    Pork Cutlet Half & Half
    Sarah Y.

Solid Korean styled donkatsu! Got their half and half sauce (regular and spicy), as well as their buckwheat cold noodles. Solid Korean styled sauce and overall solid experience. They give soup before the food. For larger parties, need majority of party present to be seated. Order through iPad on each table. There's a small parking lot with limited spots; may need to street park.

Dine LA deal for $25 is a good deal. Giant cutlet, jumbo shrimp, pasta, and etc. Flavors were solid. Quality was good. Overall would recommend eating here.

I just love Lasung House! It's a great option when I want to be guaranteed a walk-in table and a delicious meal with leftovers. They have a small parking lot that is a bit hard to maneuver but having a tiny lot in Koreatown is always helpful. Staff is always so nice & attentive here, on top of everything. I've been here a few times now and have loved everything I've tried. I love that they start you with Korean cream soup. It's so simple and one of my favorite things. The Rose Pork Cutlet ($23 , add cheese for $2 more) is quite spicy but in a good way if you can handle heat. My personal favorite item though to order is the Fish Cutlet ($20). Like with all the portions here, it's huge providing tons of leftovers. The taste is just perfect, crisp on the outside with a flavorful and plump interior. Very solid dishes all around at Lasung House that keep me coming back. Their Sikhye Slush ($6) is a nice meal finisher! One small note, their hours say they are open until 930pm but we once went in at 855pm and they wouldn't seat us. So~~~~closing times don't seem to correspond to last seating times.

Came for the Dine LA deal and it was lots of food for $25 per person! Good amount of space in the restaurant and was seated quickly at 3 pm. The deal includes a creamy soup. A refreshing Shikhye drink that is not too sweet. The spicy rose spaghetti was creamy but has a strong kick. Beware if you are not used to spicy. The crispy pork cutlet was thin and crispy but a bit hard and dry. The curry sauce was very tasty and one of my favorite. Option to get that spicy as well. The chicken cutlet was better and wasn't too dry. Great deal but have had better katsu before. The curry, I would come back to. Got lucky with street parking here.

What an absolute treat!!! I've already planned to come back again hahaha. My friend and I decided to come and try their dine-la menu for 25$ and we left with our bellies and hearts full. Some of these restaurants like to skimp out and serve half portions or even less during dine la but for LaSung House this couldn't be further from that. For 25$ you get to choose between a large portion of pork or chicken cutlet with rice, salad, and macaroni on the side. It doesn't stop there....you also get to choose between spicy noodles or spicy rose pasta. But wait...there's more! You also can pick between two of their sweet rice drinks and also served with a complementary soup + banchan. I mean can you even believe it?!?! In this day and economy???? Furthermore everything was absolutely DELICIOUS. The pork cutlet came out so quick and was sooooo crunchy and moist. Goodness!! Pairing that with the curry sauce I was almost brought to tears at how much flavor was going on. The rose pasta was simply delicious and delivered such a nice kick!!! Truly spicy which I adored. The cold noodles did not disappoint as well but I did prefer the rose pasta. The cool myself down, the refreshing rice drink was heaven in my mouth along with the creamy soup. Overall we were absolutely satisfied and stuffed!! I can't wait to come back again. There's also a little parking space right next to the establishment. Final Verdict: Porkfection!!!! ;)

Lasung House is one of those spots that surprises you in the best way. The pork cutlet is so good: perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and clearly made with care. The rose pork cutlet is a standout too, rich, creamy, and perfectly spicy without overpowering the dish. And don't sleep on the curry sauce... it's absolutely awesome, deep, savory, and ties everything together beautifully. If you're craving comfort food with bold flavors and generous portions, this place delivers. I came for tofu house vibes and left thinking about that pork cutlet. Definitely coming back. Service was great too!

This place has been on my try list for a while and my partner & I were sooooo happy and satisfied finally trying it!! The cutlet is indeed HUGE. definitely share between at least two people (although probably opt to buy an extra rice!) We ordered the pork cutlet (with shrimp) with the curry sauce on top and the mozzarella. My partner says the mozzarella is a must, super yummy, and I agree (but the cheese felt like a lot and super heavy for me at some points so maybe next time i'd go with a non cheese lover so i don't have to share a mozarella topped one). The pairing of the sauce and cheese on top of the cutlet paired together really well, and I feel like it was well cooked and yummy. Also, they torch the mozzarella on top which is fun! The shrimp was also well cooked -- glistening and juicy on the inside. It came with its own tartar sauce on top as well! The cream pasta with seafood was yummy, but not a show stopper to me if i'm honest. Maybe i'll order it again, idk, but i'm definitely coming back for the katsu. So delicious! Ordering off the tablet was super efficient, and the staff was kind. Definitely adding to my faves in ktown. :)

This place has the biggest cutlet in town!!!! I came across this restaurant online, and people were raving about its gigantic cutlets. As a foodie, I decided to check it out myself and make my own judgment. It did not disappoint! The chicken cutlet was about the size of two palms, and the pork cutlet was even bigger. OMG! I definitely couldn't finish either one. The cutlet was crunchy, and the meat was tender. Loved it--definitely a signature dish. I also tried the seafood pasta, and to be honest, the seafood was on the stingy side. There were only about six pieces, and I don't think it offers the best value--especially since one of the mussels had only the shell, with no meat inside. The ragù pasta had a slight kick to it, which added some nice flavor. It's still enjoyable even if you can't handle spicy food. Did I mention the corn soup that came before the entrée? It's the bomb! I'm addicted to this creamy soup. I would totally order a big bowl of it and eat it as a meal on its own. Don't forget to try their rice punch as a dessert drink. The regular rice punch is sweeter, while the pumpkin rice punch was a bit bland in comparison. The staff here was friendly, and parking was easy since they have their own parking lot. I would definitely come back for the corn soup and those gigantic cutlets.

