You can see the manager completely discounted the person who presented herself as the manager when we asked to speak to someone. The attitude towards us was ABSOLUTELY to do with us being a white family. She did everything but say get the heck out in her attempt to speak over us and make us look like the problem. My family with never spend another dime at this place and we will discourage everyone we know from dining here. My family has been coming here since it opened and through the years we have had good experiences and bad. Tonight by far was the worst experience we have ever had. We were enjoying ourselves as the night was coming to a close, we noticed they were cleaning for closing so our party was finishing the last of the drinks and we started cleaning up the table to help the waitress which was picking up around us. At that point, the waitress from the next table came over and told us we had to leave because they were closed and snatched the drink out of my husband's hand. He told her he was just finishing it but she stated we needed to leave because they had to clean. The table was already cleared except the 3 drinks our party was finishing. I told our waitress what happened and she apologized but then the other waitress came back and my mom told her she should not act that way with customers. The waitress told her, "lady you should just leave." And her body language was that of someone ready for a confrontation. We were walking towards the front of the restaurant and seeing this, I returned and went to the gentleman in red shirt I assumed was one of the managers. I explained what happened and he apologized but this whole situation should not have happened. I am completely embarrassed as my in-laws are visiting from another country and we took them there as we always have a good time. It makes me hesitant to take other people there. read more

My friend was craving Mexican food, and since we were in the area, we thought we give this place a try. Plus another friend of mine has been here before, so I assumed it be good. We came here for a late lunch on Sunday, and surprisingly this place was packed so there was a bit of a wait time. After we were seated, we were greeted by our server who took our drink and food order. We asked our server if the parrillada costenda (snapper, tilapia, lobster, jumbo breaded shrimp, bacon wrapped shrimp, steak & chicken) platter would be enough for the 6 of us, but she said its good for a group of 5, so we decided to order some other dishes just incase. We ordered a dozen oysters, shrimp empanada appetizer and two orders of fish tacos (each order comes with 3). When our HUGE platter came out, we all looked at each other and thought the same thing - this platter is big enough to feed all of us. We ordered way too much food and took home a lot of left overs. The oysters weren't fresh and the fish tacos were just alright. Everything else was ok. I think the best thing we ate were the empanadas and the free crackers and some kind of fish salad (?) that came with it. I don't think I'll be coming back here. There wasn't anything special or memorable about the place. Plus they seemed a bit overpriced and would rather spend my money somewhere else. read more

This place is down the street from me and I always see a ton of cars there. I brought people with me that were visiting for some drinks and good food. We had 3 kids with us as well. First, the menus he handed us were STICKY and just disgusting to touch. My son opened up one page and there was a chunk of food in. We ordered appetizers to get a taste of how the rest of this dining experience was going to be. We got the kids fries so they could munch on something. Fries were cold but somehow the waiter tells us to be careful because they are fresh and hot -- they were indeed cold. Appetizers were okay. After that quick 20 minute experience we decided to pay the bill and find somewhere else to eat. I am a tad bit disappointed because I was expecting so much more. Oh well. read more

The food was great everything was tasty. My biggest issue was the service at the bar, it was terrible almost as if it was racially motivated and coming from working in the restaurant industry for over 10 years that alone would make me not want to come back. I'm not sure what it was but it was like BOTH bartenders where avoiding us at all cost. I got pasta del chef and on the menu it does not say that it has pork sausage so when it came out I was a little confused and asked the bartender it took her around ten minutes to even confirm. When I explained to her that I haven't eaten pork in over tens years she gave me an awkward glance, I asked for a new pasta and it took around 15 mins to get it back which was no issue after my new pasta was brought to me the bartender did not come to check or ask how the food was until we called her over for boxes which was in itself a hassle. Over all the food was good but the way the bartenders treated us was absolutely unacceptable. If I ever decide to eat here again it will strictly be carry out this will be my first and last time dining inside this restaurant. read more

