Soooo what got me in was the "$5 OOF" sign out front. Made me and my brother chuckle so we gave it a whirl. Both of us, our first time in there. Ehhh.... wasn't busy on a Monday afternoon around lunch time but service was not the greatest. They were all over us in the beginning then they started disappearing and it felt like they forgot about us. Here's the biggest downer: Their white sauce is not good. Something tastes off about it. We ordered the mixed ceviche and chicken fajitas. It was all pretty meh. The ceviche was all cooked shrimp and fish, and was minced looking like salsa. It also didn't taste that great. First time at a Las Palmas restaurant, and honestly I can say for a chain restaurant I was definitely impressed. The location I visited was a little confusing to get to, its not part of the mall but it's situated in between the rear of Lynnhaven Mall and in front of the ticket counter of the AMC movie theater. Parking is shared with the mall & the movies, and is located on either sides of the restaurant but on a weekend on night can get packed. The staff was very friendly, I went on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too packed, which is definitely a good thing. Started off with drinks, (Mango/Peach frozen margarita), which didn't take too long to make. The menu is very diverse, lots of options to choose from, chicken, pork, seafood, etc. As you are seated you are greeted with chips & salsa (the chips were nice & hot), the server was very friendly, very attentive, ensured we had refills at all times, ensure the meal was good, and answered any questions we had about the menu. Within 15 minutes of ordering our food arrived to the table, steaming hot, and good portions. I ordered the Mexico City Taco platter which consisted of three soft tacos (steak, chicken, carnitas), rice, beans and guacamole. I opted for the al pastor instead of steak, and kept the chicken, and carnitas. The tacos overall was okay, they weren't bad, just pretty average tacos in taste, but I tried the fajitas which also were really tasty. Overall, service was excellent, prices were reasonable, diverse menu choices, convenient location, and decent food. I will definitely return to this location. read more

This is what I've been looking for in a Mexican place! I've lived in San Diego, the food here is for real. The staff is 100% Mexicana, and we came here on a whim because Maggie McFly's was packed. We had margaritas and fruity pina coladas. Drinks were amazing, our waitress was super pretty and nice, which is only half sexist, but in an indirect and not so sexist manner. She was a great waitress based on merit alone and not her prettiness. They do the happy birthday song which is honestly fun and festive, please don't be scared, this is a taste of Mexico and you gotta love it. Because we were there for drinks and dessert, I had to try the chorizo tacos to go and can't wait to dive in (I'm too full from our Korean dinner-a different review-and Mexican dessert) but they packed in chips, sauce, rice and beans, along with the tacos, magnifico!! Service was good but the margaritas were weak :( My friend ended up with the burrito California, cleaned his plate. I ordered Pollo Yucatán, it was average. They opened their doors on December 15th and they are in a prime locstion - they should make it big! One day I need to try their Margaritas - employees were talking about how great and fresh they are. As for food.... They brought the chips and salsa and it was good. Didn't bring alot of salsa .... Hardly any so we had to request more. We all got the lunch special. Speaking of the lunch special, it's pretty awesome because the specials every day even on the weekends. Food was good (rice and beans were a bit bland and needed some salt, easy fix.) Fajitas had a flavorful marinade (I've tasted better ... But Im from California so that's not really fair ... My bar has been set high! I haven't found anyplace in the south that hits the mark as good as California, when it comes to Mex good!) I will say it's nice to have some ethnic Mex food in Virginia that isn't Aztec. Food was priced fairly. Service was good. Friendly staff, we had 4 different men wait on us, due to how friendly they were. We all kept talking. One was pulling up pictures of the food off his phone to show us. Very nice guys. We went to a movie and stumbled across this place adjacent to the theater. My yen for Tex/Mex was not satisfied by the place I ate at yesterday, so I tried again. Success! I had the Carne Asada meal. The steak is tasty and tender plus there was plenty of it for $12.99. I didn't expect a salad also. I took half of the meal home and it was tastier the next day. The salad drooped some but that's expected from a leftover salad. I ate the leftovers for lunch and still had plenty of steak. Give it a try. By far the best Mexican restaurant I've found in the area. A party of 6 was seated right away on a fairly busy Wednesday night (New Years day). We started with guacamole made at the table. Food was out quickly after we ordered it, very hot and fresh. The waitress, Elena, was helpful and attentive. I had a mojito which was amazing. We ended the meal with a warm and gooey cake. So good. Stopped in here with a friend after doing some shopping at the mall. The place was a nice size & was clean. The table we were seated at was very wobbly and moved constantly. The server was very attentive and the food arrived quickly. They have a very large menu so there is a lot to pick from. I got the shrimp fajitas and my friend got the shrimp quesadilla. The fajitas were okay. Some of the veggies were burnt from the high heat from the skillet & there was a lot of oil used but they were still okay. The prices are also not bad on the items. Came for lunch around 1245, and waited over an hour for our meals, which ultimately came out with wrong orders and plates that were hotter than the meals they were holding. Very disappointed in the service and meal (ie be prepared for an especially small lunch portion if you order off the lunch menu). The coup de gras was then assuring us that the incorrect order would be comp'd and having to speak with the manager upon leaving when the charge was still in the bill at the end. You would likely get better service and food from the food court inside the mall, and suggest avoiding this place if you can. Husband and I went here for a late lunch/early dinner on a Friday afternoon. We just really wanted appetizers. So I ordered a half order of nachos and my husband ordered chicken wings.. This is the new location at Lynnhaven mall who's done an amazing job on their renovation by the way. I tried this location last night after a movie and they didn't disappoint. I ordered the steak tacos with rice and beans all delicious. My only knock was that the waiter was bit hyper and wasn't listening much. He wasn't clear on the menus or specials. The princess Anne location service is better in my opinion but you will get all the same great quality of food. The margaritas are always good here, they do not shy on the tequila. I don't understand how you don't have specials on Taco Tuesday, that is quite baffling to me. Nonetheless this place is great and the service is quick and seeming-less. Came in for dinner Friday night. We sat down at a small booth. We ordered 2 waters, an orange crush, margarita and steak fajitas for 2. Our drinks were super strong- no complaints here! So taco shells that look and taste like the ones from a store box don't cut it which is often the case in VA. The taco meat tasted good but there wasn't much of it.
