I love the food and vibes everything is good. The only thing that I was truly upset about was at the end of paying they have a sign saying they are charging a 4% tax for using CARD. Which in my case we paid with debit card and shouldn't be applied it is illegal, and the fact that the tax charge wasn't mentioned before ordering until the very end when it came time to pay. I will be reporting this to Mastercard and Visa.

I was in the Anaheim area for lunch and decided to try out Sabor Mi Tierra. I wasn't impressed with the decor and didn't expect much from the food. The chips were bland and didn't taste homemade, this was just confirming my thoughts about the food we were about to experience. But! To our surprise the food was tasty. We had the Potato Tacos, Rice, and Beans. Choice of beverage was can Coke. I wouldn't seek this place out but if in the area I might stop by.

Was in the mood for menudo and I knew this place would hit the spot, especially with the homemade tortillas. I wish I could add hominy but was told I couldn't although last time they told me I could lol. Anyway it's too good to not pass up. Very flavorful and just the right amount of spices. Service was very friendly and attentive despite how busy and loud it was today. The review above didn't post so I'm adding another to it. I went today for breakfast and had the chorizo. It was delicious and barely oily. The homemade tortillas were the cherry on top.

I come here all the time. I get the al pastor wet burrito (half red, half green) Feeds 2, super delicious. Talented chef, sweet and helpful waitresses. Recommendation to the owner, chilaquiles breakfast burrito!

Red & Green Sauce are really good . I had green chilaquiles , eggs over easy with asada and my wife had Pollo Guisado . Freshly made chips & salsa and our meals were served with fresh corn tortillas (hechas a mano). The music is really loud lol but the vibe was lively & they had games on all 6 tvs . We will be back again.

The combination of a bar-like ambiance had me asking if it was family-friendly atmosphere- it is family friendly! There was lot of tables (that seat 4) and we saw people come in and out. The service was attentive and accommodating, especially with a picky eater (kid). 5 stars for just the service!!! The decor of classic celebrity paintings and music playing in the background was so much fun to walk into. The food might be on the spicier side, but they are flexible in adjusting it to suit different preferences. The food was delicious. Take a look at the photos- full of fresh ingredients.

Absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend. Came in one a Saturday early evening and it wasn't busy at all (was seated right away). We had the Shrimp Cocktail and the Mojara plate. Both were large sizes and tasted pretty darn authentic (brought back childhood memories). The ambiance is very chill with cute decor. Very much appreciated that the whole place was very clean too. Can't wait to come back and try their other items!!

Run, don't walk, RUN!!! To try out the garlic shrimp here! Wow this was tasty. Garlicky but with a Latino flair! They offer two styles! Shell-on and peeled with tail on. Do the latter. Amazing flavor! It's a little pricey but that flavor makes it worthwhile! Beers are 5.50 and the tacos are $3. The tortillas are hand made and crazy good too! Service was fast and friendly! The decor is super cute! Modern Latino murals on the walls with La chilindrina and such. Highly recommend eating here!

Another Yelp recommendation- driving around town not knowing what we wanted to eat stumbled upon this on yelp when i searched homemade tortillas - super clean - staff was supper nice - food was good (beans were cold) and my fish tacos did lack in salt but overall everything tasted great. Horchata was amazing. French fries were my fave crispy and seasoned greatly - the salsa with chips was good & spicey chips tasted like they were just made- would def recommend this spot. & will eventually make my way back to try something else.

