I haven't been here in a while. I really don't know why! The service, the staff and the food is incredible. Every one of the staff that passed our table acknowledged us asked us if we needed anything and cleared the table as soon as we were done. The owner/manager asked if our food was good and if there was anything she could get us. The serving size portions are huge! I'll be back soon.

We have been coming to this place for many years now and I simply cannot get enough. It's one of my favorite places to go while in the area and I make sure that for one of the nights we go and have dinner here. The espresso martini that I had was really good and the waiter did a fantastic job talking and entertaining us throughout the night . The food here is fantastic. I always get the chicken and broccoli Alfredo as it's one of my favorites and it's so much food but for a reasonable price which is awesome. The salad bar is simple and delicious . Everyone's dinner was really good and I cannot wait to go back

I go to Lanie's all the time. I love the vegan bolognese and especially a trip to their salad bar! The service is always very friendly and the ambiance is like a Nonna's dining room. Cozy. Their wine list is great as well!

My family tried Lanie's on a Wednesday afternoon, while visiting my daughter at a nearby college. After a brief wait, we were seated. Always a good sign to see a restaurant filled with customers. We had a nice waitress, who is going through the training process. She's definitely off to a great start, as she was friendly and professional. I selected the Gorgonzola roast beef wrap and enjoyed it quite a bit, nice flavors and definitely fresh. I helped finish my daughter's chicken quesadilla and my wife's hot chicken wrap, both were tasty. Certainly worth a return.

Lanie's has a classic neighborhood pub and restaurant fare with an actual local neighborhood touch. Lanie's could have been the prototype model of a Ruby Tuesday style chain restaurant. Let me say, do bot sleep on adding that salad bar to your order! A trip to this salad variety is a must. Always fresh and fully stocked, they have a variety of toppings, fresh Italian style sliced bread and what might have been seasoned butter or spreadable cheese? Not too sure about that. The staff was really nice and this is a great place to take a mixed group of people, especially family. We like to come here with our mothers. They really enjoyed the traditional menu items and we love the plentiful vegan options! This time we ordered vegan pizza, and seitan BBQ flavored wings. We also got a side of fries and that is why this review is a 4 ans not a 5 star review. Honestly, I couldn't tell you if we ordered fries at Lanie's before. I feel like we might have since that is something we typically order when we go out. But these fries were coated in like a batter of some type. I'm not totally sure if they contained dairy or egg in the coating but I can tell you my wife was sick for the rest of the day and part of the next day. I don't have the food sensitivity she has but as a vegan, I would recommend staying away from the fries. She didn't feel ill until shortly after leaving the restaurant so we didn't inform anyone on the staff. I don't know of they have an allergen menu like Juniors or Spinners but I know at those restaurants the fries and onion rings also are not vegan friendly because of a batter coating. Just be aware of that kind of thing bothers you, we would prefer fresh hand cut fries or just a regular straight cut frozen French fry. Still Lanie's is a great place and we will be back, we will just be more cautious about the things that aren't explicitly marked as vegan and not make assumptions.

We on Fathers Day Long wait, VERY loud (like sports bar loud) inside. Patio was nice - quiet and chill. Food was great! I got shrimp&scallop ala vodka, my husband had stuffed steak (sub - marsala) Service was pretty good, they were understaffed though

    Stuffed steak

We know how busy it gets and that lanies doesn't take reservations - why? So we went early- 5 pm and still had a 20 minute wait - but excellent service. Awesome salad bar. The Russian dressing is fantastic! I ordered the stuffed steak- wanting to try it for awhile. It was good. The steak itself was a bit overcooked and tough. But the shrimp were fantastic and the concept is ingenious. My partner's ribeye was much tastier and tender BUT at least 40% of it was fat and uneatable. I love Lanies. Would love it so much more if they organized and took reservations.

    Fried Ice Cream... yummy

Phenomenal, attentive customer service given by Dillion who also suggested the fried ice cream in place of tiramisu (which isn't on the menu... darn) yet the fried ice cream was a great recommendation and was delicious. The ambiance was very pleasant for a great afternoon lunch. The burger was so good, it didn't make it to the photo shoot for this post. That means....I must return for the delicious burger with cheese and a side of fries that I ate along with this delicious fried ice cream. I left very full and happy nonetheless.

From the raspberry mojito to the Tuscan panini, everything was delicious! The best part was the vocals of Nick Horace. What a great evening.!

I was promised that Grappa 72 would exceed my expectations. As an Italian-American AND a foodie, it's hard to wow me at an Italian venue. I can honestly say that this place was all that I was promised and more. What we ordered to share: crispy arancini (special app that day), eggplant parm, fried calamari. I am a red sauce snob, and all three of these delivered on presentation, quality, and overall flavor. Entrees we ordered included: halibut (entree special and my choice), pappardelle loaded with shrimp and chicken (also a special), pork osso bucco (stole the show!). We ended with individual desserts, and their Italian cheesecake was smooth and creamy. Service was reflective of high-end dining, yet the check for six people was moderate to affordable. Considering the quality, quantity, and overall experience, this is a place I need to get back to. Now I need to find an excuse to be in the Capitol Region so I can go back!

