Had a wonderful omelette, breakfast with rye toast, and fried potatoes waitress the excellent job serving me. Coffee was great and they even offer our military discount can't beat that.

Chocolate chip pancakes with bacon and eggs
Ashlee D.

Came with a party of 8 on a Sunday morning and they got a table ready for us right away. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt. Too many breakfast items ordered to list them all but they included eggs, chocolate chip pancakes, Bloody Mary, hash, eggs Benedict and monte cristo to name a few and everyone was happy with their food. The decor is dated like early 90's but most diners are. Would definitely recommend.

Service is fast, food is hot and fresh. It's a very reliable diner. Try the soups they are made in house.

The sausage was big plump and yummy and the serving is two but that's enough to share! The toast was perfect! How do they do this?!?! If I lived here this would be my jams! The potatoes (home fries were excellent . The service was excellent too. Melissa C was awesome! Our coffee and water never ran dry. She took our order with care and attention to detail! They have clean accessible bathrooms with changing tables. Family friendly . High chairs available too! Most clients seem like regulars happy to return! They have a great selection for dessert and a full bar! You don't have to go to Vegas to get a Long Island ice tea, just go to breakfast! I love it! Happy to visit! We all left satisfied and ready for the day! Good diner coffee too!

Glad they replied, though belatedly. We will go back and cross fingers that this was a one off situation. January 1st- I sent the following email Dinertime with NO response. Things can happen at any business...but not acknowledging in any manner that we were served basically raw shrimp is the reason why we are posting this. Businesses that care about their customers at least recognize when there is a problem and try to make it better: Hello, we are customers who have been coming to the Diner Time restaurant since you opened. We have come as a couple, we have brought or met friends, and we bring family. Overall, we've been satisfied with our visits. The food and service have been reliably good/decent. Tonight, however, was a disappointment. We recognize that very few restaurants were open today, New Year's Day. As a result, your dining room was very busy. Despite that, our server was very pleasant and took good care of us. The problem? Unfortunately, it seems that the kitchen was rushing to get all the orders taken care of. My lasagna arrived, barely warm.... As if they didn't leave it in the oven or whatever heating device long enough. Tasted good, but I decided it would taste much better if I took it home and heated it up properly. So most of that came home with us. More importantly, my husband got the Fried Seafood platter. The fried fish and clams were good, the crab cake mushy and tasteless. The coconut shrimp was crispy and brown on the outside, but the shrimp inside was undercooked. Translucent and almost slimy. Both of us tried a different one of the 3 shrimps and both weren't cooked. We packed up leftovers (leaving the shrimp) and ordered dessert (very good red velvet cake). When our server brought us dessert, we did inform her of the cold lasagna and undercooked shrimp and asked that she inform the kitchen. Shortly after we got home, both of us got sick to our stomach, husband with very bad diarrhea. Couple of thoughts... when we mentioned the problem, it would have been appreciated if someone.. ie the manager on duty or one of the kitchen staff apologized and perhaps comped the dessert or something. It would also have been helpful to hear that care would be taken to prevent this in the future... ie especially undercooked seafood. We do appreciate you being open on the holiday but hope that you can avoid negative problems like this happening again, especially related to food safety. Sincerely, R Rosette Food: 1/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 Noise level

What a beautiful restaurant!…read more Did you ever have a long day and want to drink a big glass of red wine with dinner? The Scarlet Knife put a check in all the boxes. I walked in with no reservations. I noticed the space is very large with multiple dining rooms. I'm tired, I asked for a table close to the open kitchen. Once seated, I'm given a large, leather menu. There are lots of great entree choices but after I review all the selections, I'm going with the SK Bistro Burger. The entree also has a wine pairing suggestion, a Cabernet Sauvignon. It's like they read my mind, I'm sold! I'm starting to read about the restaurant, they have a large wine cellar and was recognized by Wine Spectator with an award for excellence. My bistro burger arrives, I can see this is a well crafted burger. From the pretzel bun to the thick burger patty, Scarlet Knife served me a great meal that I would typically order at The Capital Grill. My only issue, the onion straws were cold. I scraped them off and continued with my meal. I'm just passing thru town, Scarlet Knife was a fantastic spot to dine and have a generous pour of award winning Cabernet Sauvignon.