I ordered one carne asada and one al pastor machete. Delicious! Full of flavor, their salsas were not too spicy. I preferred the carne asada over the al pastor, just my preference. But if you're an al pastor fan definitely go for al pastor. Great service. The time I went their credit card machine wasn't working, take cash just in case. Will definitely return. read more

This place blew me away! I wasn't expecting much, since it's a hole in the wall, but I got a breakfast burrito and a gigantic steak quesadilla. First off the service was super friendly. The ladies made sure I held the bag up, so all the sauce wouldn't spill. Music to my ears! When I got home everything was super hot, fresh, and tasty! These were the best homemade tortillas I've had, and the salsas had a great kick! The meats were decent quality, which has been a qualm of mine with other hole in the wall places. My only complaints were that it's a little pricey (but worth it), and the burrito had thin cut French fries as the potatoes, but this is if I'm knit-picking. read more

Poor customer service, if you're not an older over served man they will ignore you. When we arrived we gave our server our order,mind you they were two easy plates to prepare and serve, it took them 45 minutes. A young man arrived after us he ordered his food and was served and he fished his meal while we still waited. We noticed the table behind us order the same items couldn't the cook make all 6 tacos at the same time. read more

The beautiful blue eye/Latina waitress was so kind, attentive and polite. She was working hard and served our food with a beautiful smile. The food was great, I ordered the menudo and it was tasty, very spicy and delicious, it had no harmony but the menudo was hardy, we never had menudo without harmony so it was a bit different for us. We also ordered a chicken quesadilla and it came with serving size salad as a side so delicious, the quesadilla was generously prepared was great with a cold beer. The Restaurant was super clean and small with lots of seating. We waited a few minutes to be seated, the decor was nice and so was the music they played. People seem to be loving their food. I didn't have a michelada with a juicy shrimp on the glass, but seen one prepared and it looked amazing and so did the Horchata. Will we return again? Absolutely! Next time I will order a michelada. This is my go to for breakfast with my dad. I always get the green chilaquiles with asada and he's tried the carne a la Mexicana and the asada plate. Everything tastes home made but the best part are the handmade tortillas. read more

We read all the great reviews on Yelp and had to check it out. Danny was so helpful and amazing and the food was super great too. When we went there was only one waitress, she was very nice but it was busy so we had to wait a good while to get service or receive our items. Even some people were raising their hands for her to go to them next. We waited almost an hour for our food and we tried the Mexican pizza and it was delicious. I would recommend but hopefully they can help out the staff more when they're short. read more

We decided to try this place after seeing it on Facebook and then looking it up here. Everything was fantastic we had the tacos Gabor, asada quesadilla, and the pizza mexicana. My bill which came to sixty one dollars, seemed a lil high at the time but we also had drinks and I paid little to no attention until I was in the car and checked my receipt. The char for the pizza was five dollars more than listed on the menu, the tacos was a dollar more, and a twenty ounce cup of mango juice was five. Still all was worth it but know the price before you order. read more

Second time stopping by this place! Definitely had to get the Tacos de TJ again!!! I have searched throughout OC to find tacos that are similar to TJ and I've always been disappointed, until I discovered this location! The tacos de al pastor come with hand made tortillas, fresh guacamole and a green sauce, so mouth watering. Also, got to try the fish taco and it was pretty good as well! The fish was fresh and crispy. I wanted a Mexican Coke, but went with the strawberry lemonade instead and I was happy with it because you can taste the naturalness of the strawberry. Finally, I grabbed a cheesed flavor flan to-go, and omg!!! It made my night. Thank you for making authentic Mexican food. read more

The food here was very disappointing and the lady at the register either had a rough day or just has bad attitude. The enchiladas were so bad. Perfect meal for a Mexican-food loving father for Father's Day! You know you made it to an authentic and legit Mexican restaurant when every single one of the salsas they offer are HOT. Not flavorless and HOT, but instead HOT and filled with delicious flavor, which keeps you coming back for more each bite. Mexican Pizza is absolutely amazing! Tacos Gobernador very good! Carne Asada, Al Pastor, and Chorizo meats are all delicious in flavor! Aguas frescas and Horcahata are fantastic! Each tortilla is hand made right there for your order and taste fantastic. Prices are more than reasonable, too. read more

A bit disappointed with my first visit here. Placed a simple order ahead by phone, but by the time I came to pick up nobody seemed to know what was going on. Yikes. So a guy (manager or owner maybe) took my order again. Imo not a very good look for a newly opened business, but hopefully it doesn't happen again. Food & price was decent tho. read more

