Sadly, Lans Kitchen has closed. It was a great spot to grab some takeout and the fact that it was in a Marathon gas station just made it all the more charming. We ordered via Uber Eats or DoorDash (I forget) and got the Creamy 5X Spicy Chicken and the Tokyo Chicken, both with grilled chicken instead of breaded and fried. The 5X Spicy chicken was pretty spicy and the sauce was good. The chicken was a mixed bag though, some was tender and some was tough. Same with the Tokyo chicken. It was packed over the rice, so if you like your rice plain for leftovers, maybe order a side. The sides available are not your typical asian sides. We tried the cucumber salad (good with nice spice), glass noodles, tomato and egg, and the cabbage. They were OK, but nothing earth shattering. The cucumber salad is cold, and when packed with the rest of the piping hot food, was actually kind of gross. Warm Cucumbers? No thanks. I guess the most telling part was the leftovers in the fridge. They sat until garbage night as they just seemed unappealing to eat again, which isn't typical of leftover asian food in the fridge. They have some other items that look appealing, so it may be worth another try. read more

It's a mom and pop hidden gem! I find that I typically order when I'm headed home and don't want to cook. LOL. They seem to have a good variety of food to appeal to everyone. The owner also has good customer service (when things aren't available or something took a little longer- she explains and gives proper substitutes. One time, I found an extra cake in my bag!). Lately, I've been obsessed with the Scalliondilla. It's a scallion pancake filled with cheese and chili sauce. So simple but yummy. Very nice people run this cozy little establishment inside of the gas station on E. Colonial. The food was good, they give you decent sized portions and the prices were reasonable as well. Food description on menu is seriously lacking. Delivery was horrible. I did not "choose" contactless delivery. It was chosen for me. The driver left my food on the hood of a rental U-Haul truck at the very bottom of my driveway & never "called/texted" to inform me even though those are the directions in the notes. Lan's kitchen is such a hidden gem! It's inside the marathon gas station off of 50, near the East side Asian market. My husband and I have tried a variety of dishes and sides. We really enjoyed the pork belly, pork chop, the KP chicken and the Lans beef dish. The portions are quite generous and the prices are reasonable! The lady who runs the counter is extremely warm and welcoming. I believe she also runs the gas station and therefore, we are happy to support this small business. Lan's Kitchen is always a must when my husband and I drive by and are hungry. She really put us on to her spicy glass noodles and we always get extra if possible. We ordered three different dishes + creme brulee and everything was amazing. Even my daughter was happy with her dish and given that she's on the spectrum and a selective eater that in itself was incredible. When placing my order online I accidentally selected the wrong tea flavor, but Donna was super accommodating and adjusted the order when I called to explain with no questions asked. While the to-go dishes were filled with food, you probably won't have leftovers because it's just so delicious. We haven't had the chance to come back simply due to the location as we're rarely on Colonial, but hopefully soon we can visit again. Thank you! read more

This is the absolute worst food I've eaten in Orlando... Almost everything tasted terrible... I got the 5x Spicy Chicken... Based on the photo, it looked like it was supposed to be breaded chicken strips with Japanese sauce drizzled over it... What I got: chicken nuggets (that weren't even crispy; they tasted like something put in the microwave) with Japanese sauce (which was actually tasty) and MUSHY rice... bro... I'm Asian... this hurt my soul attempting to salvage this cuisine... The Korean style cucumber kimchi was old: note the dull color. The flavor was decent but it shouldn't have been as warm as it was (considering the restaurant is less than 2 miles away). The spicy glass noodles: trash. Flavorless and for $6.00 I got a baby scoop. I threw the scallion pancakes in the trash too because not only could I smell they were burnt, the taste was like eating a burnt down house-- it tasted like burnt paper. I've never found any place that served tomato eggs despite how good it is, and I'm surprised that the first place to do so would be tucked away in a gas station That said, the food here reminds me of the food my parents would make, from the Braised Pork Belly to even the Chinese vegetables, this place is unique in just how home-cooked everything tastes! Lans Kitchen is definently worth trying out, the food is very home-y, the owner is very nice and accommodating, the boba is good, and if you get enough signatures, the next drink is free!
