country casual. Used to have a large amount of upscale biker traffic but now appears to more family or locals. My wife went for a Salad that was served in a Taco Shell and topped with grilled chicken. I have a pork platter with BBQ Beans and Fries as sides. Both were delicious. This is a satelite location of the parent location in Mooresville. Service was on the slow side but no worse than any other establishment since covid. Four stars because the food could've arrived hotter & the sides are a tad bit on the small side oh yeah and they need to clean the windowsills and blinds. Due to the location, this place is a short stop for my parent's place and I have came here numerous times. And as a regular, so goes my dishes. What I usually get and recommend (and I have tried): 1. Open face brisket. Yes, this I think is their best dish that they offer. It comes with 4 briskets served on 2 buns covered in gravy, mushrooms, and onions. However, my parents, and sometimes I, think that the gravy could become a little too salty. But not to fret, ask the pretty waitress for it on the side and she will graciously oblige. 2. New Orleans Chicken. Now this one is interesting. A little tangy, spicy, and some interesting flavors mixed in with the chicken topped off with mushrooms and onions with 2 sides and a piece of bread. To me, I thought the chicken was a little dry, but that goes with all grilled type of chicken in restaurants. I have yet to find a chicken dish where the meat is succulent and where all the juice comes flowing out when you bite in it. 3. Turkey Sandwich Great dish for lunch. Comes with tomatoes and lettuce, and a good portion of turkey. If you don't want something to fill you up to the top and give you the afternoon slumber this will be the dish that calls you.
