The place is quite a bit smaller than the first location we tried, so be mindful of that. I feel like it'd be quite easy for a line to get backed up here. There are also less flavors in this location, but it didn't matter at all to us. Staff was very friendly, and helpful and we were promptly taken care of. We had a challenging time picking between flavors, so we got 2 different cups with 2 flavors each. Flavors we chose, in no particular order: 1.) Oreo Cookie Crunch, 2.) Mini Peanut Butter Cup n Fudge, 3.) Caramel Coconut Macademia Nut, and 4.) Mauna Kea's Secret. From the lot, the clear favorite was Mauna Kea's Secret, and it wasn't really close. I've always heard about lappert's hawaii and the one in oahu is tucked in a hotel that I never got around, so when I saw that there was a lapperts by the only foodland in Kauai, we took the advantage to check them out. All the flavors sounded soo good, but we weren't that hungry so we decided to try the kaua'i pie which was their own kona supreme coldbrew with dark chocolate fudge and macadamia nuts and macadamia nut ice cream. My husband loves macadamia nut ice cream so it was a no brainer for him to get that and I love coffee so I had to get the kauai pie. Great ice cream here. There used to be a shop in Hermosa Beach but closed a long time ago. Coming to Princeville is nice because we can get here. There are not many places left on the mainland; I only know of one that is a Lappert's or similar is in The California Hotel in Downtown Las Vegas. I personally like the Kauai Pie. My guy wanted to get more Lappert's so we decided to try a bunch of different flavors at this location. We didn't have issues with the guy that served us. There are less flavors here than at the other location we visited, but we ended up settling on (from favorite to least favorite) Mauna Kea's Secret, Mini Peanut Butter Cup 'n Fudge, Caramel Coconut Macadamia Nut, and Oreo Cookie Crunch. Mauna Kea's Secret was by far the best out of all the flavors we tried. I would give this place 5 stars just for that flavor alone. After all the flavors I have tried from Lappert's, I can confidently say that it really depends on which flavor you get as to what kind of experience you're going to get. read more

What we got: I got a half scoop of coconut macadamia nut fudge (love the bits of coconut flakes and chocolate ribbons - def a must) and and half scoop of regular coconut (classic, but hit the spot). My bf and I had Lappert's for the first time last year at the southern part of Kauai and we loved it so much! We were excited when we saw there was one not far from our hotel in Princeville! We came 2 days ago 10 mins before closing time and the woman told us the card machine wasn't working and we would have to pay with cash which we didn't have. So we came the next day and asked if the card machine was working and she said yes. The woman wasn't warm and friendly. She made us feel like she didn't want to serve us. I quickly picked an ice cream flavor, paid and we got out of there. The ice cream also was not good. It's a smaller location with not as many flavors to choose from. You can select from sundaes, shakes, scoops, and even coffee. This location is smaller than other Lappert's I've been to. No seating inside but there are a couple of outdoor benches. Service could be improved. The woman at the front was very grumpy and didn't look like she wanted to be there. I was also having a tough time deciding between certain flavors but we were only allowed to sample one flavor. Well would've had loved to try this place but that all went to shit because of a nasty employee that works there. While me and my son were ordering our ice cream, the girl serving us, stopped to cough in her hand and then went back to making our order. I was kind of shocked and stunned at the same time and didn't want to get into an argument with this person so I paid for my stuff , left and threw that shit straight in the trashcan. They are standing talking to their friends. 50 minutes goes by (mind you business should still be open) and they locked doors and went to their car. The customer service is terrible, the girl working doesn't even acknowledge you, the message being clear that you are wasting her time by coming in.