Korean comfort food as advertised! But the cool thing is that the comfort food they offer is pretty much universal. Who wouldn't want a beautiful giant piece of crispy boneless chicken with nice fluffy steaming white rice?! The Fried Shrimp works with the rice too. You could use the curry sauce or not, but it just adds to the warmth in your tummy and chest when you eat a bite full with a little bit of everything. The potato soup is delicious and filling! Really, if you wanted a light lunch, the soup will do all by itself. There was no line to get in and we were seated at an empty table right away. You put your order in the monitor set right there on your own table. They offer frozen versions of the breaded meats. I doubt my frying skills will be as good as theirs, but if you want to have back up food in your freezer in case of an emergency, they have it available!

I love this place!! If you are looking for a yummy, affordable, and filling meal, this is the perfect spot! La Sung has a very chill atmosphere, and I often crave it after coming home from a long trip/when I want something comforting. The portions are huge, in fact I think they have gotten bigger since my first visit. My boyfriend and I always split the pork cutlet with curry sauce on the side. The meal comes with rice, slaw, and Mac salad. Side dishes (free) include pickled radish, soup, kimchi, and onions with jalapeño. You order from a kiosk but the staff is very friendly. Love this place!!! Please try if you are in the area.

Super simple dishes yet packed with so much flavor! Lasung House (not to be confused with Lasung Tofu) specializes in chicken and port cutlets. As seen in the pictures, they are absolutely huge and can definitely feed two people. I came with a friend for lunch on Saturday and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was actually full and we got the last remaining table. We ordered the original pork cutlet with cheese and a spicy cold buckwheat noodle dish. We thought that these two dishes paired really well with each other, since the tonkatsu feels a lot heavier. I was super happy with the dishes we got and they were both absolutely delicious and filling. They have a new rosé menu too that I actually really wanna try next time! The decor of the restaurant is minimalist with decorations and pictures of LA. Overall, good vibes and good service. As a minor side note, they had an option on the ordering tablet to scan a QR code to place an order for Rok matcha in advance but the QR codes don't seem to be working! (edit - it's working!!)

    Alisa B.

I got the Cheese Pork Cutlet! The portion is SO HUGE. It is definitely more than enough to share between two people. We ordered via tablet and the waiter kindly brought the food + torched the cheese table side for us! The katsu itself is a light crispiness with minimal batter, but WOW! They do put a lot of sauce. It's a sweet and tangy katsu sauce, which I found very satisfying. But after a while, the sauce did cause the katsu to get a little soggy. If you eat slow, you may want the sauce on the side! I also loved the complimentary cream soup! :D

The ambiance was lovely and perfect for a date night. The dining room felt dark, intimate, and cozy, and I especially loved the little candle on the table. It was a small touch, but it made the experience feel warm and special. We ordered the perilla oil noodle, scallop pancake, pork jowl, and hwaechae milk to share. The perilla oil noodle had a strong perilla aroma which I loved, but beyond that it didn't really taste like much. It wasn't bad but it's probably the one dish I'd skip next time. The scallop pancake was great. It was crispy, packed with scallops, and the dipping sauce complemented it really well. The pork jowl was easily our favorite dish of the night. It was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with all of the accompanying condiments. Every bite felt balanced and well thought out. The hwaechae milk was also delicious and refreshing. It was a fun drink to share and a nice contrast to the richer dishes. While the food was good overall, the portions felt pretty small for the price point. Everything tasted good but it was hard not to notice how quickly the dishes disappeared given what we paid. Maybe it was just the specific dishes we ordered but considering Danbi is on the Michelin Guide, I was expecting bolder and more memorable flavors. Korean cuisine is known for being vibrant and packed with flavor so I left feeling a little underwhelmed. Nothing we had was bad but aside from the pork jowl there wasn't a dish that really wowed me. To end the meal, the staff brought us a yuzu popsicle topped with a birthday candle, which ended up being my favorite part of the entire night. The popsicle was perfectly tangy, refreshing, and honestly more memorable than any of the dishes we ordered. It made the celebration feel thoughtful without being over the top. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was attentive, and it was a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion even though it was a bit overhyped given the small portions, high prices, and flavors that didn't quite live up to my expectations. I'd still come back to try the steak tartare, uni bibimbap, and the zabuton!

In fact, we regularly brought visitors here. They raved about how good the spare ribs were and even insisted that their last meal before LA should be at Ham Ji Park.  Here's my belated review of what I consider the best spare ribs in LA. From the moment the Korean-style spare ribs arrived at the table, it was clear this was a dish worth savoring. Each rib bore a beautifully charred exterior--deeply caramelized without a hint of bitterness--offering that irresistible smoky aroma the moment it was placed before us. The glaze was nothing short of spectacular. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it clung to the meat with a glossy sheen that promised flavor in every bite. There was just enough heat to make your taste buds sit up and pay attention, but it never overwhelmed the deeper, richer notes of the sweet components. But what truly set these ribs apart was the texture. Beneath the charred surface lay meat so tender it practically fell off the bone with the gentlest tug of a fork. Each bite was juicy and succulent, the result of careful cooking and a respect for quality ingredients. Ham Ji Park, you will be missed. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