I see why there are so many 5 star reviews, this place is exceptional! The prices are pretty steep, but the food portions commensurate with the prices. The appetizer was massive and it was called the Camarones Cucaracha which is whole boiled shrimp. It was served in a slightly spicy sauce with red onions, cucumbers, & tomatoes. Delicious! I ordered the steak, shrimp, sausage, chicken, & ribs fajita. I could barely put a dent in my plate before I was stuffed. Very good chargrill flavor, but I wasn't a fan of the sausage. My husband ordered the Langosta En Crema De Hongos which is lobster smothered with shrimp, octopus, and oysters in a mushroom cream sauce. He loved it and he had a ton to take home. The presentation was fabulous! Our waiter was fantastic and his name was Michael like Michael Jackson except he couldn't dance :-) That's the way he presented himself. First timers my group and I went on a Tuesday when they have a DJ playing at night. We were a group of 20 people and sat down in the area where people dances when I made my reservation we never were told it was a requirement to buy a bottle to reserve that area, we ordered huge plates of seafood that costed much more than a single bottle for sure pitchers and extra expenses in the place, but the server came up saying we still needed to buy a bottle after all the expenses we have had cuz nobody mentioned to me when I booked I had to do that to keep the table. This is why my 3 stars less. It's a bit unfair they try to take as much advantage of the situation they can when we were not told that even before giving us the table. One of my friends to avoid any issues ordered one. When we received the bottle and the food that we asked him how big it was he said "it's good for 1 person to eat" that was a miscommunication and false advertisement cuz the plate costed $58 and it's cuz is meant to feed 3 people from it honestly I was appalled how could he said that probably just to boost his sales cuz it's was obvious how careless he was when we had 4 huge plates on our table. The worst part is as soon as we get the food they turned off the lights without even asked us if we were ok with it. We had to try to eat in the darkness who does that? That was disrespectful and very inconsiderate for what we spent. To the business owner or leadership members make sure the communication is clear at the moment of reserve a table and also confirm reservations as well to improve the quality of the experience to prevent doubts and misunderstandings, also try to keep up with the suggestions and advices to the guests from the attendants is not just to sell all u can is also to know how much someone can take and be realistic with the portions of food from each plate nobody likes a lier as an attendant bringing something that won't be delightful to have. In town for business and decided to try something new. I went with recommendation from waiter. I had the Filete Relleno - Tilapia stuffed with Octopus, Shrimp, Crab & Peppers covered with Cheese. It also came with both Breadstick, Rice and Fries. The Tilapia itself was very good as well as the Shrimp & Crab (artificial). The Octopus was ok but there was such a disproportionate amount of it that I was slightly put off. The breadstick & fries seemed out of place. The rice had a different taste than I was expecting (typical Mexican restaurant rice). Nothing was bad but just off enough that I certainly would not order this dish again. The best part of the meal was the complimentary appetizer (I think some type of ceviche). The night I was there, a mariachi band was playing and there were several birthday or other special events. I'm not sure if that is typical but it was certainly louder than expected. Not so much it would have been off-putting unless you had in mind a more conversational dinner. read more

We ordered something else, but we got lobster stuffed with shrimp, octopus, mushrooms and artificial crab meat, which we did not care for, still a lot of awesome seafood, rice, French fries and salad, guess waitress misunderstood. Loved the food and margaritas here! My husband and I ordered the crab legs and shrimp plate, which was a little over $80, but enough for us to share. Whatever sauce they use for the crab legs (we chose spicy ) was the best part. The strawberry margarita was also super delicious. As soon as you walk up to this place, it's like a little piece of Miami or Mexico was transplanted onto Pleasant Hill. I've been wanting to try this place for a while! I've been on a ceviche kick. And my latin friend who I like to go to Latin places with for some reason doesn't get excited about Mexican food, but I somehow convinced him to come here with me and actually I think I converted him from a Peruvian Ceviche person to a Mexican Ceviche person. Mexican ceviche has a little spicy kick. There was a 30 minute wait on a Sunday night, I guess because there was a soccer match on between Guadalajara and "The Americas" which I don't even know who that team is. As soon as we sat down they had some kind of awesome crab dip with tostada shells for us which is pretty awesome. This place seems like a good place to get drinks. In addition to the mexican shrimp ceviche, we got a fried tilapia plate that came with rice, bread, some salad. It was all really good. They have pretty big portions so definitely share! They had live music outside and a bouncy slide for kids. They have a little area with sand too so its interesting how the whole feel of the place is as if you're on a Mexican island. I do have to warn that it is pretty loud and festive here, so not a get-to-know-someone and talk place. read more

