This company is downright CRIMINAL and you should avoid at all cost. Be warned, if you want your furniture and belongings treated like trash - to end up scratched, broken, and shattered - while being charged over 3x your original Do-Not-Exceed price, then go ahead and hire this company. If you value your time, money, and belongings, I advise you to look elsewhere. First, we were quoted $900 to move our 1 bedroom apt to a building literally across the street. Prior to move-out date, we had already made a dozen trips and cleared out much of the apartment. We sent them an excel list of everything remaining and signed a contract with a DO-NOT-EXCEED cost of $900. On moving day, the two-movers were late, and extremely slow. They ran out of plastic wrap early in the move, and instead of getting more, decided to throw all of our furniture in their truck unwrapped. After 8 hours of move, they asked me if I would authorize an additional person. I agreed. 11 hours later, and nearly every item of furniture that was moved being damaged, I received the invoice. $2,900. They charged us full overtime for ALL THREE of the movers after the 8 hour mark. This wasn't right, and was a very deliberate overtime-earning tactic, but whatever. And what about the damaged furniture? The movers asked me to take it up with their head, Ricardo, and I agreed. I still tipped the movers despite feeling extremely frustrated at the entire process. The next day, I received a notice on my debit card that the full amount had been charged to my card without authorization. I called Ricardo and did not pick up or respond to email. I contested the charge. Larro's moving submitted a FALSIFIED document where they handwrote a "2" in front of the original $900 to submit to the credit card company. You really can't make this up. As I paid with a debit card, my dispute was denied. Thumbtack, where we found this company, was not helpful as they are purely a marketplace. Lastly, my mistake for not doing this, but always take a photo of the agreement and DNE price (or receive a carbon copy), and never pay with a debit card. read more

My crew was courteous, professional and fast. They checked in a couple of times before arrival, which was great, because I'm always running behind. A lot of my things are antiques, and many were inherited from family, so they mean a lot to me. I had a different moving company scheduled to do my move. That mover rescheduled. Then that mover no-showed on the day I was rescheduled! I had to find a mover to move me ON THE SAME DAY WITHIN A FEW HOURS. Finding a needle in a haystack in 5 mins would prove easier. I used the Yelp Quote tool to send out my request to 5 businesses at a time without having to retype 5 messages. I used it 4 times to send out quotes to 20 Bay Area moving companies. I chose this one. The response time was rapid, the price was fair, the ability to pull together a 3 man team and a truck so fast? Priceless. I mean think about it. Everyone wants to move on a Friday or Saturday so your moving crews are off on Sunday or they are doing more moves tired. Sundays at 7AM? Easily the absolute worst time to find a moving company to move you same day before noon. The movers came, carefully wrapped my breakable glass pieces, encased my solid wood furniture in plastic film to prevent chips, and disassembled beds. Oh an all of my fancy "firm memory foam whatever you want to not feel like your bones and muscles are garbage when you wake up" mattresses got mattress bagged. The movers were professional, hardworking, and conscientious of my breakables. Everything was well cared for which made me happy. Stay way from this company at all costs if you value your stuff. First the good parts. Communication before the move was generally good. The movers arrived on time and were courteous and fast. They are also affordable. For the most part I thought everything went well. It was after the move that problems occurred. I found damage on one of my most prized art pieces that's not replaceable. I reached out and at first they just pushed back it on me saying it was my fault and they wouldn't cover it. I had photos and repeatedly had to persist that this was a valid claim. Finally they agreed to a claim and surprise the claim was denied. During the day of move, they have you sign a form that states many things but they don't explain the impact. I was never asked if I wanted a property inspection ahead of time, just that declined. Well I guess that removes my possibility to make a claim, something I was not aware of. After the move when my new apartment is still totally packed, they ask if there are any damages but it's impossible to assess when everything is still in boxes. How is anyone going to able to inspect EVERY single item for damages when everything is still packed? Another form to sign at the end of a long day with no input on how it impacts your claims. First of all, when I asked if my art would be protected, their movers said it would. They did not say it would not be covered if wrapped in blankets. They recommended blankets. Apparently it's only covered if its in boxes. They don't tell you this. I made choices based on the information the movers gave me. When brought up with management, they took zero ownership. They didn't even say sorry there was damages. They tried at first to blame me, saying this was damaged before the move. But I have pictures showing the items were not damaged before. While I saved some money compared to my last money, it wasn't worth it. The only thing that matters during a move is your property not being damaged. I don't understand the point of insurance for moving if you follow their instructions and they say the claim is invalid. Last of all, the owner who I spoke to, just doesn't want to any ownership that this was their fault. Repeatedly insisting that this was my fault and my responsibility. Stay away from this company. DAMAGED MY FURNITURE AND LIED ABOUT IT 8 HOURS TO MOVE 1 BD APT; $1200 total I'm giving 2 stars because 1) they got my stuff from A to B and Ricardo is very responsive and 2) they were able to help me in less than a day's notice when my other movers no-showed BUT- their crew broke 3 handles off my dresser and desk, dented my brand new media console, and dropped a box labeled FRAGILE full of wine/bar glassware from shoulder height. Miraculously, only one small mezcal glass broke because I had packed it with so much insulation, so I'll leave that aside. I immediately took photos of the damage and when I sent them to Ricardo he told me the crew said all of the damage was done previously and I noted it to them and took pictures of it. AN ABSOLUTE