    GUAVA PASTRY
    Daren R.

Located in the Chapel Trail Plaza sits this Latin bakery in the center of a busy plaza. AMBIANCE: Relaxed setting with warm wooden walls depicting painted, "I Love Coffee". MENU: Traditional latin dishes with emphasis on pastry and coffee. FOOD: Guava pastry PRICE: $2.80 TASTE: Great - warm sticky sweet guava with a flaky shell. Sat on the mini outside patio with my guava treat which was my pre-breakfast appetizer.

Let's start with the service, it was horrible. I dislike nothing more than going to an establishment and feeling like I am bothering them by being there. The blonde middle-aged woman behind the counter is the complete opposite of welcoming. If the owner of this bakery is reading this, fire her or put her in the back because she should not be dealing with customers. After I waited at least 5 minutes, just standing there, and being the only customer, she stared at me, like saying "What do you want?" I couldn't believe it. I will say that the only reason I didn't leave was because I had a meeting in the plaza, and I was hungry and didn't want to be late. If not, I would have walked out. The food wasn't bad, but thats it. I will never buy anything from this place again.

    Mold inside the food.

Are these people freaking serious. They served me old rotten moldy food. I ate some of it too. I tasted something weird and it made me want to throw up. I can't believe this. These people really just leave their pastries out until someone buys it. Wow. I'm so disgusted with this place. This review isn't the end of this. Update: I called the business and they blamed it on humidity and it grew that much mold in less the 4-5 hours. Just amazed at them not taking responsibility.

    Chicken Sandwich

This bakery is conveniently located in the Chapel Trial Plaza next to Sherwin Williams. They have a variety of pastries and coffee. They also have a lunch menu with their delicious chicken sandwich as an option which I loveeeee. It has chicken, tomatoes, potato chips, mayo. They have have a variety of natural juices.

They remodeled the place to make a few adjustments. It was busy as always on a Saturday morning at like 10:30am. I ended up having a crossiant egg and cheese sandwich with some croquetas. My friend had a Cuban sandwich, which was good! Enjoyed the experience as it was quick and efficient for take out. Try the pan de Bono and the croquettes! Delicious!

I've been coming to this bakery for over 14 years however, the last few times I picked up food it's been ok, nothing like it was before. I believe there are new owners now. I picked up a chicken sandwich today....Not only was it OVER PRICED, but there was hardly any chicken in the sandwich. No thanks, definitely will not return.

Which is TO DIE FOR. I love sourdough bread and i swear i can eat this bread alone by itself and CAREFUL. May or may not eat the whole loaf myself. The cappuccino and lattes are also very good. Ive only had hot drinks here but i di think soon i will be trying their iced latte. As for the deserts i trying this chocolate covered croissant that was so good. Theres so many yummy baked goods i have yet to try but trust me when i say soon i will. The the staff is so sweet and helping. Always with such a smile on their faces. The bakery is beautifully decorated and recently opened a eatery next to it that id love to try as well. My favorite part is that's its woman owned. Who doesn't love that?

Well... there's certainly things to get and not get here…read more I went in for the first time ever and tried their guava and cheese croissant and their matcha. The croissant was great!! Flaky and hard outside with a soft inside. Would get again. Their matcha might as well been a cup of milk with green food coloring. Literally awful and tasted like nothing. It was PACKED and stuffy in there but the staff were all working really fast and got the orders out quickly. There's also barely any seating in there so don't plan to eat inside. Even for the seating that there was, you'd be surrounded by the people waiting in line. I would maybe come back for another croissant but definitely not for the drinks.

Got the spinach and cheese quiche with came some fresh fruits. Absolutely delicious! The spinach and cheese which was amazing. It was soft and layered well. You could taste both the spinach and cheese. The fruits were also delicious! I also got the cracking chocolate matcha latte. Cute experience! I think it would've been nice if it melted in the cup as well, but it just cracks and then you have to pick out the chocolate pieces from the cup if you want to eat it, else it kinda just sits there as full size chocolate pieces. The chocolate itself was also very mid. Not something I'd even buy in a grocery store. Wouldn't say the crackling chocolate cup is worth it other than for an instagram picture, but the food is amazing.

I've seen Buddies Bakery pop up on my feed so many times, but never actually knew where it was…read more.. until I randomly ended up in the same plaza one day (perfect timing because I was definitely in the mood for coffee ). First impression? Super cute, clean, and inviting. The staff was warm and welcoming right away, which always makes a difference. I ordered a pistachio latte--SO good. Smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Then I grabbed a chocolate croissant and an almond croissant... and let me tell you, these are not your average croissants. They're HUGE, flaky, buttery, and you can taste every single layer. If I had to choose, the almond croissant stole the show for me. 10/10. When I mentioned it was my first time, they sweetly gifted me an alfajor, which was such a nice touch and definitely earned extra points in my book. I also tried the banana bread, and this is the only area where it fell a little short for me--it needed a bit more flavor and moisture. Not terrible, just not on the same level as everything else. Overall, I'd absolutely come back, especially for the coffee and croissants. If you're in the area and craving something buttery and delicious, this spot is worth the stop.