While the dish tasted a bit too oily for my liking, there was LOTS of food that came with this dish - enough for me to pack as a lunch the next day! What was also memorable about this experience was the live music playing at front. This is a very nice Italian resto for special occasions and date nights.

I was able to book a reservation online for the same day. Of note, when you have the option of Main Floor or First Floor & Bar, just realize the Main Floor is up a flight of stairs. I'm not sure if there is a separate entrance but my wife was on crutches and she managed to get up the first three into the restaurant from outside but I don't think dining on the main floor would have been an option for us. Our server, Mike, was awesome and full of energy and enthusiasm. He offered suggestions and answered questions about details of the dishes. We were pleasantly surprised with how many menu items were marked v - vegan and v* - can be prepared vegan. This is great for us because it's another place in Albany that we will be able to go out to dinner with friends and everyone will be able.to find something to enjoy. The fried Artichokes are a must if you're looking for a starter. We were eyeing up the Fennel salad or vegan Caesar salad but opted to move on to main entrees. On this night they were out of the Gnocchi Cacio-Pepe which personally, I am not a gnocchi fan to start and Mike told us they were substituting a buccatini pasta instead... this had my attention! I went for his suggestion and chose the Arrabbiata instead which was delicious. My wife enjoyed her Wild Mushroom and Asparagus Risotto. We skipped dessert for this evening but there were vegan Gelato and cookie options for dessert as well. From start to finish it was such an enjoyable experience in this cozy corner restaurant which offers outdoor dining in the summer in the heart of Albany. We will totally be back with friends for another delicious meal at Rosanna's, the hidden gem in downtown Albany!

The burger/fries and chicken dish were average. The tortellini and garlic bread were below average. Tortellini tasted like it was just frozen and undercooked and then served warm, not hot. The garlic bread...how do you mess up garlic bread. It was $7 and it was literally two pieces that were the size of my pointer finger, and one of the pieces was burnt. I would have been embarrassed to serve it as complimentary, let alone charge for it. The three meals plus the two mini pieces of garlic bread came to $110 including tip. It was overpriced for the quality of the food. I would say at the most this should have been an $80 meal including tip. I would have given a 3 star review if that had been the price. I live in a pricey area and I'm not picky. I believe this is the only time I've given a restaurant anything below 4 stars. The place was clean and I like that they bring a glass bottle of water to the table.

We have stayed in Albany at the same hotel for several years and have gotten familiar with some of the restaurants in the immediate area. We ventured a couple miles away from our hotel on Wolf Road to try Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse this year. We had a reservation for8 and were seated promptly. The decor was a bit dated, but nothing to complain about. The service was good and everyone but myself got Italian pasta dishes and all said the same thing "it was ok". Seeing as the name of the place is a cut of steak, I decided to go with the Delmonico signature steak, cooked medium rare. The cut of steak I received would embarrass me if I tried serving it to a friend. The amount of edible meat was no larger than a credit card, the rest fat and grizzle. It was tough to tell if the cook temp was as requested because there wasn't enough edible to tell. When our waitress came to see if we needed to-go boxes, she knew enough not to bother with me, as there was just a plate of junk left. Luckily, without me even asking, she took my steak off the bill, which was really nice because I wasn't going to make a big stink and complain. She just knew the steak was not up to par. It's tuff to criticize this restaurant because all the other guests were satisfied, but not wowed, however, ordering the signature dish and having it be absolutely disappointing is unforgivable.

We were seated in the back of the main room which was cold (the A/C was cranking due to the heatwave outside), loud (from people, not music). The side room was lit more invitingly and I think I would want to be there. I heard Frank Sinatra on the radio when we walked in, but within 30 minutes the place was packed and it turned into a raucous environment. We started off with garden salads with their homemade tomato basil dressing. It sounded fantastic but I quickly discovered it was loaded... absolutely loaded... with red onions. My wife bravely ate hers and the pile of onions kept growing on the side of her plate. I couldn't eat mine because of them so they took it away. They offered to remake it sans onions but I decided to hold out for my entree. My wife thought it was overdressed, but for a chopped salad such as it was I think it was fine. My veal Marsala was excellent. Every restaurant does theirs differently and here it wasn't too sweet or too garlicky. The bread on the table was crustier than an old pirate which made it difficult to eat with the table oil dip provided. However, it was perfect for sopping up the veal's sauce. My wife had Chicken Sorrento and the portion was absolutely humungous with a slick cheese shield on the top. She felt bad that my portion of veal was much smaller in comparison, but I had the last laugh as I thought her dish was just average. It all came down to the red sauce: every place tastes different and here it tasted a bit more like stewed tomatoes. (FYI: no place makes it as good as my grandmother). I am glad I ordered a non-red sauce dish, though my side of penne with only light sauce (per my request) was decent. Their dessert menu was nice but uninspiring. That's okay, as we were mostly full. Prices were fair for a white table cloth Italian restaurant, though not inexpensive. That being said, I much prefer the place in Loudonville which has more interesting entrees and comparable prices.
