Larro's contacted me a couple of days in advance to provide an inventory list so they could be prepared. I hired a two-man crew from Larro's to do my move from a shared roommate situation in San Francisco to a studio in Oakland. The guys were great, and they arrived on time, giving me a call before they arrived so I could be ready. They made quick work of my boxes and furniture and tactfully ignored both my crying and hovering. They were very efficient and arrived about five minutes after I did to the new place. The second move was long distance for all my 3-bedroom household furnishings and belongings. Each move required two locations for unloading. I was very happy with them on moving day, somewhat less so after unpacking. I had a major screw up with Uhaul that resulted in 4 of their UBoxes full of my belongings NOT being taken to my new home, and Ricardo was able to take his crew to the Haul site, unload everything from the UBoxes into a Larro's truck, then come to my house in Sunnyvale to wrap/pack and load all my furniture and the remaining items that hadn't gone into the UBoxes. They ended up having to bring a third truck so the outdoor items (patio furniture and even some plants and plant pots) could come up to my new home. The next day they drove up into El Dorado county, through a stream, and up a mile of logging road to get to my house, and then spent HOURS unloading everything, which was tricky because all of my neatly organized loading in the UBoxes had vanished and we had a situation of "this goes in the main house, this goes in the cottage, this goes in the storage shed..." THAT meant unloading in one place, putting some boxes aside, reloading them and taking them to another place, unloading, going back to get the other boxes to take to a different place... They were very accommodating and patient. There were a few glitches with the packing process (several things that were NOT supposed to be packed were, despite me going through it all with Ricardo multiple times) but on the whole it went well. The crew did a good job communicating where they were and when they'd arrive, and they worked really well as a team. They even hauled away a bunch of random furniture that had been placed by someone [not me] in the cottage and took it to the dump for me. There were breakages that I think could have been avoided. A glass coffee table top was smashed, but had only been placed in a cardboard "sleeve" with no padding. A wooden stool (camel-chair actually) had one side snapped and was not, as far as I could tell, padded, packed or wrapped at all. Larro's offered to reimburse me for the replacements (not that I can replace a 40-year-old piece that I brought from India 40+ years ago but I might be able to get it repaired), and I appreciate that. Annoyingly, the pieces needed for things like my printer and televisions (the power cords, for example) and the small pins needed to hold the shelves in my dish cabinet were not kept with them - finding them amid a huge number of boxes has proven almost impossible. Overall a very good experience with just a few unfortunate problems. I'd give 4.5 stars but apparently Yelp doesn't like halves. read more

Requirement: Pick up furniture from storage facility and move living room, kitchen, and bedroom furniture into a two story walk-up. My fiancé booked Larro's after using them for his own move across town. My belongings had been sent to a storage facility and they were completely fine meeting us there to unload the container. Due to moving changes, I actually had to move the date back and they were very kind and flexible about the shift even though it was only a week out. They were very professional and called the night before to make sure they had the correct time and location. We met them at the storage facility and the two gentlemen moved everything quickly and carefully onto their truck, repacking items as necessary. That part took around 30 minutes. We then drove across town to the apartment and they immediately started unloading. They did not waste a single second even when we were coming up on the two hour mark, they didn't slow down for a second. They were able to load, drive across town, then unload everything in 2 hours exactly. It was incredibly impressive. Whenever we move apartments next, I will absolutely be calling Larro's Moving Services first. read more

I've used movers in the past with mixed results. Something usually gets broken, walls damaged, etc. However this time was different. Larro's really did a meticulous job of wrapping/protecting everything and were super careful not to scratch any walls, etc. The other great thing was the job took longer than they estimated and the three guys worked until almost 8pm to get it done. Our crew was amazing. We moved from SF to San Jose in the middle of August on what felt like the hottest day of the year. Our crew was so professional and the heat didn't even phase them. They were fast and did a great job protecting all of our belongings - this might be the first move I've ever done where nothing was broken or damaged. We have a very heavy dresser with a glass top, and they moved it up three flights of stairs with no problem. They were very patient about making sure we were happy with where we put everything in our new place and made some great suggestions about where to put items. I've worked with Larro's twice now and both time the team was very quick in bringing our furniture into the van and then into where it needed to be in the apt. Both times they had to bring things from a 3rd story apt to another 3rd floor apt. Larros's moving service was beginning to end a great experience for us. This was our first time using a moving company. Usually we would have tackled this on our own, but I am so happy we called in the pros this time. Being our first time we were a bit nervous how things would go. Jose and Miguel soon put our minds at ease. They called an hour before arriving to let us know exactly when they would arrive. On move day, excellent job by Miguel and Jose (they really know how to move a lot of boxes to maximize time!). 2 separate apartments with furniture and boxes moved to our destination in the city (we prepacked). Some feedback to help them improve their business: Minor issue with a scratched kitchen table, but everything else was fine with the move. Minor nitpick: the truck was a little smaller than expected, which necessitated another trip, but since our locations were so close, this didn't impact time very much. Working with Larro's was a great experience! They are very thorough and wrapped up almost all of our furniture. They took great care of our stuff, although this did come at the expense of time (it took about 4.5 hours for us to move from one apartment to another that was 3.2 miles away). These guys are very professional and will NOT break or damage anything for sure. But I was surprised at how slow they were. A two man crew to move a one bedroom excluding the commute time between the places took 9 hours and that is with me helping (voluntarily of course). Who knows how long it might have taken if I hadn't jumped in there. I had packed everything beforehand except a couple of miscellaneous items (about two boxes worth). They were able to put a few miscellaneous items in a box, but refused to take others. That being said, there was no point in time when I found them not working, but they weren't really hustling either. I haven't moved within the Bay Area before, but after talking to a friend who has moved in the Bay and seen my place himself, he was quite surprised about the amount of time it took. At the end of the day though, you've got to pay up, who can be bothered debating the moving time after an exhausting day of moving. read more

My fiancé and I had to move quickly and unexpectedly. I reached out to several different moving companies and Larro's was the only company to respond within minutes. I had to move the belongings in a four bedroom house 55 miles away in less than two weeks. I spoke with someone named Carlos; he was very professional, knowledgeable and infinitely patient with me. I spoke with Carlos several times before the move; he was very kind and responsive and never hesitated to answer my questions. On moving day I had a four-man crew with two trucks. My movers were named Jose, Kevin, Juan and Francisco. We agreed to meet at 9am. They arrived promptly and were very neat, clean and professional in every way. I've never seen people work as efficiently and honestly as the crew from Larro's did. They were fully transparent, very attentive and they even protected furniture that I didn't know how to pack properly. They moved all of my belongings to the exact room that I wanted them in, and every bit of my belongings arrived perfectly in tact. Bonus: I was quoted at 8-10 hours for the move. My moving team finished in six hours and charged me accordingly, despite the fact that they all knew that I was prepared to pay much more. We were moving a 2 bedroom house and had packed about 6 boxes (not much at all) by the time they arrived on schedule at 9:30am in the morning. At the time of this review, these guys have the best quotes for a move from Sacramento to SF. I have used this company three total times and have had a great experience each time. They know how to take care of each unique item and they are on time. You will see from the first box they hoist up onto their back that these guys are true moving professionals. Larro's is the first moving service that I actually felt compelled to write an amazing review for--we had to find movers within 3 days and Ricardo took my phone call late at night and quickly sent me a super organized email to set us up (vs some other movers that are a little sketchy and wanted to text or not communicate via email).
