Super long wait for food on a Sunday lunch but rounding up from a 4.5 to 5 because the food was that good. They are also quite disorganized...numbers came out in various orders. Since they were overwhelmed I think they made food in large batches before moving onto the next dish which changed up the orders. We waited 35 minutes for our dumplings and 50 minutes for our beef noodle soup. Luckily there are tons of other stalls so we got other food first while we waited. The dumplings are large, plump, juicy, and filled with meat! Probably one of the best in the ATL area (we also like Northern China Eatery) Coming from CA, $8 a plate felt like a steal. We ordered the pan fried pork dumplings and potstickers although the potstickers were a different style than what we were used to. My husband loved the beef noodle soup - for me I wished there were some pickled veggies and wanted the broth to be a little less sweet. It was still good though. Big portion. Would definitely return but probably at opening so we don't have to wait as long!

DUMPLINGS AND NOODLES AND BAOS OH MY | Lao Wei Dao is a-ok! I had high expectations for the soup dumplings that everyone was raving about and waiting in line for. I've been a couple times in the past couple of years to hopefully validate these claims and was unfortunately a bit disappointed each time. Soup dumplings and pan fried pork baos are not bad. I preferred Xiao's Ways before they shut down, though. I did prefer the pan fried pork baos over the soup dumplings - the pan fried pork baos had nice crispy bottoms and some tasty filling. However, the soup dumplings were disappointing. I found the soup dumpling skin to be too thick and the filling to be bland, albeit meaty. They were also sold out of the crab dumplings when we arrived around 7:30pm. Overall, I found Lao Wei Dao to be SUPER overhyped but based on the level of Chinese food in Atlanta, it was passable.

This restaurant vendor in food court serve traditional noodle. It is in the grocery store food court. The competition in the food court is great but there are plenty people visit the food court and make that very evenly distribute the business. We got the fish preserves vegetables noodle soup. There are a lot of fish fillets in the noodle soup. The preserves vegetables make it a bit sour. Soup base is good. A lot of food that can be take the remaining home.

Pan fried pork bao is too soft and oil. Not crispy at all! The worst I have in my life

The service is bad! The food is not good! I order pan fried pork bao, it is not crispy at all. It is oil and soft. And when I told them, they told me it is liked that!

So good!! If you're looking for quick and inexpensive soup dumplings and don't need the frills of a restaurant, this is your spot! The menu items are very affordable - it's very rare to find soup dumplings for under $10! Note a 3.5% fee for credit card though. The soup dumplings took 10min or so, and the other dishes followed afterwards. It looked like a family establishment and you could see them in the back hand wrapping all the dumplings, so you know it's fresh! You can enter through both the Tokyo Kuma or Jusgo entrance, it's located in between them.

This is exactly what I was craving and super affordable. I got 3 menu items that were plenty for two people and just $20 total. We got the pork soup dumpling, the pan fried prime dumpling, and the sumai dumpling and I like them in that order. I think the sumai dumpling would've been better without the rice. If that were an option, I would've gotten that! The service was good, they even brought the food to us, which we did her expect given they don't really have waitresses. It is located in the super market so it's like a cafeteria vibe. If you're going for a place with a good vibe, this might not be the spot, but we went solely for the food and we really enjoyed it!

Stumbled upon this restaurant after coming to check out another restaurant. It is located inside a large Chinese grocery store and with plenty of parking. We got the pan fried soup dumplings and they were very good! Great flavor and portion sizes. ** it does take about 20 minutes to come out** The Shanghai Shumai was mediocre and 2/5. AWARE THAT THEY CHARGE FOR USING CREDIT CARD!

Shared some yummy pan fried dumplings on a busy Saturday as it took about 20 minutes to come out. They were plump and pretty good size given they were under $10. Adding a little of the black vinegar/soy sauce into the dumpling made the bites even better! Staff were nice and provided an additional utensils or bowls requested. Would come again to try more from their menu including the Taiwanese beef noodle soups we saw other people ordering on the way out.

Arrived yesterday afternoon. We were too hungry. So didn't take pics for all items. Nice food court. Some empty spaces though. This place is good. Food is very good. Wonton - huge pieces and very tasty. Perfect for the cold day. Steamed dumpling - served with vinegar. Soup inside and smooth. Sticky rice with salted egg - two piece per order - taste good. Just like the ones I had in nyc. Discount for cash payment. Will try again if in the area.

The hand made bao is great dish which start making the bao til you place the order , crispy on the bottom, soft on the top with juicy meat patty inside, the wonton soup is very authentic and tradition .

