Rude as heck. No hello, thank you, anything. I walked in & they looked at me like "what the heck do you want?" The lady did such a half ass job on my mani/pedi. My fingernails are totally crooked & it looks like my 5 year old daughter polished my toes. Yes, they're verrrrrry inexpensive. But you definitely get what you pay for in this case. I've been to Lanny's abt 3-4 times now. The staff is very courteous and welcoming but i guess that's not all i expect when i am paying for a mani-pedi. Generally my pedicures are well done but i've had 2 manicures by Kathy so far and they've been quite sub par unfortunately. I noticed that Kathy tends to rush to finish the job but doesn't make sure the job is done right. Today i got a mani with her and the nails were filed too short AND crooked. she couldn't even file them straight. c'mon that's nail 101. Then she put on the polish and 2 of my nails look like they have different colors on. She didn't apply even coats and she left gunk underneath the nails(the stuff from filing the nails) usually you would remove those when you clean the nails. I forgot to mention, the massage was pretty short and very painful. she kept pinching the area between my thumb and index finger rather than massaging the whole hand and also answered 3 phone calls while doing my hand massage taking away from it. Am i being too harsh? well cmon we at least expect nail techs to focus on the job. isn't that why we pay/tip you? read more

I have been going to Lanny Nails for over 10 years. Parking: Metered street parking only so bring quarters Cost: $22 for a mani/pedi I think they're excellent. I've tried other places and their manicures never last as long as Lanny's manicures. I get a mani/pedi every 2 weeks, but I find that they last up to 3 weeks without chipping. Every once in a while, especially when they're slammed, I find that I'm not as happy with my manicures, but that's been very few and far between. I'm extremely happy most times. They close at 7pm and they like to leave promptly at 7pm. read more

This nail salon is on Beverly Blvd now. I've been going here on and off for years and they consistently do a good job on my nails and the polish seems to last longer than other salons. I don't like the fact that they're are cash only as I tend to you my debit card for everything. If you use the ATM they have there is a charge so definitely bring cash. It's no frills but they are very nice and it's clean. Parking is probably a pain as it's street only but I usually walk. read more

I have had my nails done about 15 times here (mani/pedi) over the last couple of years. As everyone knows, when the cuticles are not pushed back the polish will not go to the end of the nail bed which means one has to come in more frequently for polish. I'm tired of trying to remember who does a good job. I give up. The last time I was in I commented there was space between the application of the polish and the end of the nail. I was essentially told it was fine. It's not fine. That's okay, there are a ton of nails shops on Beverly near where I work. I won't be back. read more

I love Lanny nails and the whole family that works there. So warm and friendly. But they have gotten sloppy. I don't know that they were ever GREAT, but they were good enough. My last few mani/pedis have been bad - uneven shaping, sloppy polish, minimum attention to cuticles, chipping within a few days. I always accepted this a a function of the low price. Lately I've tried a few other places, some even cheaper, and found that you can get a good manicure for the same price. In a word....DON"T This place has lost it's charm. I used to love going for a treat but the last 2 visits were just awful. The girl was bad tempered, rude and rough. She really hurt me and was offended when I asked her to be more gentle. Lots of loud comments and cackling followed and I couldn't wait to leave. I love Lanny Nails! I have been coming here for 7 years. They're the most honest, hard working, nicest, most accommodating nail experts I've ever been to (and I have been to many places before I found them). Their prices are super reasonable (a regular mani pedi is $24, a gel mani is $25 and also a gel pedi is $25, $50 for gel both can't be beat). I will definitely return to Lanny. They had excellent customer service. Right away they asked my name and by the time I walked out they still remembered it. The manicure and pedicure were well worth the $22. I just moved to LA from Chicago and this price is unheard of, even by Chicago standards. The quality is on par with a place that charges twice the price. The only downside is they don't have spa chairs or spa foot baths and they are cash only. Beyond that, the salon seemed very clean and spacious. I didn't have to wait at all on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment. They also had a wide selection of polishes. I can't stop looking at my nails. They definitely seem like they're not going to chip. I've found my neighborhood nail salon. Lanny can count on me to be a regular. read more

I've been going here off and on since they were on 3rd Street - I always seemed to run into Alanis Morrisette there. They do a good job - and I love the new Beverly location. Parking is easier now, too. The waxing lady wasn't good - but in their defence they had just started their waxing business and the girl was new. They also have someone doing blowouts now. As a new res of WeHo I've been looking for a local nail salon that's cheap/clean/awesome/has a great selection of colors/technicians who know wtf they are doing. My friend Koko referred me to her girl Kathy here and I was beyond happy with my results. She knows all the cute colors and does an excellent job. I wanted something holiday-esque and she recommended "My Private Jet" this dope OPI color, black sparkly shiny supah cute. My mani/pedi was fast, precise and done in 30 minutes. My foot massage was amazing too! All for 22 dollars freck ya! Go ask for Kathy and tell them Arielle set you :) I am now officially a regular. read more

I have gone to Lanny Nails since I moved to Los Angeles in 1998. I have on occassion tried another place and after 3 or 4 different places I just stopped going anyplace else. So for a good 17 years it's the only place I go. I have a friend who went to Lanny when she lived in LA and now she lives in Chicago. When she comes to visit she always, always includes this place as a part of her visit. The sisters are amazing, kind, considerate and do an amazing job. If you have a problem with this place you're honestly a high mantenience person who can't be pleased. This place is the best. read more

First time going to Lanny Nails. Had a manicure & pedicure and within 3 days my pedicure started to chip. It has now been about 5 days and my manicure looks terrible!! I have been coming to Lanny's for years. They always do a great job. Everyone here is sweet and they take real care in their work. In addition to top of the line service, they are far less expensive than other places in town. I see a review posted here about them lying about the price of a mani/pedi, it seems to me that person decided to add gel to the service after the initial quote, which is an up charge anywhere you go and a WAY better deal at Lanny that anywhere else in town. Lanny is not only good for nails but also waxing. The quality of their service is top tier. Considering nails and waxing are routine maintenance all the money I save going to Lanny adds up quickly. read more

Every time I've had two girls working on me at once, so I was in and out in a good amount of time. They don't last as long as they should. Stopped by Lanny's this morning after five or six years going elsewhere due to distance. What a delight it was to walk through the door and immediately heard, "Hi Regina," and looked at seven smiling faces all sincerely glad to see me. There was only one new person since I was there last. Now that speaks volumes about Lanny and her sister Cathy and how well they must treat their staff. I was surprised that their prices are still very lower, much lower than where I've been going. The salon is spacious and pretty and the service is as good as it gets. I may just start figuring out how to incorporate the distance in with other appointments in the Cedars vicinity. It felt like returning home and how good it feels to go home when it's always been a loving, caring place. I am a mature adult that loves good service at a good price. And I must have began going to Lanny's on Third Street 20 or more years ago. read more
