Ice cream on Pier 39. That is what you are paying for. The line was packed during the day we went. The service was good, the ice cream was ok, just hard to justify spending that much money on it again. There is seating in the back (stools facing the boats docked in the bay).

I decided to treat myself while we were at Pier 39, so we stopped at Lappert's Ice Cream Shop. I ordered the blueberry cheesecake ice cream, and my wife got her usual Double Chocolate Fudge. Mine was cheesecake flavored with blueberry swirls, and apparently, the ice cream is made in house. I really enjoyed it and it did not disappoint. The shop itself is decorated like a classic ice cream parlor and candy store. The ice cream was absolutely delicious, and I would definitely return.

Very creamy chocolate milkshake. We were surprised there wasn't whipped cream. I got Gavin a chocolate gelato brioche sandwich a few doors down, but he did not seem to enjoy it so we just came in here for his dessert instead. Only 2 gals behind the counter, but they were efficient, and friendly. A few tables and a bench outside for folks wanting to enjoy.

I was roaming around in Pier 39. This seemed like a fun place to have a quick ice cream. I went for 3 scoops - pistachio, ube macapuno and lychee. Lychee was my favorite flavor. Ube macapuno was good. Pistachio didn't have much flavor. I also went for a coconut macadamia shake. That was a good flavor as well.

Looking for a cooling center and feel trapped because of the heatwave in San Francisco? On a Summer stroll at the heart of the tourist trap called Pier 39 there is a place which serves different kinds of flavor of ice cream. In this San Francisco heatwave there is a place to refresh and beat the heat. Lapperts (different brand than the Hawaiian one ) serves lots of tropical and Hawaiian inspired flavors in the mainland. There is also lots of coffee and tropical flavored ice cream here. The only San Francisco location of Lappert's is stuck in the middle of the tourist trap of the Pier 39 boardwalk which has people from the all over world having a taste of different flavors. You can smell the fresh waffle cones being made in front of you while you wait to order. There are lots of flavors to choose from but I decided on a scoop of orange colored Manila Mango and a scoop of the Purple Ube on a fresh waffle cone. The Manila Mango scoop was a bit tangy but with good flavor and the Ube was a little more savory and it was a good ice cream combination. Although at Pier 39 is usually charging premium pricing but for premium ice cream it's a good value. A good place to cool out and enjoy a scoop of Lappert's ice cream at Pier 39 in San Francisco. Come to Pier 39 and "take" a "break" and enjoy the views of an ocean not a river or a " lake" while enjoying the food like the surf and turf which is seafood and "steak" Save room for dessert smell the waffle cones at Lapperts in real time as they "bake" there are lots of flavors inside with lots of decisions to "intake "and "make "as you can choose from ice cream flavors like Kauai Pie, Ube Macapuno and "blueberry cheesecake " or get mania like wrestle mania and wrestle over the different flavors of Lappert's " milkshake"

I love the Lappert's in Hawaii. My favorite flavor is coconut pineapple. They didn't have it in this San Francisco location so I got a chocolate peanut butter milk shake instead. Milk shake consistency was perfect, not too thin and not overly thick. It's not Haagen Daz but it was good enough with a few chocolate flakes and peanut butter chunks. Counters were clean, napkins were available and friendly servers were ready to help. Line went fairly quick and lots of people in and out, just to look or to buy.

Most people will say the American dream is the nuclear family and home ownership. Considering the state of the economy, I have to find that dream elsewhere. For me it's the feeling of walking down Pier 39 with the afternoon sun on my face and waffle cone in hand. There is no better bliss in this world. I have always maintained that some of the best food I have ever had is in Hawaii (certainly the coffee), so when I walked into Lapperts, and realized it is Hawaiian, you can imagine the excitement I felt. Two scoops in a waffle cone is a classic treat, so I went with (if I recall correctly) the Kona Mocha Chip, and horchata cajeta. Easily the best ice cream I have ever had. Much better than owning a home.

This spot appears to be popular at Pier 39. There is a constant line, which goes by rather quickly. There are some tables and benches out front to enjoy the ice cream. They had a choice of one free topping for the month of April. Lots of interesting flavors to pick from. The scoops were generous. As others have mentioned, I wished there was a kid's size scoop. There is a choice between a cup, regular cone or sugar cone. Expect to spend a little over $8 for the small sizes. The ice- cream was not too sweet and creamy. Customer service was quick and friendly. Store is briefly lit and colorful, just like the flavor offerings.

Delicious ice cream! My first time trying it and I think I've found one of my new favorite flavors Caramel Coconut Macadamia Nut. It was so good and had macadamia nut pieces and shredded coconut in it. My only issue was the ice cream was too melted when they gave it to me. I'm not sure if the scoop they used was too hot but it was very melted which took away from the ice cream.

We enjoyed the Ice Cream, here. The experience in this place is cute, I like the asthetic here, they have all kinds of flavors, I want to try next time I come back.

Happy to support a local business. With the multitude of flavors, you're bound to find one that is a favorite. People behind the counter were friendly.

Fisherman's Wharf has a lot of Ice Cream spots and I think there are better options. The service was ok and the ice cream is pretty basic. I feel that it is over priced, it is SF so not suprised. The ambiance is just a small ice cream shop. There are no seats inside just standing areas, outside there are picnic tables.

A little pricy but it's San Francisco. They have so many flavors and you can sample. You can't go wrong with ice cream. I get 1 when I visit.

They allow you to sample up to three flavors, and I ended up choosing the black sesame and crème brûlée. Unfortunately, both flavors felt a bit muted to me. I was especially disappointed by the crème brûlée since my scoop had very few of the crunchy caramelized bits that make that flavor special. I was also expecting a richer, creamier ice cream given the reputation, but it tasted fairly standard to me. Of course, texture and richness are subjective, but overall it didn't quite live up to the hype.

Somehow, despite passing by so many times, I had never stopped into Philmore Creamery until tonight and now I'm wondering what took me so long. As someone who loves gelato but is lactose intolerant, I was beyond thrilled to see such an incredible selection of sorbettos and non-dairy options. I have tried dessert spots all over the city, so I don't say this lightly: this is hands-down the best gelato I've had in San Francisco and some of the best gelato I've had anywhere in my life. I ordered the dark chocolate sorbet and the strawberry sorbet, and both were absolutely outstanding. Rich, intensely flavorful, perfectly textured, and incredibly fresh. Every bite tasted like it was made with high-quality ingredients. One of the highlights of my visit was meeting Jordan and his mom, Mona, the owners. They were so welcoming and passionate about what they do. I learned that everything is made on-site with fresh ingredients and no artificial additives, and you can truly taste the difference. The flavors are vibrant, authentic, and unbelievably delicious. I've officially found my new favorite dessert spot in San Francisco. I already can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu. If you're anywhere near Fillmore, do yourself a favor and stop in, you won't regret it.