I was craving noodles and dumplings, and this seemed to have been the place for it. There certainly was a good amount of folks bringing their business here. Soup dumplings with pork ($6.95): The soup inside is good was the hub's comment, and it was. I really enjoyed it overall. The pork inside was tasty with a good amount of soup. Too bad I had to share the 6 dumplings with him. The wrapping was just a tad too thick compared to the ones in NY, but it was comparable. Crab meat pork dumplings ($7.95): It wasn't necessarily that much better for the $1 more in price; you still get 6 in total. I guess the flavor was a tab more bland compared to the pork one. There were some soup in these dumplings, but it wasn't as soup-y as the other. If you don't consume it immediately, the wrapping will become a little bit hard due to its thickness. Pork chili pepper noodle ($9.50): Cheap and yummy are the two descriptors. The pork and green pepper slices def added nice colors and textures to the dish. The dish overall was a bit salty imo, but the hubs didn't think so. It was overall a very good price for its portion size. Lao Wei Dao is inside the Jusgo Supermarket food court. As another Yelper pointed out, there won't be an English version to the name so be on the lookout for the bamboo basket with buns/dumplings on the inside. The business is on the left hand side that's directly facing the grocery store. Also, the store will be passing the credit card fee (3.5%) onto you so bring cash if you remember it or have it on hand.

We were in the area and wanted some soup dumplings, and R found Lao Wei Dao on Yelp. This business has a limited Chinese food menu, but it includes items such as Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), braised beef noodle soup and Shanghai shaomai dumplings, all of which we ordered and shared. Lao Wei Dao is one of many food vendor stalls in the food court attached to Jusgo Supermarket. Seating areas are very spacious in this food court, and the many tables have space between them so that customers don't feel crowded. Lao Wei Dao's order counter faces Jusgo Supermarket, and does not have a sign with English letters on it, so, above the vendor stall, look for the sign that has a bamboo steamer (the basket in which baos are steamed) on it. The employee that took our order was nice and very customer oriented, and answered all of our questions about many of the menu items. The very attentive employee brought our food to our table within 15 minutes after we ordered. The Xiao Long Bao (6 per order) were uniform in shape and size, great tasting with a pork flavor, and we enhanced it with the vinegar/soy sauce and sliced ginger that we dipped the dumplings into and poured into. Every one of the dumplings had a good amount of soup in it. So far, these are the best tasting soup dumplings I've had in Atlanta. Although the noodles were cooked just a little past al dente, I was disappointed in the braised beef noodle soup. The broth had a too light flavor, and most of the chunks of beef were tough and had lots of chewy gristle running through the chunks. I didn't enjoy the Shanghai shaomai dumplings at all. I was expecting a light flavor, which they definitely did not have. This shaomai (4 pieces per order) had sticky rice and crumbled meat in them, had what I considered a burnt flavor and the outside of the dumplings were dry and chewy. So far, the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) is the only item on the menu that I would consider coming back to eat.

The PAN fried soup dumplings are so good and so was the braised beef noodle soup and for the price this was a 9 out of 10 experience . The service was 10 out of 10 and would definitely recommend also don't forget to TIP, The ambience was very different but overall very unique with cool arcade area and different vendors all Around.

Royal China - Disappointing Experience…read more We have been coming to Royal China every year as part of our Christmas tradition, and we've always loved their Peking duck. Unfortunately, this year's experience was extremely disappointing. The service was terrible. We waited 40 minutes just to get our drinks, and after placing our food order, we waited another hour and a half with no food arriving. We were repeatedly told that the food was "coming soon," but nothing came. For reference, we ordered very simple dishes -- green beans, cauliflower, and eggplant -- items that should not take over an hour to prepare. Eventually, the duck arrived after an hour and a half, but none of the side dishes came with it. We had to speak to the manager three separate times, and the staff was rude and dismissive throughout the experience. The restaurant is very authentic, and we were clearly in the minority as guests, but that should never justify such poor service. Sadly, our five-year tradition of spending Christmas here was completely ruined. If you decide to visit this restaurant, be aware that the service can be extremely disappointing.

There are some differences to how menu items are made/taste from when I first had it, so I feel as though the chef has most likely changed. It's both good and bad because the menu items with taro aren't quite as nice as before, but other things are either the same or better like the Beef Ho Fun for example. The chicken feet have changed too, but both were good. All the classic items are still basically the same. I liked the pan fried chives dumplings and beef cheung fun here. I can't speak for dinner or how it is on the weekdays, but it's quite busy over the weekends, which is expected for dim sum. It's a large space too, but once it's busy, you'll have to take a number and wait for a table. There's some seating along the side of the entrance to wait, but it may still take awhile. Usually, only one person really has to go and take a number, so if possible, one person should strive to get there earlier.

I thought there was a generous portion of the crispy pork in my meal. There were some mustard greens in the rice plate which added nice variation in taste. Having been at least once every couple months for years, it's our Chinese comfort food as dim sum is meant to be. Although I would recommend arriving at anytime they are open, we find the absolute best time for dim sum is to arrive right at opening on Saturday or Sunday. This time lets us beat the wait, get a great table fast, and the food is super plentiful, hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The chrysanthemum tea is a must have and complements the food as a perfect, tasty, and just sweet enough palate cleanser (although I would prefer to add the rock sugar myself to my tea, they serve it with sugar already inside the pot). For the absolute best pairing with your chrysanthemum tea, make sure to save room for the awesome pineapple buns while supplies last. They were out today and we all collectively cried (will be going back just for the pineapple buns soon...we are just not complete without them!). We love all the dishes, but our absolute favorites (outside of the pineapple buns) are the pork spare ribs with black bean, the beef rice rolls/noodles, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Add some spicy sauce to the spare ribs and turnip cakes to really set them off! For iced coffee lovers who like it really strong, don't pass up on the iced coffee. It has legs that are strong enough to walk, but completely complements the dim sum with a little extra boost to help you enjoy the day. So, I challenge others to find a better dim sum place in Atlanta. That is why Canton House earns my 5th star and looking forward to getting my pineapple buns (really) soon!

