First let me say Thank You to my wife's life long friend Ruthann who took us to this quaint restaurant. The place is very clean, well decorated and very cozy! I ordered the Hot Italian Panini, my wife ordered the Grilled Rubin, and Ruthann ordered the Tuscan Chicken and Egg Plant Panini. My wife and I exchanged half sandwiches so we could sample both of the lunches. We both liked the Italian Panini better than the Rubin. Both were excellent and Huge sandwiches. The sandwiches come with chips, fries are an optional cost which we decided to both have. Fries were cooked perfectly, crispy outside and tender inside. I've included a few pictures of the extensive menu and the sandwiches are included. I have to admit that I couldn't finish the food I was provided and had to bring home the equivalent of a half sandwich. I might add that there is also a salad bar available which is included with certain Entrees. I have to also mention that the service was as good as the food. Our waitress kept our glasses full and checked back to ensure we were content with our selections. The staff to start with are amazing! They're not only polite & friendly but they're also human & fun! First time I went, I went with my daughter. We ordered and almost cried...there was so much food we knew we needed take out containers right off the bat. With that being said. We LOVED everything we got. Enough that it made (for us, mind you) 5 meals out of each dish. Presentation was great, quality was great, I just don't have a bad thing to say about them. I have to admit, I didn't have desert because there's an ice cream stand down the street. But I was too full for even that. Definitely going back. Oh! The second time I went I brought my husband. Went for lunch. Definitely took the spacing seriously. Sat by the fireplace. Very nice. Ordered a jalapeño Rita. I sent mine back. Not a fan. But that's ok. Had the shrimp wrapped in bacon. A tad dry and slightly over cooked for my liking. Loved the marinara. Very good and flavorful. Came with the chicken Panini and FF's. Ordered the Lanie pizza too. Had to try that. I went here tonight with my boyfriend and his steak was undercooked , the meat was literally RAW instead of being medium rare and we kept receiving childish remarks by our waiter our entire time seated . the food was very MID . Just left Lanies in Loudonville. Generally a consistently good choice but tonight was a different story. We had a large party and the waitress got one of the entree orders wrong. Instead of apologizing and offering to make it right, she told the patron that she had not ordered what we all heard her actually order. To make matters worse, a supervisor came out to tell us that the waitress was one of their best- basically insinuating the patron ordered incorrectly. While they eventuality brought the meal originally ordered, when the bill came, we noticed they charged us for both meals - the incorrect one and the one originally ordered. So we were charged for 10 meals for 9 people. No apology from the staff whatsoever. Probably won't rush back. While the food was fine, the dining experience was subpar. read more

2 words: GIGANTIC PORTIONS! I love everything about this place: The vibe is old school and down to Earth. The service is pretty dam amazing (shout out to Audrey). The salad bar is top notch. Our reservation was ready upon entry (I hate when you make a 630 rez and aren't sat until 645-7). I ordered the shrimp and scallop alla vodka and it was money. Scallops were tender and fresh. Jumbo shrimp were tasty and I didn't have to do any work to get the tail shell off. Salad bar has everything you need and some. After getting your greens and dressing you can pick up a fat slice of bread, garlic butter and go crazy on this huge block of cheese. I ate here with the wife and family and was happy with my grub but some people felt the sauces masked meat that could've been more flavorful and seasoned better. But everyone enjoyed their food nonetheless. This is a place to overindulge with friends or family. Come hungry. read more

We had such a nice evening. Just a simple meal outside (really delicious cranberry chicken salad sandwich and a glass of Reisling). My husband had a chicken quesadilla and iced tea. One very rude couple sat in a corner booth video chatting so the entire dining room could hear their conversation but the staff wouldn't say anything to them. I love Lanie's. This place has a big menu. The French Dip is my favorite. Service is always friendly. The waitstaff and the bartenders are great. The restaurant itself is a family place so it can get a little loud but it's very nice and the lighting is perfect. Lanie's is the type of place you take for granted and then forget to review, hence my review after I've been here umpteen times. I'll be clear with what I don't like: the amount of calories I eat when I'm here, and the fact that they don't take reservations. Onto a brighter note.. outdoor seating? Check. Excellent drinks? Check. Hefty portions? Check. Salad bar? Double check and they have a HUUUUUGE (think Fucillo huge) size block of cheese at the end. It's basically the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I've NEVER had a bad meal here, and frequent the filet, shrimp anything, and the numerous appetizers. If Lanie's isn't on your rotational list of places you can count on for a good meal, check you life decisions and then stop in. read more

I've been on a Ketogenic diet for 7 months (very low carbs; high fat).. so, I have to ask about menu items to avoid "surprises". Often, I revert to a "bacon cheeseburger" of one kind or another... no bun, "served on a bed of lettuce", please. Today, I had the BEST experience to date.... at Lanie's Cafe'. this following the WORST experience to date, 9 days ago at "2 WEST" in Saratoga. Most fall in between; and most do a pretty good job. Even 5 Guys does a nice "lettuce wrap" (to my pleasant surprise). TGIF's....also good... not outstanding, but prepared as requested ....nothing to complain about, for sure. Today, following this great experience at Lanie's, I wrote the review that 2 WEST earned; Now I'm writing the review that Lanie's earned. My "awful" experience at 2 West came with a Price tag of over $20. My "excellent" experience at Lanie's cost $14.00 ($12 + $2 for bacon). A picture is worth a thousand words...so here is the photo. 4/23/2018 Really enjoyed the meal. Very easy to overeat. The portions are large. My lunch consisted of the mussels appetizer. It was delicious. I got it with wine and garlic sauce. It came with four pieces of garlic bread, which I didn't need. My fiancé had the veal parm. He thought it was great. Not keen on the decor. Harkens back to a different time period.
