The pizza was delicious. My favorite thing was that the crust had charr like a traditional Neapolitan pizza. The service was great and the ambience was worth the visit to sit down and dine in; also the refills on beverages. Definitely will be coming back and recommend coming and giving it a try. read more

My husband and I stopped in Lantern Pizza after friends recommended it. Best Pizza with some unique choices and old time favorites (pepperoni). Loved the crust (I am a crust person), the sauce and ingredients were top line. Staff was friendly. The owner (Dan) was there and spent time between pizzas sharing the story behind the name Lantern Pizza (think Italy). Dan is the former Chef at McDonald's Corp which explains his in depth knowledge of flavors and pairings. He suggested a pairing (sorry I don't recall) which was excellent! While there is carry out, we enjoyed sitting at a table inside (hot outside). We live in Arizona but have a lake house in Wisconsin during the summer. Visit friends and family (and medical appts) in IL so we will be stopping there every visit to eat and to take some pizza back to Wisconsin with us! read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. I think their pizzas are delicious but I don't really like their toppings. I've had pretty much everything on the menu and I haven't had anything bad really but the menu definitely needs some adjustments in my opinion. First of all the onions for the pizza are a carmelized onion which are tasty but doesn't really go with pizza, if they offered just regular onions it would go a long way. Also they use Kalamata olives in their pizza and arugula salad...the olives are beyond salty. Literally ruins the salad or pizza because the saltiness is SO OVERPOWERING. Regular black olives would be a drastic improvement. Lastly I've ordered extra cheese a few times and it doesn't seem like extra cheese at all. Other than those things, I'm a pretty big fan of their food. Sauce and pizza dough are fantastic and the arugula salad minus the olives is great. Just some constructive criticism that I hope they use. read more

I ordered my pizza with a bit of char and I really enjoyed that flavor. I do see what people say about the crust being a little soggy, but I still enjoyed it. More importantly, when I picked up my to go order, the owners greeting me warmly and were very welcoming. You can tell they take pride in their restaurant and see the value in every customer. Drove over to order on a Saturday night. Parking lot just about full. Walked in and there was plenty of staff but the Adult owners were not in!! Not to worry the DAUGHTER was in charge. The crew was all on task and the pizzas were looking great as they came out of the oven. I was greeted warmly and ordered two to go. There was a lot of communication going on between the crew and the pizzas were flying out the door. My order was finished in maybe 15 minutes and I took them home to eat. Excellent!! The pizza is really good. You might want to warn them that you would like a "Light bake" because one time, the underneath of my takeout pizza was burnt. It was bitter and I couldn't eat it. However, that's not my issue why I gave 3 stars. We went in and placed an order. At this point we've been waiting for 10 minutes (which I understand on a busy day). After 10 mins, a couple came in who seemed like friends of the owner since they greeted each other like good old friends. I saw them looked at the menu and order. And then 10 minutes or so later, the couple got their order 1st. We were still waiting for our order. Not cool, Lantern Pizza!
