Let me start by saying my service advisor Payton was absolutly awesome. The service done to my vehicle on the other had was a nightmare. I have a 2020 Defender that's literally in like new condition, but the battery died about 2 months ago. It was the original battery and 6 years is about the life expectancy, so normal wear. I replaced the battery myself, not a big job, but the right on the dash kept saying "charging system fault" the vehicle stopped running and I had it towed to Land Rover Chandler. I live in Tucson so I got a place to stay for the night hoping it would be done the next day, and it was. I was told by my service advisor that the problem was, after replacing a battery in a Defender it needs to be reprogrammed or it will still keep giving the charging system fault light and will not run. The problem was fixed! 330$ later it was running and had passed a 72 point checklist, the mechanic sent a short video explaining the repairs and it was ready to be picked up. I picked up my vehicle at an around noon and began my trip back to Tucson. I stopped at a gas station half way home, ran it to get a drink and when I got back into my vehicle it wouldn't start, not the first time I pushed the start button. I was obviously concerned, but pushed it again and it started! no dash lights no warning lights just had to push the start button twice. I called Payton, my service advisor when I made it home and explained the issue. The only issue was I had to push the start button twice, not a huge deal but annoying. Payton called me back immediately and said he would send a driver from Phoenix with a loaner, pick up my vehicle and fix the issue, I was blown away! great customer service. The vehicle was picked up, I was left a very nice loaner and Payton kept in touch. Three weeks later they had found the problem, it was the integrated starter generator. I looked it up and didn't quite understand why it would be that particular part, because the problem was just having to push the start button twice, no dash lights and it ran great, but whatever, they are the professionals. They replaced the part, and the first part failed, thank goodness it was still in Phoenix. The repair had finally been completed with a couple other repairs the driver noticed while driving back to Phoenix. The low coolant light had come on, and a grinding noise was heard from the front left tire while turning to the right. I was told the coolant reservoir was leaking, and needed to be replaced which was weird because I have never seen any coolant leak on my driveway but once again, they are the professionals so the entire bill was about 3000$, 300$ of that for the coolant reservoir. I received my vehicle and was happy to have it back, until I look din the driveway the next morning and had a huge coolant puddle under it. I was obviously a little concerned and upset. I called Payton and again, he sent a driver with a loaner to pick up the vehicle and take it back to Phoenix to find out what the issue was. now mind you I have already paid 3000$ in repairs that all started with " Just needs to be reprogrammed ". So I received a call from Payton a couple days later stating the problem has been forum! its now the Thermostat Housing that needs to be replaced and for the low price of 2400$ a mechanic could start the repair right away! I was LIVID! I had kept my cool till then and explained to Payton I understand he is just the messenger but he was about to get an earful. I was very upset with the entire experience I had gone through. I explained to Payton that the vehicle never leaked until they had worked on that system and I was not paying for a repair they had caused. Payton was very professional, very apologetic, and took my concern to the service manager right away. I received a call back from Payton 20 minutes later and he told me the repair would be done at no cost to me. I was definitely relived, but started thinking about the whole process. The mechanics were on a fishing expedition with my vehicle from the start. I was told initially that the starting problem could be some module needed replacing but eventually had to replace the integrated starter generator, I was told the problem with the low coolant light was just a reservoir bottle but it turned out to the thermostat housing, plus I have an extra 1000 miles on my vehicle now. I feel like I was definitely upsold, kinda like I went to a Grease Monkey for a 19.99 oil change that ended up costing 500$. These are certified Rover mechanics, they are supposed to fix it right the first time not guess at the problem and hope it works. I finally got my vehicle back yesterday, I hope there are no more issues!! This morning a light on the dash said " Normal ride height " I have never seen that before, but looked it up and seems to be normal, I'll keep my fingers crossed!!! just beware of the upsell at this service department. read more

I went alone this time, to look for a vehicle for a Client of mine and once again, no one was around! I didn't even bother to go inside because if you're not hungry which, I understand that this is a "car sales at all time high" right now, then shame on you guys!!! I came here to have my "vintage" :) LR3 serviced on October 28 and was offered a new 2020 Discovery as a loaner while the repairs were being done. With COVID still ongoing, my component was backlogged in the UK, and it took some time until I received my vehicle back this week. Of course, I did not mind as I had a brand spankin' new Rover to play around in! Mel Charles is a very sweet service advisor and I was pleased when I received my vehicle back with updated software, a new instrument pack, and a fresh wash. All is satisfactory, with one material item to be desired -- they let me know their recommendation was to have a tire patched because I had a small nail in it; they had to refill it with air right before they turned it over to me. When I took it in to the Discount Tire shop (they do free patching), they mentioned it was clear my alignment was completely off and showed me the lopsided tread. Therefore, I wasn't a candidate for tire patch up. I do think this is something Land Rover could have advised me on after dropping $2,300 which I believe should have included a sufficient inspection. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and just slightly bummed about my tire I need to replace. read more

