If I could give them negative stars, I'd give them a million negative ones. This review is strictly on the service from the workers & managers operating at this establishment.I can't really review on the comedians as we all know that they change all the time and it's a hit or a miss. My fiance and I are regulars here. We had a couple of friends come to town and brought them here for some laughs.BIG MISTAKE!!!!.We paid $20 per person for general admission for the 4 of us and got in line. There is a 2 drink min.per person & the drinks are $14-16 per cocktail. The line was not long at all and we were approx. the 20th person in line. Once we were inside, there was a hostess that took us to our seat. She pointed to the only row of chairs to the far left side of the room and told us to sit there. All the other chairs in the room had their own tables and the booths had the row tables in front of them. We looked around and the room was only 1/3 full. We were displeased with where we seated so I walked up and asked her if we can move to anywhere else. She was in the middle of seating other people who were clearly wayy behind us in line and I overheard her telling everyone, "go ahead and sit wherever you like." She turned around and got back to me. I told her if it was ok for us to move and she flat out said no. She said that if we wanted to moved anywhere else, we would have to pay extra to upgrade our tix to sit anywhere else beside that row. I asked her then why is it that the people who are behind me in line, and are walking in right now you told them that they can sit anywhere??!! WTF? She was caught in her own lie and didn't know what to say so she kept repeating about paying extra to move. I then asked her where the hell are we gonna put our drinks when our entire row had no tables, ON THE FLOOR?? She then had the nerve to say that we can steal the table in the row in front of us. Frustrated I just walked back to our seats. My out of town friend was so mad that he went and spoke to who I'm assuming is the assistant manager. She had a worker bring us 2 small round tables but just brought the tables and left them in the aisle. I had to pull the table to our seat and the guy just stood there watching and didn't bother to help. WAIT IT GETS WORST!!!! We were all a little ticked but decided to brush it off since the show was starting. Cocktail waitresses were coming around taking everyone's orders and bringing them their drinks. Everyone except for ours!! One of the cocktail waitress accidentally comes to us & says that she is not our waitress & that our waitress will come soon. We all started looking around & everybody in the entire venue had received their drinks and not only that we haven't received our drinks, no one had even came by to take our order!! I understand if the venue was full but entire venue was half full and all of the cocktail waitresses were just standing in the back row watching the show!! WTF!? 2nd comedian comes out & still no order taken. My blood was boiling by then. I got up and asked to speak to the manager. Her name is Katrina & I attempted to tell her of the horrible service & experience we have encountered so far. I'd have to say, Katrina is the rudest person let alone manager I have ever encountered at any establishment in my life!!! She refused to listen to anything I said, she made it seem like it was my fault, & she made no to attempt to make things better. She offered no apologies and said the only thing she can do right now is take down my order right here right now..WTF? I was soo mad but wanted to move on, I told her that's fine, but I don't know what my friends want to drink. She then proceeds to tell me to go back to my seat and ASK my friends what they want to drink and WALK back to her in the back of the room and tell her my order! R U SERIOUS!!?? I just walked off back my seat. I can clearly see the steam coming out of my friends ears. They told me that this is unacceptable and wanted to leave. Mind you that this entire time, if Katrina had a brain in her, she would have sent a cocktail waitress over to immediately take our order. Nope, I was right, no brain in her. We had enough so we left and Katrina was standing in the doorway. I asked her if we can get a refund because of the horrendous experience this establishment bestowed on us and basically wrecked our mood for the entire night. Of course she flat out said no and said there are no refunds. Still no apologies and she was actually yelling at us and and saying "Look, your friends are already outside!".. well they couldn't bare to be in there another min. longer!! I even told her that as a manager, you should try to re mediate things and make it better but she did nothing but made it worst. She eventually walks off. Laugh factory should fire her if they want to keep their customers. She has such a foul personality. Just look at all the other negative reviews, it all pertains to her! They advised us to show up an hour early prior to the show. Some things happened and my friends and i arrived only 30 minutes prior and we