This is my favorite Thai place. I haven't had anything that I don't like. My go to is the chicken kra prow- it's perfect. Plenty of veggies, delicious sauce and an explosion of flavors, if you too with some Thai chilies in fish sauce. I also love their Tom yum soup. Cant wait to try their entire menu. It's tough because I always want to order the same thing but I've tried several things on the menu and they are all tasty. Drunken noodles. Pineapple curry. One of the Lao style soups. Spring rolls. Seafood noodles had a lot of flavor and on the sweeter side. The noodles were also very flavorful but they were clumped together. I would probably order something else next time. The thai ice tea was one of the better ones I've had. Service was pretty quick, but I wasn't there during lunch or dinner hours. The place is quaint with a moderate amount of seating. read more

Great Thai and Loatian food. The menu does a great job at distinguishing the two styles as well. For apps, the sampler was good and the papaya salad was superb. I got the kau kai noodles- similar to drunken noodles but pan fried, which added a great smoky flavor to the classic dish. At the time of this review they did not have any alcohol for sale. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food came out quickly and had good presentation. Between the two Thai places in carp- either one is going to be a solid choice. I'll have to update this review once I get the Tom Kha. They current do not have a new sign in the place- it is located in the phoevermore old place. 5/5 - will visit again. read more

Every time I eat here, I'm amazed at the quality and freshness of the food. The place is clean. They have a few tables for outside seating. The owner and family members who work there are friendly and efficient. My husband and I usually order the same dishes,: yellow curry, and Rad Nar and sometimes the eggplant. This last time we decided to try two new dishes. My husband got the curry noodles and I got the salad with and Tom Kah soup. The owner wants to know how the food tastes. Because we ordered different items this time She wanted to make sure that my husband understood that the curry noodles was not made with the yellow curry. She explained how it was going to taste. They get their vegetables from the farms right there in Carpinteria. That is why everything is so fresh. They make their pastes from scratch. We usually can only eat half of whatever we get so we take it home for dinner. If you are in Carpinteria, definitely stop by this place. We had the pineapple curry with chicken, a Lao noodle soup dish, and the Lao equivalent of som tam (which was amazing and totally on point - if you've been to Lao PDR and like this dish, come here!). The pineapple curry uses a red curry as the base and the flavor profile of theirs was the best red curry I've had in years. My husband and I decided to try this place after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. The spring rolls felt more like salad wraps--very light and mostly filled with greens and mint. At $12 for six half rolls, they didn't feel worth the price. The Pad Thai was overly sweet for our taste, and the curry ended up being much spicier than expected. Overall, the flavors just didn't work for us. read more

Ordered two dishes last night: pad Thai and the drunken noodle. The drunken noodle dish is excellent: soft, moist with plenty of meat and vegetables but pad Thai is so so: very dry, blend, with only chopped cabbage. No peanut sauce or eggs that normally come with pad Thai. So I guess it is a hit or miss. read more

This unassuming restaurant, tucked in a non-descript shopping plaza, is a real gem. The small dining room has good sized tables, with room to be comfortable. We were welcomed immediately and sincerely. We felt like we belonged. Two televisions showed photos and videos of Thailand. The clientele seemed to be a good cross section of the community. The food was excellent. We ordered Eggplant sautéed in chili, garlic & basil, white rice, and Golden Tofu. The dishes were wonderful. The tofu was cut in large wedges and lightly dusted or coated (I think). The fried wedges were crispy on the outside and medium firm inside. The eggplant was perfectly seasoned. All dishes came to our table piping hot. We really enjoyed our meal and the comfortable ambience. I'd gladly return to this special little restaurant. read more

Our go-to for Thai! We have tried 6 other places in SB, SLO and Santa Maria and this is decidedly #1. Every dish is fresh, delicious and invitingly presented whether it's the Pineapple fried rice in a carved out pineapple with a tiny umbrella or the large bowl of Pho with 4 side sauces to choose from in a carousel brought to the table. Servers are knowledgeable and attentive, value exceeds the price and they offer inside seating in an attractive dining room. Great spot for Thai food that, while the flavors are pretty Americanized, still brings the taste. Wait staff are super friendly and efficient making the meal extra enjoyable. The restaurant isn't very large and the seating is fine but it's not a luxurious palace. Just a place to get decent Thai food with a Laotian accent! Shrimp curry was nicely spiced. Pad Thai ordinary. I wish I lived nearby so I could dine there often. I got the eggplant which was a touch too spicy for me. My friend ordered the red curry and was very pleased with the taste and aroma of the curry. Can not believe the treatment over peanut sauce. I ordered the fresh spring rolls, which on the menu says it comes with peanut sauce . When I picked it up there wasn't peanut sauce, which is delicious and why I ordered it. I asked for the sauce and she said no,it didn't come with it. It clearly says it on the menu. She said she needs to change it on the menu. But for now can I get some? She was argumentative with me. It seems so silly. Then to my surprise there wasn't even spring rolls. Wonderful, flavorful food! We met the owner and she explained some of the flavor nuances between between Thai, Vietnamese, and Cambodian food. They'll ask you your choice of spice level on a 1-5 scale. We chose 4. Be aware it's hot. If you're a chili head it won't blow you away but most folks would be safe to try a 3 to start. Like momma's cooking the waiter told me. That's exactly how it was. Every bite made me feel like I was eating the works if a Thai grandma that started the process the day before. The Thai ice tea was sweet and tea tasting. Meaning through the sweetness you actually taste the loose tea taste on your tongue. It lingers a few seconds after each drink. No powder concentrate here. I ordered the lunch special pineapple curry with pork. It came with rice and your choice of a salad or soup. I chose the salad because I knew it would help with the heat from my main dish. The dish reminded me of coconut soup with more red curry mixed in and the addition of pineapples. On the side was a sweet clear sauce with a few flicks of red pepper flacks. That little sauce was something you want a bottle of to slather on some smoked baby backs or chicken wings. Adding it to the pineapple curry added a nice sweetness that the pineapple fell a tad bit short on. Definitely use it in your dish. The pork was very tender. So tender I thought it was chicken and was ready to voice the error. Rather it was pork that was tender, not dry, not chewy or stringy. You know the kind of pork I'm talking about. The side of fried wonton was a welcoming crunch that I didn't mind. Yet, it's a common Chinese restaurant side seen many times. I would have rather a nice spring roll instead. Just a very minor complaint. The heat of the curry was perfect. I didn't ask to alter the level ahead of time since I wanted it as is. It was warm and deeply soothing as I kept the movement flow of my spoon with no spoon pausing. After my meal, I felt hugged and content. (Total cost:$23.07) read more

Stopped by on my way through town yesterday. I ordered take out and the service was excellent and quick. I had the papaya salad (delicious) and my absolutely favorite, their prik king beef, with freshly sautéed green beans that still had some snap to them, and an incredibly rich sauce... Im still thinking about it. I also had the khao soi, which was much different from any other I've had, the broth to pour over the noodles and ground meat/curry was clear and it didn't come w pickled mustard greens.