We arrived early and were seated promptly; water was poured before we even had napkins on laps. This surprised me, as reviews indicated that service could be slow and this was a holiday. But this started a constant service of someone checking in on us every 2-3 minutes (I am prone to exaggeration for a good story, but I assure you this was true. I kept checking my watch to confirm). We put in an appetizer order (deviled eggs) that was served within a minute or two. These were well seasoned and tasty, ice cold from the refrigerator. It's not that they didn't taste fresh, but they were served to us so quickly that I know that they were prepared well in advance and only the warm pork belly was recently prepped. Our meals were served as the appetizer was finished (I was still chewing). At this point, we were 10 minutes into our seating. Our meals included steak and eggs, which I incorrectly assumed would require a little bit more time. Not true! Our plates arrived, piping hot and tasty enough...but boy did we feel rushed. Our server, the manager, bussers, and other attendants stopped by our table every few minutes. I recognize this was a holiday, but there was not a steady stream of people coming through the doors and plenty of open tables were available. Our conversation was repeatedly interrupted with these check-ins and we all took great care to eat the meal as slowly as possibly to stretch things out. At this point we were on track to be out the door in 30 minutes. As a table we made a decision to order dessert and we were able to savor and dawdle long enough to get us to one hour. $180 later, we finished our Easter visit out in the parking lot where no one was pushing us out. (I will note that several families arrived after us and completed their meals in 30ish minutes. What's special about brunch when it's that rushed?) I wish I could review the food better, but my taste buds hardly had time to register the experience. Entrees were hot but clearly prepared well in advance and kept at the ready under heat lamps or in warming ovens. The dessert was cold and sweet as appropriate, but had that prepped yesterday feel to it. This is not what I expect from a restaurant that markets itself as a fresh farm to table establishment. I don't quite regret going to Scarlet Knife, but there are enough quality restaurants in the greater area that I probably won't return.

The vibes are old school, classic ambiance. Classic American fare that leans toward fine dining, but still feels casual. The wooden bar was a great place to enjoy some drinks and a meal. The bartenders were amazing! I loved chatting with Andrew and Talia. I started with the cocktail list, they have a great selection of standard house cocktails and seasonal specials. I selected the seasonal Negroni to start and it was great. I opted to try the lobster chowder which was delicious and had a whole claw in it! It was a treat and I would definitely order this again. For dinner of course I got the prime rib which was a special. The portion was huge! And perfectly cooked. The Au jus and the horseradish cream were perfect sides for the beef. The sides were very standard but went well with the star of the show. It is definitely worth checking this place out for dinner, great specials and great food, amazing service in a really old school ambiance.

The Hostess was SUPER friendly and she never stopped working - cleaning tables and checking with guests to be sure everything was satisfactory. The waiter, Gregg, was very attentive and friendly. For context, I rate products and businesses on a simple scale: 5 stars means I love it, 4 stars…read moremeans I like it, 3 stars is okay, 2 stars means I didn't like it, and 1 star means I hated it or think it's unsafe. I've been to Innovo Kitchen in Latham several times over the years and I've enjoyed it every time. They have a unique menu that changes periodically, but I always find something that catches my eye. The interior has an industrial feel which I like, with a lot of exposed brick. The tables are made from old bowling lane wood, which is a really cool touch. When you walk in there is also a bowling pin displayed in a glass case. I remember there being a bowling alley somewhere in that plaza when I was a kid, so it seems likely the building has some history tied to that. The tables are also nice and large, which makes the dining experience more comfortable. Tonight I ordered the Monte Cristo burger which is described as battered Buckley's Bread sourdough, a 6 oz special grind burger, Taylor pork roll, Swiss, and Twin Leaf Farms maple aioli. It was quite tasty and I really enjoyed the hint of maple syrup flavor on the burger. The crinkle cut fries that came with it were also very good. Another person in our party ordered the White Chicken Parmesan, described as a crisp chicken cutlet topped with ricotta and garlic spinach and fresh mozzarella, with garlic parmesan cream and lumache pasta. They said it was delicious. Someone else had the Crispy Skin Salmon and enjoyed that as well. A child at our table ordered macaroni with red sauce. The portion was surprisingly large and they liked it, which is impressive because they are particularly finicky. For dessert we ordered something we've had here several times before, the peanut butter mud pie. It's basically ice cream in pie form with an Oreo cookie crust and chocolate fudge. It's very tasty and also a generous portion. At the end of your meal they also offer everyone at the table a tasty piece of gourmet chocolate. One thing that really stood out tonight was the attentiveness of the management. Two different managers stopped by our table at different times to check and make sure everything was good. I recognized one of them because I've seen him there before and he always seems to make a point of checking in with guests. The other person had seated us so I initially thought she was the hostess, but after she stopped by during the meal I asked if she was a manager and she confirmed that she was. I mentioned that I was impressed that two different managers had checked on us, and that every time I've dined there a manager has stopped by to make sure everything was good. I thanked her and told her it was appreciated. During the summer and fall they also have a very nice patio area for outdoor dining. On cooler nights they have heaters and a fireplace which makes it a great place to sit outside. I will definitely return here again in the future. 5 stars