were able to get in within 2 minutes of getting our tickets at will call. I think they only tell you to arrive early so they can get you to buy more food and drinks before your show. The acts were okay. Some of the acts were somewhat awkward -- like it was their first time getting on stage. The seatings weren't the most comfortable. We got some booth seating, but in front of us were regular chair seating and they were positioned super close to our table to the point where if the waitress had to move down the booth to grab people's drinks orders or to give people their foods, she would have to slowly slide herself in between the tiny walk space. Poor waitresses. There is a 2 drink minimum (but can be non alcoholic). Food wise, they have stuff like fries, chicken tenders, cake, etc. Not worth the money paid, but I wouldn't expect you to bring your date here for a nice dinner. Lots of people go somewhere else for dinner then come here for a show anyways. Valet parking: total rip off. You pay them to park your car on the side of the street and at the end of your show, you pay them, and they give you your keys and you walk to your own car. Uh What?! The comedians were very good but there were only two plus the warm up guy! The total live comic show was from 7:55-9:15. So not even an hour and a half and there's a two drink minimum. They didn't tell us it would be over that fast, so I had two alcoholic drinks and then had to drive home, so had to go out and kill time before I could drive. $20 plus two drinks meant about $35 pp including tip. For an hour and twenty minutes. Not going back there again. It's better value ANYWHERE else. read more

This was my first time at the infamous Laugh Factory.The talent here was (for the most part) much better than the ones I've seen at other venues. Yes, there were your typical racial stereotype jokes, but for the most part, it was original. There is a two drink minimum. Sodas are $3 each and the price goes up from there. I was there on 2-7-2017 for a special event and so the crowd was very sparse. The ticket agent, the hostess and the host at the door were all very nice. I was hungry so I ordered the chicken fingers and fries. Oh my goodness they must have emptied the salt shaker on the fries. There is no reason for fries to be that salty! The chicken was over cooked and the waitress brought my food and not one napkin. Called and asked if there were any vegan options and they said i could have a bowl a lettuce with no dressing, laughed and said, "we are not vegan friendly". First off, as I was making reservations for this place, the lady behind the phone had an attitude and was rude for who knows what reason. It didn't seem like she enjoys her job... Maybe it was an off day for her, I don't know. Maybe I need to go on a night with a bigger headliner because when I went... It was slightly vacant (roughly 30-40 people in the audience) and really disorganized! I've been to Improvs before, but this was my first time at the Laugh Factory. Seating is first come, first serve, so help yourself to any available seat. Luckily on the night that I went, I arrived about 15 minutes early and still got a seat in the front row. I always like to sit in the front to enhance my experience. Just beware that you may get picked on and sometimes the comedians are not afraid to be blunt! There is a two drink minimum a person, or a bottle would count for two people. The food that they have here is limited to things like wings, fries, burgers, and chips and dip. My boyfriend and I had ordered the chicken wings and the spinach and artichoke dip. The chicken wings had three flavors, but when we got it, it tasted flavorless. The dip was very watery :/ Don't expect too much when it comes to food here. There are various waitresses walking around the aisles, taking orders in no particular order. Whether you just sat down, or have been sitting there for half an hour... They wouldn't even know. After the waitresses take your order, they take a card to put on hold. Our waitress said they weren't going to charge us until they come back to double check, but when the night was over, I got charged on my card and a little extra on gratuity for just a party of two. I don't care about the money, but it was the concept of the waitresses saying one thing, but doing the opposite. This place was really trying because the comedians every so often would announce on the loudspeaker for everyone to tip the waitresses more. There is valet parking here for 6$ or if you park in the nearby structure, it will be 3$ with validation. The business also charges you an additional 20% on top of the included gratuity, but after 3-5 days it will go away. Terrible service with VIP ticket purchase. VIP ticket holders supposed to be able to choose whatever seats they prefer and enter before the regular ticket holders. We were able to enter before the regular ticket holders but a rude host would not let us choose the seats we preferred and allowed non-VIP customer take the better seats. Staff needs better training with dealing with customers and preparing drinks. read more