LIE. They arrived 15 minutes before their estimated window and worked for hours. Some movers we've had in the past usually seem distant and agitated, especially if you change your mind on where to move something. Not these guys! They were focused, but still happy and always willing to move anything again until the item was just where it needed to be. They disassembled and reassembled as needed. Our move involved helping us split our furniture and boxes between a POD going to storage until we find our retirement home in SoCal and the remainder moving about 8 blocks. I used Larro's Moving Service to move from Pittsburg, CA to Walnut Creek, CA yesterday. I was only renting a room so I didn't have a ton of stuff to move. I prepped as much as I could beforehand at the reccomendation of Larro's Moving Service. I'm so glad I did and ultimately decided to use them! I'm sure they were also pleasantly surprised to see how little stuff I had and that they weren't moving the whole house! The move started at 10 AM and ended slightly after 12 PM. With just two guys (Jose and Eduardo) they moved my stuff faster and more efficiently than the last time I moved which had three guys! Also I'm sure this is standard with moving companies as well but they provided wardrobe boxes for the stuff that hangs in your closet so you don't have to pack that, (extremely helpful and time efficient!) They even took the time to unpack the wardrobe boxes for me! (Which I didn't even ask them to do). Ultimately the end price for their services was half of what I paid the last time I moved, they moved my stuff faster and more efficiently with just the two of them (Jose and Eduardo) and did it all with a smile within 2 hours. I was recommended these guys from a co-worker and was not disappointed. They are highly rated and deserve every positive review they get. These guys were seriously beasts and moved everything quickly and efficiently. We were just moving down the street. Our move time was a total of 2 hours which included moving items into the truck then unloading. We hired three guys who brought a huge truck! Moving during COVID is already stressful but they showed up with masks and took safety precautions of their own. Pro tip: make sure you pre-pack everything yourself and label the boxes. This will help the movers immensely and save you some time. Time is money and save yourself some money by using the time to pack, tape and label everything. Everything was carefully wrapped, and they took care to pull them through passages without messing them up. José and Mario were incredibly helpful in moving me out of my one bedroom apartment, into my new apartment, and even made an additional stop to my storage facility. When plans unexpectedly changed, both Mario and José were very accommodating and there to help me out. I had run out of bubble wrap and was unable to wrap fragile items like big mirrors and a glass desk, but they showed up with more materials to help wrap things up quickly. These guys are strong. We were downsizing from a 3 bed house to an apartment complex a couple miles away. We requested 2 movers from Larro's Moving Service since we were able to make things more efficient by having most of the furniture ready in one spot for them at the house. We also had a narrow time slot with a reserved freight elevator so we were all a little worried we wouldn't make it. During the move, we would help them as much as possible so we weren't just standing there watching. We ended up finishing everything with 2-3 minutes to spare! They were very efficient and wrapped all the furniture with saran wrap which was a great bonus that not all services provide. The mover were both nice and friend and were professional during the moving process. Unfortunately after the move was over that one takes the time to carefully assess their furniture as they clean and reorganizes thing is that I noticed several items got scratched or had corners damaged. The stair case was all scratched up and even a band new bed frame which I had bought just a few months ago. When I called the owner he said that he had to review the contract and talk to the mover but he never called me back. In small print there were areas that the mover had marked off prior to their arrival that indicated that any damages aren't their responsibility. The owner kept insisting whether we had done an inspection prior to the move. How is anyone going to inspect every inch and corner of every item one has. I even told him that I could show him pictures to prove that the damaged items were intact prior to the move but he said that the inspection had to be done that same day. Basically nothing is their fault. The movers never even mentioned an inspection at any point during the job. Although items can be replaced that's not the point of hiring a moving company. That means the movers need to be very efficient and smart with the space, as well as thinking carefully about how to protect everything from moving and jostling when it is being transported. I watched them test out different configurations and work hard to make everything fit safely. When my pod arrived at its destination, nothing had moved or broken. Larro's was the best moving decision we made. We scouted a few places on Yelp, got some quotes, and combed through reviews to help us move our small 1 BR. Ricardo Larro was responsive on the phone despite being on a job when I called, had very reasonable pricing compared to others and most importantly, I was particularly drawn to an earlier review where the person couldn't get a couch to fit through a doorway but Larro was able to help accomplish this. This stood out to me because our place was really small and I was very stressed about the challenge of disassembling our couch and loft bed to get it to fit through the door. On the day of the move, I got a third free mover despite only being quoted for 2. Jose, Miguel, and David were very friendly, made sure they understood what was needed, went over the moving process/documentation clearly and then got to work. When it came time to move the couch - which I thought was going to involve a very messy taking apart of the couch's frame - they were able to come up with a very elegant solution... they simply removed the door off its hinges and were able to move the couch without dismantling it! Then screwed the door back on like it was nothing! The loft bed was not a problem either. All my stuff was nicely wrapped and moved without any damage to doorways, floors, walls, etc. The three worked very efficiently to move all my stuff well within my expected time frame. I'm very happy with the service and the value for money.