Overall Land Rover Chandler is a reasonably well run dealer with a solid sales and service department. That being said, there are a lot of idiosyncracies of Land Rover ownership that may get to some folks who have not had these cars before. We worked with Rob Rayburn back at the very end of 2019, ultimately ordering a Land Rover Discovery Sport spec'ed out exactly how we wanted it. Order process was straight forward and it was really nice being able to get a vehicle exactly the way that you want (assuming you have the 4 to 6 months or longer to wait for it). Sales process was pretty painless overall. I left back then excited to finally own one of these and curious to see what the ownership experience would be like. So; getting to service then. Everyone who works there always seemed super professional and easy to work with. I enjoyed talking to Earl who was assigned to me back when I got the car. That being said, you may end up being more familiar with your service writer than you'd like owning one of these cars. In just over 3.5 years of ownership, we had ours in for warranty repairs or other concerns at least 5 times. Everything was always covered under the factory warranty and the dealership made it nice and easy to get service loaners (albiet, there is a nominal ~$30 charge each time you need one). Now, some of the downsides. I don't think this is necessarily unique to Land Rover Chandler, but service is absolutely insanely expensive on these vehicles. Expect to pay in excess of $400 for a simple oil change and inspection service (something that would be around $100 or less from a dealership like Toyota and typically $200 or less from a dealership like Lexus or Acura). Sure, it's a complicated European car that is probably over-engineered; but that doesn't excuse this in my opinion. In one of my last service appointments they mentioned my rear wiper blade was torn and needed to be replaced. I asked Earl how much it'd be and he quoted me around $85. I literally started laughing and told him: "Don't worry, I got this" and picked up a direct fit OEM replacement part from Autozone for $15 (and it took me all of a minute to swap it). I was hoping my Land Rover wouldn't live up to reputation since I really liked the car and had wanted to potentially get a Defender to replace it. Ultimately I decided to move away from JLR vehicles however as the cost of ownership combined with the mediocre powertrain warranty (which only covers 4 years/50000 miles) combined with the STEEP depreciation just doesn't make it worthwhile. If you really want to go European, do yourself a favor and stick with a brand like BMW. I ended up selling mine to Carvana with over 50% of the original value depreciated in less than 4 years (and 42000 miles). Fortunately I got a few grand of equity out of it and just decided it was ultimately a life lesson. After owning a Rover and an Audi though, I think I may very well be sticking with Japanese and Korean vehicles moving forward. The cost of ownership on these vehicles is just NOT worth it for the "privilege" of driving one. read more

Our Defender was bought here in Chandler in April 2024. We went to Colorado over the holiday and it showed a code on Friday "Electrical default, please pull over safely." So we called Landrover roadside to tow it. They didnt bother to pick it up until Monday. They had to take it to Glenwood Springs, Colorado since that was the closest dealership. So we went to the dealership here in Chandler when we got home to get a loaner car while ours was getting fixed and they won't give us one. They said since the warranty work is being done at another dealership they can't give us one. They to us to go through "trip interruption benefits". So we filed a claim and they will only give us 4 days with a $100 cap per day. So we can't even get an SUV comparable to our Defender- we get a shitty car. Not to mention we will only be reimbursed 4 days?????? The dealership in Colorado said at least a week- likely two beofre our car if fixed and back here. This is a WARRANTY ISSUE- NOT an accident or wear and tear. We paid over $100k for a vehicle and this is how they treat you? This is our 1st and last Land Rover. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DELAERSHIP OR ANY OTHER LANDROVER DEALERSHIP. They do not honor their customers. read more