First off, the comedians were hilarious. However, management sucks! Borderline DISCRIMINATION at this place. So, one of the comedians had a family emergency. Hey, I get it...stuff happens. What was supposed to be a $27 two hour show suddenly turned into 90 minutes. The very nice black couple behind me rightly complained and were given 2 free tickets to come back another day. Me? "Sorry, the show varies between 90 minutes to 2 hours." "But your website says FOUR comedians, a 2 hour show." "Well, the host is a comedian, so you saw four comedians." Are you kidding me? I would give this place one star, but the comics were actually pretty funny. I've been to this place a few times, and on a Friday night it has always been pretty packed. When I went last night, there were maybe 50 people there? But that's besides the point. My girlfriend and I are escorted in and the hostess sits down the group in front of us and then completely ditches us. So we sat down on some benches and then another waitress comes over and says "Hey, are you VIP?" and I said, "No.." and she says, "Then you need to move and sit over there" and pointed to some chairs on the other side. Alright, that was kind of rude. They require you to buy 2 drinks, which is fine, but I usually carry a bottle of water with me that is mixed with some medicine that I have to take. When I went last night, I pulled out the bottle of water and the waitress gawked at it and sent over security to take the bottle away. Like hey, you're forcing me to buy two drinks anyway, what difference does it make that I have a bottle of water? You taking that bottle isn't going to make me want to buy more drinks from you. In fact, it'll make me want to order the least expensive thing on the menu. Toward the end of the show, the waitress came around and started giving everyone their credit cards back. The first go around she gave me and someone else that was there the WRONG CREDIT CARD. I don't know how much more reckless you can be than that. Then she brought the check over to us and stood over me because I wanted to pay in cash. Like huh, can you give me some space here? My bill was $25.91 and I had a 20s, 10s and 5s. There was no way I was going to give her a $4 tip because of the way she was acting, so i asked her if she had change for a 5. She originally said no and I knew immediately that she was lying. So she reached into her folder and behold she had like 25 singles. She tried to play it off like even she was surprised she had those. So being my bill was $25.91, and she was acting like a snob, and she went out of her way to rat me out in the middle of the show and take away something that I actually needed, and how she stood over me waiting for me to put the money down like I was going to walk out without paying, I left $26 on the table and told her to have a nice night, to which she scoffed and said "Whatever". In case you are wondering who she is, she is the blonde with the cellulite legs with the tattoos on the back of them and one on her shoulder. Learn how to treat your patrons! Hey Laugh Factory management, I think it's time to hire new staff that doesn't treat your patrons like shit. It's reckless that they give people the wrong credit card back. It would have been really easy for me or the other guy to take those credit cards and get something nice for ourselves and you would have been on the hook for it. And based on the number of people that you bring in on a Friday night, it doesn't really seem like you can afford to have shitty waitresses handing out credit cards to the wrong people. read more

I had planned on celebrating my birthday at Sgt. Peppers however, repeated attempts to speak with someone during their normal business hours forced me to send over a last minute e-mail and they were unable to take my reservation. (My birthday is 2 weeks before Christmas...I take partial responsibility for last minute birthday plans). I called the Laugh Factory and spoke with Ena, their events coordinator. Originally I had about 30 people (causing reservations to be difficult) but Ena was great! I confirmed final count (we lost some due to the jump in entry cost) and our final # was 17. Ena explained that they usually only reserve for 20 or more but that she was willing to help me out. In the end we ended up buying 20 tickets because we had 3 on the fence and wanted to make sure they had a seat. 2 ended up not getting used and Ena comped them for us for a later show date. Also, there was some issues with my credit card for the payment. She very patiently tried different cards and called me multiple times until it was straightened out. The comics were A-MA-ZING. We were dying in the front row. My only complaint is that my husband ordered a bourbon and soda and the waitress brought him a bourbon and coke. He corrected her that he wanted bourbon and soda water and she brought him bourbon and coke again. Other than that, the experience was absolutely fantastic. We are talking about using our comped tickets for Valentine's Day in a couple of months...thank