It's no laughing matter that we all need more plant friendly options to save our planet and our health, and Laughing Planet delivers that on many accounts. We ordered online for pickup which was super easy and convenient. The website allows you to fully customize your order too without needing to ask at the cashier, especially if there is a line. Our dinner consisted of the Sumac Salad ($11.50) w/o feta, and was a delicious blend of kale, spinach, crispy chickpeas, green applies, quinoa, raisins, and olives. The vinaigrette they used was very refreshing and I'd definitely order this again. We also had their Black bean Hummus ($5.50) which was a good, carby side, and their Tempeh Royale ($9.75) which was a solid burrito that can easily be shared with someone. The salad was my favorite but everything was good overall.

I love the laid-back vibe and casual bar seating almost as much as their decor. My most recent visit was with my cousin from out of town and her children and of course myself and my children; we had a party of 7. The kids were impressed with their chicken quesadillas and beans. My cousin and I ordered two chicken bowls, and my kids ordered two orders of their salsa and queso with chips and bean and cheese burritos. Some time had lapsed since my last visit there, but my tasebuds were overwhelmed with all of the fresh flavors in our bowls. We ordered cookies for the kids to eat on the way back to my car. If you're looking for a local spot for lunch in Midtown, check it out. They offer a more vegan and paleo friendly menu, and they don't dig too deep into your pockets. Although it took a while for us to even order, I knew our food would be worth it. There were food delivery drivers waiting by the bar and a full line behind us. There was only one girl running and trying to aid everyone. We felt for her. She was doing her best! They gave us our drinks, chips, and queso for the long wait. We came in during the normal work week and caught their lunch rush. I recommend ordering ahead if you're pushed for time. If you have time, enjoy this cool restaurant or get some sun on the patio.

I was in Reno, NV for a business trip and unfortunately the food that was served at the event I was attending was not vegetarian friendly... Due to this, I did a little research and happened to find Laughing Planet Cafe which was about a 15-minute walk from the event center. I am SO GLAD I found this place!! The food was incredible! I hesitated slightly when I ordered the Vegetable Quesadilla as it included carrots and cauliflower - something that I wouldn't think to put in a quesadilla... But the combination of vegetables plus the queso fresco and their house made green sauce was beyond perfect!! I ate the entire thing and could've probably eaten more. They were low on fruits for the smoothies, so I ended up going with the Mango Banana that's typically a kinds menu item because they ran out of peaches for the Mango Peach that I wanted to try. Nevertheless, it was equally delicious! Also, the service was fantastic! This place is counter-service and the guy behind the counter on this day was doing basically everything himself, but was friendly the entire time and handled it all with grace. Much appreciated!! Y'all be sure to stop by and support this local business!! I know I will if I ever end up in Reno, NV again.

I was craving something healthy and fresh and this restaurant was recommended. I ordered the Highway to Kale salad with chicken added and wasn't disappointed. The salad consisted of kale, carrots, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, queso fresco and a lemon-parsley vinaigrette. It was exactly what I needed! Very light and filled with fresh ingredients. I do think the chicken could have looked more appetizing but it was fine. Cashier who took our order was very helpful. They have outside seating available as well as interior.

This place was just what I needed. Healthy, quick, clean, not super expensive, lots of vegetarian and gluten free options and the smoothie was so good and refreshing. They had a lot of daily specials also This place is on the corner across from the university, two story historic building, lots of windows to look out. It looks like they also have live music nights. Chic interior. Parking is a bit of a struggle. But overall really glad we came here. I got the crunchero, mango peach lemon smoothie and chips and salsa. It was tasty!

What an awesome healthy dining option! We went mid afternoon so there was only one other couple there at the time. It is seat yourself with TONS of seating options. The ambiance is very eclectic, with fun and interesting decor. The food was DELICIOUS!! I personally had the Bollywood bowl - I cannot rave enough about the coconut curry sauce that came on it. Dining in was just fine, but the lack of a lively environment is why it didn't get 5 stars for me, but their food was all incredible and an also great takeout option for lunch.