We recently purchased a 2023 Mercedes from Micheal. The price was very reasonable and they held the car for a few days while we waited for a check from our out of state bank. The entire transaction was pleasant and no nonsense. I would definitely consider buying another vehicle from them in the future. Thanks again for making it a good experience! Just to add we did not have a trade in and we had our financials lined up before going into the dealership. I highly recommend people have their financials in order before going into a dealer, this makes it so much easier. If a dealer does not want to sell a car without providing their own financing ,walk out the door and don't look back! I brought in my 2016 Range Rover SVR as I was having a couple issues with my brakes. Since I had had problems with it in the past, I was able speak to Jim Deboy, the Service Manager, and he had his tech look further into it and found a tear in my pads and he replaced my brakes under warranty since I had had them replaced already. I was so thankful for him help figuring it out and refusing to give up on the problem. I also had a noise underneath my vehicle and he found it was a muffler part problem. Since they had done work on my muffler already, He decided to take care of it for me as well and I am just waiting for the part to arrive. Earl in service was also very helpful in switching out a lightbulb for me too as he knew how to get it out and put the new one in since it was a complicated to complete. Jim Deboy goes above and beyond for his clients and I am very thankful to have him to contact. After shopping at Mercedes and Porsche, we decided to try this Land Rover dealership before making a final decision on an SUV. Robert Rayburn was absolutely excellent. From a knowledgeable test drive, to the low pressure approach, and thorough delivery, it was a very smooth process. At other dealers, sales people usually directed their attention and follow up to my husband, despite the fact that I'm probably the more engaged one and the person who is paying. I found this insanely offensive. I even got a follow up call to my phone number asking for him from another dealership. Anyway, none of that happened here and Robert was extremely respectful, engaged in conversation with both of us, and did a fantastic job. I've been a Land Rover owner for over 14 years, and have dealt with several dealerships and service departments over the years. Undoubtably, this is the WORST experience I've had. My truck is in for service, and three phone calls to the service department (no one ever answers) to check on progress and expected completion date have gone unanswered. The receptionist then states she physically left a message on their desk; no reply. A call to the manager (of course, he wasn't available either), also was roundly ignored. With this pitiful level of customer service, I'm done. Apparently new sales are more important than loyal customer care at Land Rover. read more

Bought a used low mileage discovery sport Range Rover 2018. Right as I drive off the lot the breaks have been garbage. They are louder then any car I've ever purchased and this is supposed to be luxury. It also squeaks when driving and in park. It's completely crap. Every day I wish I could run it off into a mountain & be done with it. Took it in for service twice just for them to say nothings wrong and we get that complaint a lot. Then they said we can try to do this or that for $500+. And to make matters worse they then tell me to slam on my breaks to help. Are you literally slow in the head? I have warranty+ insurance like no other so why do I deserve to deal with such garage service staff and issues. All in all I just purchased this scam. They are luxury scammers in my book. I wish I could get my money back or do anything but drive this car. I will be trading in asap. Also, I personally find it annoying how pompous the service staff act, just because you work with luxury cars doesn't mean anything to me, please stop with the classism mannerisms. We had a great experience at Land Rover Chandler, well actually two. We were looking for an SUV to replace our Tesla Model X as we did not want to drive it back to Seattle again and hate the inconvenience of having to charge on long trips. As every place has limited inventory due to supply disruptions, there was not much inventory to select from. There was a Discovery Sport on the floor that we test drove and fell in love with. Rob, the salesperson, was able to describe everything about the vehicle in detail and is very knowledgeable about his product. He also let us know that he had a Defender coming in that someone had custom ordered that they may not want anymore due to health problems. We decided to get that too a few weeks later and we are now the proud owners of two Land Rovers, one for Phoenix, one for Seattle. Rob was never pushy and delivery / finance were a breeze. I highly recommend this dealership and urge you to see what they can do for you. read more

Very disappointed in the parts department. Waited the entire day for my part to get delivered but they used a third party service and the parts department couldn't get a hold of the driver. Their excuse was that the dispatcher couldn't find out which driver has my part. This problem and dissatisfaction falls on the dealership for hiring a bad company for representing them . I had some cosmetic issues with my vehicle following some maintenance work I've had done to my 2019 Range Rover HSE. I'm pleased to say that the service manager went out of his way to make sure all issues were remedied and even replaced an LCD screen at no cost to me. His personal level of quality assurance was exemplary and that's why I've updated my rating to 4 stars. I'm convinced that if you notice any issues with your vehicle after a service, they will do whatever they can to fix given the management they have in place. read more