you Laugh Factory! P.S. My guests could not stop talking about how great the comics were. What a horrible place! We bought vip tickets in order to get in early and have a drink, etc... it took 45 minutes from the time we sat in order to get attention. I complained 3 times to the waitresses and eventually i was snapped at and was told to go talk to a manager. I went to the back, during the show that i paid for. The manager was clueless in regards to customer service! All she wanted to do is shut me up, no apologies... Then the show! It was a lineup of the most nasty comedians i've ever seen. There was constant talk of fuck, pussy, dick, cunt, etc... i'm talking CONSTANT! A lady from the back actually yelled out "THIS IS NOT A WHORE HOUSE"! Seats so hard they'll give you a hernia. And wine glasses so itty-bitty you'll never be drunk enough to laugh through it. Pretty much the jist of why I'm giving 2 stars. Came here last Saturday, made reservations that afternoon with my Costco e-Vouchers with no problem. General admission is usually $17 + 2 drink minimum, and the tickets covered the GA + 2 beers or wines for the same price,. We sat in the 3rd row, where we sat in tightly packed uncomfortable wooden chairs. There was no place to put down your drinks, The aisles are soo tightly packed, it was impossible to walk through the aisle to go to the bathroom, the couple on the end had to get up and out of their chairs to let us pass. The wine glasses are extremely small, I've never seen any like them-- you're lucky if you get 4 oz. About a year ago we also came here to see Russell Peters and after the show the waitress had a hard time finding my ID/credit card they held out back, but they wanted to get everyone out for the next show. 5 workers rudely told us "why haven't you left yet?Didn't you hear?? Everyone out!!" When we told them we were waiting for our waitress, they would just huff and walk away. I've noticed from this Saturday's show, service hasn't changed. Okay place to go to if you want something different than dinner and a movie on a Saturday night.. But if you can see a beloved comedian somewhere else-- more comfy, better service.. do so. read more

I just want to start off by saying I looked at Yelp the review of this place and all I had mentioned that the service was terrible and they did not like it. I went last night and I'm really glad that I did. If you purchase VIP tickets you do get in sooner and you get to pick the seats prior to everybody else. The service was really good too. comedians were hilarious and we had a really good time. It wasn't very crowded but it made the intimate setting pretty cool. My friend surprised me & took me here for my birthday and we had an absolute blast!! I had never been to a comedy club before and I'm so happy Laugh Factory Long Beach was my first. We easily found parking in the structure near the aquarium. It wasn't too crowded and even though we arrived right before the show started we were seated very close to the stage. It was a chilly night so we decided to each order two hot chocolates to meet the two item minimum. As far as the talent, those guys were on fire *insert flame emoji here* We laughed so hard the entire time that my cheeks and stomach hurt afterwards! It was completely disorganized, and extremely cold to wait outside for 1 1/2 hours, just so that we could be free advertising for the Laugh Factory. I will never go back here again, and never recommend it to anyone. The comedians were okay, but my friends make me laugh harder. The subject matter of the entire night was racism and gangstas. Yes, this is an impression that LB has a hard time living down from outsiders, and I think the comedians were trying to relate to the audience, but come on, an entire comedy night based on it? Had a great time.. Don't remember any of the comedians I saw ( one guy is a regular on Criminal Minds, I think), but we still had a blast. We laughed the entire time. The host/MC was hilarious. No one in the front row was singled out for intolerable cruelty, but definitely still had a good ribbing of the front row. The drinks are watery and overpriced, but I was prepared for that. We paid an extra $5 for VIP line treatment and seating. Definitely worth it to be able to get in first and pick seats with tables. It was a good experience. Will definitely be back. read more

I went to the Laugh Factory in Long Beach. The host (a korean guy - someone Hong?) was really offensive and not funny at all. All his 'material' revolved around women being bitches, stupid, or ugly, but how he would bang them anyway. No jokes, no punchlines - just awful, unfunny, misogynistic statements with little to no laughs from the audience. Since when does this pass for comedy? Why give someone like him a voice to vent his vile opinions? He obviously has some real issues with women and would be better off telling these to a shrink, rather than wasting the time of a paying comedy crowd. Also, when the waitresses took orders, they talked so loud during the show that it was really distracting. read more
