Nok's is a local fave that's absolutely taken off. I remember going to their OG spot back in the…read moreday before they popped off, now it's always slammed! The restaurant itself is a chill spot that is the perfect place for date night or a family dinner. The staff is really friendly and welcoming every time I come to visit, 10/10 no complaints here. Now for the food, I cannot come to Nok's without getting their sausage and I suggest you do the same! The bbq plate is nice to try everything but to be honest, whenever I get that, I always regret not getting just the sausage. But you be the judge and see what you prefer. I'm big on their larb and crispy rice salads as well, top tier if you want something a little lighter. The food, vibes, and overall experience is great. I always look forward to the next time I get to eat here.

With my family and I just getting into SoCal and needing to find somewhere to eat for our late…read morelunch, I was so excited to come across Nok's Kitchen. Laotian food is and will forever be my food bias and yet i find it so hard to find somewhere, ANYWHERE, that hits the spot the way that I want it to. Growing up, I was blessed enough to have authentic homemade Laotian food through a friend and her family- that has set the tone and the bar extremely high when it comes to my flavor expectations. With Nok's high ratings I was hoping to find my go-to whenever I am in town. Lunch: *TUM MAK HOUNG (Papaya Salad)- requested for SPICY & added raw shrimp [+ additional $5] *KUA MEE SEN YAI w/ Chicken [stir fry rice stick noodle] *BBQ MIX COMBO- comes with sticky rice, pork sausage, a wagyu skewer, and a chicken thigh skewer *Wagyu Skewer [because one wasn't enough so we ordered an additional stick] I made the request to have the papaya salad made with extra padaek [pungent, funky, fermented fish sauce]. I let the staff member know I enjoyed my papaya extra fishy and extra spicy. This dish was what I was looking forward to the most and it unfortunately didn't meet my standards. The plate was missing the extra dark liquid puddle where the shredded papaya swims in. Most importantly, the funky, fishy level was missing-even with my request for extra padaek. Though, the spice level was hot and the raw added shrimp was enjoyed. The kua mee sen yai was good- noodles where fresh and the flavoring was delicious. The bbq mix combo was kind of pricy given the amount of food actually given. The chicken portion is what carries the most volume and we could have done without that protein. The pork sausage and wagyu skewer were great. The jeo som sauce was delicious- so good i easily ate this with sticky rice on its own. 3.5 stars specifically for the food but i'll bump the rating to a 4 since the staff is so kind. I might come back but my meal will most likely not include papaya salad. Unfortunate because this is what I forever crave...

Solid Lao restaurant is Westminster! Mom and Pop vibes. I visited this restaurant with a friend…read moreduring the weekend and our experience here was pretty good. We shared a variety of dishes: -Papaya Salad: A Lao style papaya salad. Super flavorful, crisp, and fresh. Honestly great just eating it on its own. I also liked the raw crab in it which was nice to suck on. -Lao Sausage: Meaty and good. I liked how the flavor wasn't too strong and offputting. The sauce it came with was good, but a bit hard to dip in. This paired well with the sticky rice. -Crispy Fried Rice (Nam Kao Tod): Super unique dish! I liked folding the crispy rice with sour pork bits into the lettuce wraps which was fresh, crispy, and texture heaven. While the food was solid, I did think the prices were on the higher side for the area. It might be because of the ingredients if I had to take a guess. The service here was pretty good. They have ample parking spots in front of the restaurant in the lot.

I'm Laotian myself so it's always nice to support a small business like this. When we came during the evening, they had a lot of parking in the plaza so I just parked in the front of the restaurant. They were getting their windows tinted so there were works doing some work in the dining room. The restaurant was also busy too so it took like maybe 10 minutes to get seated. We started off with water, my wife with her Thai Tea and she also wanted the egg rolls. After our waitress brought it out, my wife ordered the chicken pho and I got the boat noodle. Our food didn't take long to come out, my wife chicken pho came out first and then my boat noodle came like 5 minutes afterwards. You get a great portion of noodles and meat on both soup. I had to ask for lemon for my wife since they didn't one to the table and also for the Sriracha sauce. I thought the boat noodle was delicious here and my wife loved her chicken pho. The service was good, remember that there only two waitress here so I would say just be understanding especially if they are busy.

I only want it from here now! Some things I always order.. thai boat noodles, thai teas (big to-go cups), mango sticky rice, namtok salad, larb salad (i recommend you order white rice), fried pork belly (yum!), and nam khao (my favorite!). Ordered all my favorite typical dishes I'd get, Pad See Ew, the house-fried rice, mango sticky rice, and pork belly for good measure. Everything was great! Got the extra level hot spices in the side, nice and hot! Tasted fresh, looked really good. The mango sticky rice was super fresh, probably the best I've ever had. Pad See Ew is my personal favorite Thai dish, I think it's as good as other places but the portion did seem a little smaller in the black takeaway container. The fried rice was packed in, usually we have leftovers, ended up eating it all up! The pork belly had awesome sauce with it, the included cucumber seemed bitter but no worries. The lady who took our order and served us was professional and kind, gave us drinks sitting in while we waited for the takeout. Nice little cozy spot, I highly recommend this place, I'll be going back to try their soups and probably most of this same order again. Good job!