I purchased my M4 mid August, delivered toward the end of August. Delivery delayed due to covid, but rectified by the dealership. Today is now November 23th, 2020, and I have STILL NOT received my license plates. Initially, I called for an update since I had not heard anything in regards to my plates for the whole month of September. No communication, no reply. Then October 2, 2020, and confirmed on my Ring doorbell, I received an envelope reading I need to send in my car inspection, which I didn't even know I had to get done, and current insurance, which I of course had. Sent back with the overnight envelope. Thing is, the car addressed in this letter was a different car a Mercedes GLC. I purchased a BMW M4. I email and call several people to find out what is going on, to see if I was accidentally sent someone else's paperwork. No answer for several days. I am then emailed, to follow the instructions since the paperwork was actually for me. I was out of town at this time. I had my inspection done when I came back home. I overnight the envelope. It is delivered October 14, 2020, and signed. Confirmed with tracking number. Since then, I have had to resend my inspection and insurance several times. No answer as to what exactly is going on, what happened to the original paperwork. I call DPS to see if they can see anything pending and if so, how long until receive my plates. DPS alerts me that aside from my state inspection, "nothing else has been started on the seller's end." I am livid at this point. I am also at the point where my temporary tags is almost expired, I have no answers. Communication on the dealership's end has been vague, evasive, and borderline dismissive. If it's taking this long to get regular tags, how long will it take to get temporary tags? I DO NOT have faith in this dealership at this point. I am about to leave for another covid contract, and need transportation with proper, legal tags. This dealership's actions and inactions have led me to see them in a very suspect, deplorable manner. One other issue I called in September that may have been fixed JUST THIS LAST WEEK, is my loan needing to have the correct car listed. A different car is listed than from what I purchased. read more

Upon entry, we were met by Cooper who showed us around, answered our questions, and went with us for a test drive. Ultimately, we met with Gavin Hill, the Sales Manager. At no time did we ever feel pressured or anything but welcomed, and potentially a valued new member of the Land Rover Family, by Cooper and Gavin; they were great. No one buys a Land Rover for its reliability, but I think we expect a level of customer service and product knowledge. This dealership lacks that. I have visited Land Rover of Chandler several times in the past, walked through the showroom and never once had an individual ask if they could help me. So as my search for a Range Rover continues I came across three vehicles that they had in their inventory and that I was interested in, so because I never got any service when I was at the dealership, I went online and put in a request for information, within minutes I received a call from Michael, he asked how he could help me, I told him I wanted more information on the options on the three vehicles I was interested in. He replied with he did not have access to that information and would have to get back to me, odd I thought as he was a car sales person at the dealership and could not pull up the information or could not walk to the vehicles and take a picture of the window sticker and send it to me but that was not an option. So a few days passed and I had not heard from him so, I reached out to him and no response at all. So I decided to reach out to the dealership to see if someone else could help me, I called and was transferred to a sales associate, he very nice helpful, he apologized for Michael not getting back to me and said he would assist me. A short time later I received a text message from Michael stating that the information I had requested days ago on the vehicles I was interested in was in my email. So I reviewed the information and found a vehicle that had the features I was looking for and silly me I thought what the heck I will take the next steps to move forward with the purchase of the one vehicle I was interested in. So I go on line put in the request, added my trade in information and completed a credit application. Shortly after that Michael called me and said everything looks good, and here is the payment, interest rate, both were pretty close to what I had received from the online deal I put in that included my trade in. I told him I was fine with the payment and terms and lets move forward, shortly after that I received a confirmation from Land Rover financial (Chase), who asked me a few verification questions and confirmed all was good to go. Shortly after that I got a call from Michael and he said you never told me you were trading in a vehicle, I was a bit surprised as I had spoke to him about my trade in, I put it in the online inquiry and had a confirmation from the dealership that showed the trade in. He asked me for the VIN number I sent him the VIN and photos of the vehicle as well and never heard a word from him. I then got a text saying the revised deal was in my email, I opened the email and they had increased the payment significantly on were now giving pennies for my trade and increasing the loan about significantly. So I reached out to Michael multiple times to find out what was going, what changed and how I clearly indicated I had a trade in many times and got absolutely no response what so ever. I was disgusted with the service and let a few days pass, meanwhile the dealership continued to run my credit over and over and over again. So I reached out to the sales manager to find out why they were continuing to run my credit and why no one ever responded to me and why the trade in I submitted went un accounted for and the sales manager said well sorry your credit continues to get run I will let the sales person know your concerns. At that point I was floored, this sales manager never once stated how can I help you, lets see what we can do, NOTHING!!! No attempt to put the deal back together and sell me the vehicle I was interested in. I have been in sales for many, many years, I am the CEO and owner of a of a company with 20 sales associates and I have to question myself as to how this business keeps its doors open. The sales associates are terrible and the sales management are worse. In this crazy environment in which we are in I am pretty sure this dealership is not even close to meeting their sales goals. I recently took my LR4 in for service and had a fantastic experience. I don't get the negative reviews and reference that Scottsdale location is better. Scottsdale service is awful and they always try to sell you on services you do not need. Chandler offers highly-personalized service. I am so happy I have found a new service home for my LR4. read more