I was really excited to come here when I saw it wasn't your typical Mexican restaurant. Their website even claims that they're known for the best Mexican Seafood in Atlanta. When we walked in, it was packed! I noticed we were the only non-Hispanic customers in the restaurant. I thought that was cool, because that's usually a good sign of authenticity. We were greeted and seated immediately. They have TV's everywhere, a huge bar, and the décor is really nice throughout the whole restaurant. Another interesting thing is the mariachi band that goes around and plays. But if they're anywhere near you, you can't really hold a conversation because of how loud the music is... so, just listen and enjoy. They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu. All the drinks were kind of pricey, so I didn't order one. We did end up getting a large horchata ($4.50)... and when they say large, they mean large! The glass was huge! I thought it was just okay, though. I thought it was neat how instead of the typical chips and salsa served at most mexican restaurants, they bring you marlin ceviche, chopped onions and chopped tomatoes with tortillas & crackers. A REALLY spicy habanero sauce comes with it, too. I wouldn't pay for this, but it was cool since it was free. What we ordered: -Shrimp & Cheese Empanadas Appetizer ($6.99) - You get 4 empanadas for $6.99, and they come topped with avocado slices. They're served with a spicy cilantro vinegar sauce. Not bad, but not great. -Filete Relleno ($18.99)- There is A LOT of food in this entrée. You could easily share it with another person. It comes with tilapia topped with octopus, shrimp, crab, mushrooms, peppers, and cheese & sides of rice, french fries, and a couple pieces of bread. The fish was breaded, so all of the toppings on top of it made it really soggy. I didn't love it. The toppings were pretty good, though. I also really liked the rice, it was very flavorful! French fries and bread were good, too. Overall, I'm glad I checked this place out. It was a neat experience, but I don't see myself coming back. read more

Seafoods galore! Its everything you need if youre craving some overload of seafood. Each dish is designed to make you stuffed with seafoody goodness, and also fries. No kidding, they give you a BUNCH of fries. Not the lame fries, but the fries w actual seasoning! Ive been here a number of time and not once did I leave feeling like there wasnt enough food. Sure, the prices are steep,, but not if you see the size of your dish!! They are truly humungous. We had the stuffed lobster special on their specials menu. It says market price but we paid 48$ for it. It comes with a halved whole lobster stuffed (I mean STUFFED) with a seafood mix consisting of shrimps, mini scallop, imitation crab, octopus, and i think one more thing but I cant remember. All of this was served in a dish the size of a roasting pan smothered in a creamy sauce. Topped with some lettuce and a mound of delicious fries and 2 breadsticks. My personal favorite is any dish that ends with 'a la diabla'. That diabla sauce is to die for. This time we had it smothered on shrimp *seafoodgasm* but also good on fried snapper. The only reason I took off one star is that its annoyingly loud in there with all the serenading mariachi bands and musicians literally blasting your ears off right next to you as you eat. My poor hubby had the drummer in the aisle right behind his seat. Another factor in removing a star was that they arent very accomodating to people who dont speak spanish. Our drink order kept getting mixed up because our waitress did not speak an ounce of english, and she looked at me funny when I asked for water, till I gave in and said 'agua'. We used yelp's free dessert coupon. And the waitress got it approved from her manager, but she didnt know what the coupon was.. lol she brought us our checks and we google translated her and told her we get a free dessert, which then she understood and got us a cheesecake. read more