The sauce it came with was great too- perfectly sweet & vinegary. - Dry beef mixed noodles: The beef was super tender, and the noodles were flavorful. Every bite was rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. In contrast, the Boiled Fish Fillet in Soy Sauce showcased the kitchen's finesse with more delicate flavors. The fish was exceptionally fresh, flaky, and perfectly cooked, served in a light soy-based sauce with scallions and greens. It allowed the natural sweetness of the fish to shine and provided a wonderful balance to the spicier dishes on the table. The Chicken in Cold Spicy Sauce with Ground Peanuts was another standout. The chicken was moist and tender, dressed with fragrant chili oil, garlic, cilantro, and crunchy toppings that added texture and freshness. It was refreshing yet packed with flavor and made for an excellent appetizer. We enjoyed it with steamed rice. The Braised Pork Belly was beautifully prepared, with alternating layers of meat and fat that practically melted in your mouth. The rich soy-based braising sauce was savory with a touch of sweetness, making it the perfect companion to a bowl of steamed rice. The Spicy Noodles with Ground Pork and Peanuts were simple but incredibly addictive. The chewy noodles, savory minced pork, roasted peanuts, and fresh greens created a perfect combination of textures and flavors. Once mixed together, every bite delivered a satisfying balance of richness, crunch, and subtle heat. What impressed me most about Humble House was the authenticity of the food. The flavors are bold and unapologetically traditional, the portions are generous, and each dish feels thoughtfully prepared. The setting is casual since it's located inside the supermarket food court. If you're looking for authentic Sichuan and Chinese comfort food in Duluth, Humble House is absolutely worth a visit. Whether you're craving fiery boiled fish, comforting braised dishes, flavorful cold appetizers, or satisfying noodle bowls, this spot delivers. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

I've had their green beans (must-get), their dry pot, their stir-fried intestines, and eggplant fish clay pot. All of which there were no complaints and only exclaims at how yummy the food was! I don't have any pictures because my friends and I literally shovel the food into our mouths every time. Everything is seasoned and flavored well and pretty good portion size. They also make everything super fast so you usually won't have to wait more than 10 mins for your order to be ready. All that to say, come try their food and you will not he disappointed! Pro-tip: Ask for their chili oil which they make in-house. Otherwise, I also like grabbing some chili oil from Ping's Place right next door.

Happy Valley Dim Sum & Cantonese Cuisine in Norcross, GA…read more Happy Valley has been around for about 30 years. This was actually my first time visiting their new location. My family has always been a fan of Happy Valley. Har Gow 9.5/10 Translucent skin with a full shrimp inside. The texture and flavor are very close to what I've had in Guangdong. Hong Kong Style Egg Tart 9/10 Best when they come out fresh. Flaky buttery crust with smooth egg custard and a golden top. Feng Zao (Chicken Feet) 8.5/10 Good color and the skin has the classic wrinkled texture from braising. The flavor is savory with a slight sweetness, though a little lighter than expected. Beef Tripe 8.5/10 Tender with a slight chew and absorbs the sauce well. The radish underneath was really good. Beef Rice Roll 7.5/10 The flavor is good, but the presentation is not very Cantonese style. The rice roll is slightly thick but has a nice rice fragrance. The soy sauce they use is not very authentic. I used to eat rice rolls almost every day for breakfast when I was in school in Guangzhou, so I am very picky about rice rolls. Pork Siumai 8.5/10 Pretty classic dim sum. Clams 7.8/10 The clams themselves are fresh and well cleaned. Do not be afraid to ask them to reheat if it comes out cold. However, the sauce was a bit too heavy for me.

For the price and the area, the food quality just wasn't there, especially compared to other dim sum spots we've tried across the US and Vancouver. Food quality Most of the dim sum we ordered came out cold, and some items seemed like they were reheated (microwave style) to warm them up. That made the outer texture thicker and less pleasant. Even the fried items were disappointing: the outside was soggy, not crisp. I especially had high hopes for fried items like fried taro and fried eggplant, but both were below par. Best item we tried The one standout was the Hong Kong style seafood chow mein with a clear sauce. That dish was genuinely good. Everything else ranged from "okay" to forgettable. Value I don't remember the exact total, but for a similar spend, I strongly feel you could get better dim sum elsewhere. It didn't feel worth the money. Service Service was fine. They were willing to heat items when we asked, which I appreciated, but it also highlighted the bigger issue: dim sum should arrive hot and properly cooked in the first place. Atmosphere The atmosphere was actually nice. It was pretty clean, and on Sunday there were carts, which could have been fun. But because many items were cold and not great, we ended up ordering instead of relying on the carts. Would I return? No. The space is pleasant, but the food and overall execution just don't justify the price.