First time visiting this place. Went in late night, and ordered some of there taco gobernador that were amazing! I honestly could of just ordered that and been satisfied. Also tried there torta and huarache which were also good. Customer service is excellent! Place is clean. Overall great experience. Will definitely be back for more of those tacos! read more

Found this place by accident was looking for another place and made a wrong turn and ended up here... best mistake we could have made !!!! Place is super clean... If want tacos they have tacos if you want fish they have fish, shrimp and if you want pizza they have that also!!! Place still looks new... the tortillas are hand made!!! I had the tj tacos 2 al pastor and a carne asada taco!!! Man am I stuffed!!! My husband had 2 fish tacos!! He said they were great... we are used to fried fish tacos and usually is crazy about grilled fish but he said it was not fishy at all!!! Warning the sauce on the al pastor tacos is very spicy but delicious!!! Next time we are in town we will be coming back here. read more

Saw this video on Facebook and we were in the area for the day. It's new but man, the food is amazing. We had the pizza Mexicana and the taco gabernador, the gabernador is definitely my favorite. The shrimp, green bell peppers, onions--tit tasted amazing. The pizza was delicious. Not usually into beans but man, I barely even noticed it. After only 1 taco and 1 slice of pizza for each, everyone was full. Bathroom is clean too! Smelled great! Definitely worth it, would recommend to others and will probably stop by here next time. read more

So let me preface this with my love of chilaquiles. I have been to La Espadaña in TJ and La Talavera Azul in Chula Vista Ca. Hands down best chilaquiles and will never be topped!!! Until I came to Sabor Mi Tierra no joke 3 mins from my house. Dayummm if they bottled that green salsa, the world would be a better place. My hubby had Chilaquiles verdes con asada, BOMB! I had the guarache de ceniza con salsa verde BOMB! You guys gotta eat there. read more

The food was amazing and flavorful. The tortillas for their tacos and machete are handmade. The asada and pastor had a great taste. The green salsa for the tacos was amazing I loved the citrus taste to it, it wasn't spicy. The machete is enough for two people it's a huge size portion. Service was fast and efficient. Ambiance was nice they had good music playing in the background and the music wasn't too loud so you were able to have a conversation. Definitely recommend this place. read more

We love Puesto and always enjoy our food, but last night was one for the record books. Scotty took what was already a great date night and made it truly memorable. Not only was he the best server we've had since we started dining at Puesto, but I'd go so far as to say he was one of the best servers I've ever had anywhere. Scotty had a calm, understated demeanor that was part of his charm. He was genuine, attentive, extraordinarily kind, and somehow managed to keep my Diet Coke with lime full the entire evening. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and was always there at just the right moment. Best of all, he laughed at my dad jokes. While the food was outstanding, Scotty made the experience even better. His service elevated an already great meal into an exceptional evening. We will absolutely be requesting Scotty's section every time we visit Puesto Anaheim.

I watched two employees clear tables, throw away some items, but keep the unused onions and uncut lime wedges from customers' plates and take them back into the kitchen to be served again. Even if I didn't use all of the onions or limes, that doesn't mean I didn't touch them. Reusing food that has already been on a customer's table is unsanitary and unacceptable. After seeing that, it made me wonder whether other items, like leftover chips, might also be reused. Whether or not that's the case, what I witnessed was enough to make me lose confidence in their food handling practices. Unfortunately, I won't be returning

However, there's usually free parking in the lot (as long as the nearby power lifting gym doesn't hold a competition, which always results in an overload of cars). The Pros: * Lots of different dishes with more proteins than the standard fare (i.e. lengua, shrimp.) * Customer service is usually very fast, friendly, and knowledgable. * Costs are affordable (unlike other shops that have jacked up their prices) * They offer free chips and salsa if you dine in The Cons: * During this past visit, the salsa bar had lemons instead of limes. * The bathroom meets the bare minimum but could definitely use a remodel (or at least a deep cleaning) The Conclusion: Ponchos Tacos is not perfect, but it's one of my go-to places when I want good street tacos, mulitas, or vampiros at an affordable price.
