Came here to test the waters based on all the great reviews and I'm right behind them! This place rocks. Small hole in the wall market/restaurant. I came on a Saturday at 7 and was sat immediately. There was live music that was good and I enjoyed s pacifico and lime while listening and preparing to order. The waitress was super helpful and although I attempted my order in poor Spanish she was bilingual and made it much easier haha. I ended up ordering three tacos: fajita, steak, and chicken with a side of guacamole. The tacos were great!! Traditional style so smaller but 3 and chips with salsa/guac filled me up plenty! went here sunday for the first time. first thing i noticed is how small things are. the chairs, the table, the dining room, they're all small. i dunno if this place is meant to be more mexican or salvadorean, but they didn't bring out chips and salsa to start off with (which is completely cool). i came here to check out the pupusas, and i can report they're pretty good. i don't think they're as good as my favorite pupuseria, la usuluteca, but still very damn good. first off, they're not as dense as the one at la usuluteca, NOR do they offer loroco (boooo). they are, though, enormous. these things are about as big as the plate they serve them to you on. the cheese on the surface of the pupusas is nice and burnt up, i know i'm not the only person that likes cheese to be a little browned. the cheese did, though, seem to have a lot of water cooked off it and built up at the bottom of the plate. best thing... these mugs are two dollars a piece! so i had a meal for six dollars that i couldn't even finish. and it was a good meal, too. make sure you check this place out, i'll be going again. edit- my friend got some al pastor tacos, and they were the greasiest tacos i've ever seen. caveat ingestor... eric b read more

Best Latin food I have had in Nashville period. If you go here and do not get a pupusa, you are only cheating yourself. My only complaint is that it is kind of hard to find even when using GPS, but, then again, that only adds to the experience I think. read more

Delicious food, great prices! I ordered a steak taco and a pork, cheese, and bean pupusa and boy was it good. I tried to finish the papusa, but it was just too much food to finish after I had already eaten the taco and a bunch of chips with salsa. Pupusa revueltas are Central American comfort food at it's finest. I always get the chiles y cebollas (grilled peppers and onions) with mine. The tostadas are good and the Tortas are the best little sandwiches ever. The tacos are authentic with corn tortillas, onions and cilantro. The ceviche is another good choice and always awesome. This isn't your typical chimichanga, chips and salsa joint. Make Anthony Bourdain proud and try one of their daily specials. This place is not about service, it's all about the food. read more

Walking in its half deli half Restaurante. The ambience is very Central American and I mean even the long table styles. The waitress was nice and to the point. You can see the cook from 90% of the tables and the the bars on the windows in front of the store behind the window make you feel right in East LA. It's actually cool. Lol The customers are very diverse and the place seems clean. The bathroom: as you're about to walk in you see the shoe stains on the wall and door and expect a real disaster as you open the door but no- again actually very well kept and enough modern to wash your hands in peace. Staff: girls in the deli are way into their electronics but the waitress was very nice. Food: excellent. Hot. Tasty and tastes like Americanized Mexican food should taste like: Mexican food. We've been going there for many years and the food is consistently great and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Chicken Burrito Las Americas. It is chock full of good quality and flavorful white meat chicken (with no gristle), well seasoned refried beans, in a large flour tortilla, topped with plenty of white cheese, fresh cilantro, white onions, avocado halves and a tasty verde salsa. I must admit when we first got here we didn't even know for sure if it was a restaurant but based on all the other Yelp reviews we went on inside. It seems very authentic, almost too authentic. The chips were good, salsa decent. My fajitas were excellent. The salsa is sub par, edible (and I ate my share as usual lol) but I've had better salsa. Not meaning to sound so negative because the chicken seemed grade A to me. The young one (11 year old Davin) loved his qezadilla. My Fiancé even loved hers and she's picky. Shi the just turned 8 year old ordered a qezadilla as well but refused to try it lol her vote doesn't count. Altogether it's definitely 4 star. If the salsa was better I could go 5 but come on people that are giving it a 5 this is really not a 5 star restaurant simply because of the ambience, environment, atmosphere whatever! If the restaurant was not part of a Mexican grocery store and the salsa was better this place could truly be a 5 star! Just try it! read more

Excellent! I've been going here for years and it is always delicious. It is small and not fancy, but the people are very nice and the food is flavorful, fresh and delicious. HIDDEN GEM!!! We recently bought a house in the area and were excited for all the different ethnic food nearby. We decided to try Las Americas on New Year's Day after reading reviews. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Very casual dining that is attached to a small market. You have to try the pork & cheese pupusas!!!SO GOOD! We also have tried the beef tacos and carnitas tacos which were delicious. I preferred the beef though :) Gourmet mexican food for cheap! We'll be returning! read more

Just had huevos rancheros. Plate was properly burning hot. HRs were fantastic. Also had a papusa revuelta on the side. Even the "cafe negro sin azucar" was strong and hot. I can't believe it, this was the best breakfast I ever had in Nashville! Everything was perfect. Came back at 5pm on weeknight for enchiladas verdes de pollo and the chicken was very dry, leftover from lunch. Came back on Saturday night for more enchiladas and plate wasn't very hot and neither were the enchiladas, although rice and beans were hot enough. I loved every part of my experience at Las Americas. We're talking authentic Mexican food guys. I have tried just about every tacos they have and they are perfection. Don't be afraid to try the tripe, cheek or tongue...seriously. If you don't like it oh well, it only cost $1.50! The staff is nice and the food came out pretty fast. My husband and I shared 6 tacos, a pupusa, horchata and 2 beers all for around $21.47. I found my new go to taco joint. Happy Chef! read more

I was looking for a Gluten Free restaurant near Nashville. We found this hidden gem off the highway and had a delicious, inexpensive meal. You have to try the Pupusas. First time I have tried one. Super tasty. The place looks intimidating with bars on the windows, but everyone was very nice. They had a musician singing songs as we dined. Get the pupusa. I get the bean and cheese one. It really is enough for a meal, and very reasonable. Though I usually sneak in one taco, and can't finish the pupusa. It's not a fancy place at all, but I am not going there for the decor. It's all about the pupusa. read more