This place is perfect if you want healthy! Great atmosphere and the guy that helped us was very nice. I did ask for no cilantro and well I got HELLA cilantro on my bowl. Whatever I picked it off but it's that attention to detail. I would not sit out back because it's infested with small bugs, flying into your face and hair. Other than those two things it was a nice place! I'd never go to this location again because it's impossible to find parking as it's right across from the University. Great spot for students if you ask me. The prices were good too!

mango smoothie & chicken bbq casadilla

Drink we could not finish, in my opinion it was overwelmingly lemonady with an odd texture and though i can appreciate fruity chunks in a smoothie we found a waxy seedlike booger thing in it. quesadilla ingredients were very good but the breading was soaked/damp- overall unappealing. some of their burrito options are good tho- would recommend the tempeh royale.

I had tried a few restaurants before finally feasting at Laughing Planet. I was in town visiting a friend, and can't thank them enough for pointing me to the best crunch wrap supreme something I could have ever met. Order the crunchero now and thank me later.

Competent but unimpressive. Very fancy vegan sorts of offerings but the execution is fairly mundane and definitely not worth the money.

We did have to wait a small bit of time to get a waitress. Which is understandable since we came in at 5 am. But I feel like they should have a bell or something so that we can at least let someone know that we were here. The only reason we got a waitress as quickly as we did was we asked a janitor whom was cleaning the floor to inform them as they were all back in the kitchen. The waitress was very kind when she came over and took us to our table. Got our drinks for us quite quickly and took our orders with ease too. The interior was quite pretty with clean wooden floor, wooden tables with nice soft chairs and booths! White bricked walls and a pretty stained glass roof over where we sat! We only had to wait like 15-20 minutes for the food, which was pretty good! I ordered the Ham Steak and Eggs and The ham was absolutely delicious! It was juicy, meaty and tender! The eggs are okay. Nothing really wrong with them, but in terms of taste, it wasn't my favorite. But they were cooked well and there was plenty of them. The potatoes were really good! Amazing flavor and seasoning and nice and juicy too! This place was really good! Delicious food, great service, acceptable prices, great seating and environment! Only thing I would change is add a bell of some kind for the strange time periods like when my friend and I came in, very early in the morning with no one out to see us. Otherwise, Very lovely place! I'll definitely be coming to this place again sometime!

Shoutout to our main waiter Bryce! He was solid! He was extremely attentive and made it his mission to check up on us every few minutes and after we received our appetizers, entrees, and desserts. 10/10 service. We ordered 2 cokes, the crab cake, a bone marrow and a beef carpaccio to start, two beef wellingtons, the broccolini, and two sticky toffee puddings. Everything was delicious. The crab cake was dense and full of crab. Paired with their citrus aioli, it was chefs kiss. The beef carpaccio was amazing. The beef was tender and was topped with an egg yolk sauce that really brought the savoriness to the beef. The bone marrow was thick, well seasoned, and melt in your mouth delicious. The beef wellingtons were med rare and juicy. The root veggies were tender but not soft. The potato puree was smooth and creamy and the Demi glaze was the icing on the cake. It brought everything together. When we got our sticky toffee puddings, we thought they were a bit small but we were pretty full by that point anyways so we didn't mind. Just as we were finishing them, Bryce brought over two massive ones and an apology. Apparently there was a mix up and the ones we ate were for the tasting menu. So we ended up taking the big ones to go which was great because that meant dessert for later. Overall, the meal was superb, the atmosphere was lovely, the service was impeccable, the staff were friendly, and the vibes were solid. 10/10 would recommend. P. S. My guess is that was where they have the intimate booth seating available so I don't know how else they could have seated us. Maybe put up more dividers at the front of the restaurant? That was alright though. We were looking forward to trying this place out. From there, the service was fantastic! The hostess was really friendly. Our server was very attentive and checked in on us a reasonable amount of time. We had our drinks refilled as well. The food, however, was good but I wouldn't say the Beef Wellington was worth the $70 spent. It is probably a dish that is one and done. I've tried it and now let's move on to something else. However, the best thing about the dinner though??? We received a complimentary Sticky Toffee Pudding to celebrate our special day. It was soooo good. We have never had anything like it. I would come back again just for the toffee pudding.
