Sadly, this is not authentic Peruvian food. My family and I are Peruvian and due to living in a state where there is barely any Peruvian food, we were excited to find some while road tripping through GA. We ordered some basic meals such as the ceviche, pollo a la brasa (which they're known for), mariscos saltados, and anticuchos. Unfortunately for us, the power was out when we got there, but couldn't leave to go to another restaurant due to time constraints so we stayed. It was so hot in the restaurant, but you can't fault them for that. Because of this though, they couldn't make some plates and couldn't make fries, which is a staple when eating pollo a la brasa. So the waitress offered to replace us with rice. Reluctantly we said ok, but that rice had no salt in it at all, which was pretty upsetting. Which leads me to the pricing. Y'all, this place is too expensive for what it is. The whole chicken is $15. If you get the fries and salad the price goes up to $30. I noticed the salad is $6, therefore the fries (or in our case the unsalted rice) was $9. That's just ridiculous. Peruvian food is typically more expensive than other cuisines, I will say that, but This wasn't really worth the price tag. Going back to the food, The ceviche was just ok. It didn't have any flavor really. The mariscos saltados were drenched in vinegar. The anticuchos came out kind of raw so it had to be cooked longer. The tallarines verdes it came with was so bland. I had one bite and couldn't eat have a second. The chicken doesn't taste any different than regular rotisserie chicken from the store. It's not just the way you cook pollo a la brasa that's unique, it's also the different flavors. The huacatay sauce was pretty good though. I will say that the staff was very kind, though (which is why I gave an extra star), except for one lady who started sweeping next to us while we were eating causing dust to come up and my father politely told her if she could not sweep right next to us and she responding in a rude manner. That made me upset and ruined my appetite. I really wish I would have seen that those who left reviews weren't really Peruvian because then I would have looked for another place. I think the owners have the right idea , but the flavors need to be developed further. read more

The chicken here is SOOOOO good. I am an absolute carnivore but chicken is my least favorite meat. But this is now one of my favorite places to get chicken. I will be going here regularly. They have a sit down restaurant and a take out area/window. The chicken is so flavorful and juicy and the skin in crispy. That is the best part! The skin is crispy. It's like a fried chicken outside and a grilled chicken inside. PERFECT! The service was very good as well. Our waitress gave just the right amount of attention and service. She was knowledgable about the menu and wines and was clearly a professional. I can't say enough about here. A must try if you are in the area. It's not fancy. Very casual. There were kids. I have been a big fan of Las Brasas since they started as a little to-go operation in Decatur years ago. I probably got Las Brasas' wonderful chicken to go every week. Over the years, as they expanded, I turned numerous people onto Las Brasas and sent a lot of business their way. And we go at least once a month. Never again. Last night my husband and I were there and were treated shoddily by the staff. A large group squeezed in ahead of us. I explained to the waitress that we actually were first. But never mind. It took forever to get menus, and I had to go to the bar and actually bring the drinks back to the table myself. (At that point the waitress was chatting with another staff member.) I always get my favorite dish with all dark meat, but after a long delay I was told I couldn't have that last night as the cooks had "thrown it all together." The table of 10, who was technically behind us, had their food before we even resolved my order. Finally, 50 minutes into this ordeal and still without food, we left for another restaurant. The topper of all this was I had told the waitress we were celebrating a special occasion (the end of my chemotherapy). She had several opportunities to make it right and chose not to. This place is fantastic! Service was great. Our server, Tyler, was extremely polite and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. Food is wonderful. So delicious. The chicken, the house speciality, was moist and flavorful. The rice and pintos were very tasty and well seasoned. The sauces are to die for. My wife had the stir fried filet, and it was fabulous. Excellent alcohol selection. I will most certainly be going back, and highly recommend this restaurant. The decor is simple but effective. I went in for a late lunch. Ordered the 1/4 chicken. Waitress asked if I wanted white or dark meat. White. Then she tells me they only have 1 order left and the customer who'd entered right behind me wanted the same thing, so did I want it or did I want to order something else? Awkward!! I opted to leave. The waitress (who had created this embarrassing situation) didn't seem to care that an unhappy customer was leaving. Wait. What? A CHICKEN SPECIALTY RESTAURANT THAT RUNS OUT OF CHICKEN?! I discovered this place today and it was quite good. Had the Lomo Saltado - sautéed beef filet mignon tossed with fries, tomato, red onion, aji panca pepper purée and soy sauce. Finished with pisco and served over white rice. Different and delightful. They make a terrific sangria that is not too sweet. Also, tried the Traditional Pisco Sour made with Peruvian brandy and very tart...interesting. I want to go back and try the chicken and the ceviche. This was my first time visiting Las Brasas since they moved into their new facility. A lot has changed from what used to be a small, take-out window with great food and not much else. The ambience in the new space is great. The service scores high marks in my book. The food is still great. We had the Pollo a La Brasa, the Lomo Saltada, the yucca fries and the asparagus. They all were delicious and the portions are generous. I wish the owners the best and hope they keep serving the Peruvian dishes that Decatur has grown to love! read more

My sister and I had heard about this place in Decatur from my husband. We, as proud Peruvians, went to check it out. There aren't many good Peruvian restaurants in Atlanta so we were hoping this would be a good experience. We went to Las Brasas and as we walked in we could smell the rotisserie chicken (pollo a la brasa). It totally took us back to Lima. We were very excited! We ordered the chicken, lomo saltado (sautéed beef with rice and fries), anticuchos (beef heart-grilled) and to drink we ordered chicha morada (a delicious purple drink made from Peruvian purple corn. It is sweet and refreshing). We were pleasantly surprised and excited to have finally found a place that makes Peruvian food like they should. No jalapenos on anything!!! The flavors were on spot. We will definitely be back. We have already got our father ready to go try it out. He is a hard one to impress since he is a chef. I recommend this restaurant to everyone! read more

Where do I start, my wife is from Peru and I am use to the flavors of Peru and I most say this place is not even close. The ceviche had no flavor, They call themselves a Peruvian rotisserie not even closed, the chicken no taste what so ever, you counld't even taste the spices the way it should in your typical Peruvian rotisseries. They were not organize and the prices and portions did not match, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I do not know what people is talking about but I do not think you understand food like I do as a trained chef. read more

No Way to Treat Frequent Customers. Placed a group order with my co-workers of a favorite menu item, one we order frequently whether dining in or for pick up. Today's order was not out of the ordinary. After receiving our lunch items we all complained of the food tasting differently than before. In fact, we thought perhaps there was a different cook on staff. Our favorite items were extremely salty and not flavored as it usually taste. Unable to take another bite, we agreed to contact the restaurant to inform them of the food. Politely speaking with a representative by phone, we were unsure of the outcome. The restaurant representative asked to bring back the food even though we had eaten from it. Once back at the restaurant, the manager spoke with the cook who prepared the food. The cook came out and tasted the food we had eaten, threw the spoon on the counter and said the food tasted fine, there was nothing wrong with it. He acted as if he was offended and this was done in front of other customers waiting. I am shocked and disgusted at the service received here. There was no apology for the rude behavior and unreasonable service given by the Las Brasas's staff. If the cook can taste the food that was eaten by someone else and with the same utensil, what else would he do when preparing food items where customers cannot see? read more
