Knowing this restaurant gets packed for brunch, a friend and I came right at opening and were able to get a table. We caught the tail end of happy hour which is a great deal with cocktails 1/2 off and $5 off snacky bits. I enjoyed their mezcal and sotol based cocktails, both of which had a nice spicy kick. My girlfriend and I shared: 1. Potato chips with pimento cheese. I was initially skeptical but I'm so glad we ordered this snack! Even though I limit the bread, we had to try the Pull apart sticky buns...truly tasted awesome and highly recommend trying it. Next I had the pork shoulder hash, this was really nice! The portion was perfectly sized. Comes with potatoes, Brussel sprouts and the shredded pork topped with 2 Sunnyside eggs and a Verde sauce. The one knock i would have on this is it came off a bit 1 note, the texture was the same, I was wanting some crunch, either from the crispy fried potatoes or something, but I solved that with a crispy side of bacon and we were all good! The wife had the asparagus Benny's which she said was spot-on with the poached egg and the English muffin was nice and thick which soaked up that runny yolk. First off, there's plenty of parking in front and to the side of the restaurant (although the side parking may be for the liquor store next door). The spots are wide and could accommodate the huge SUV we rented. Our waitress, Selin, was superb. She was attentive and remembered our entire order, without needing to write anything down! We were a party of 4 with 3 dogs. We made a reservation for the patio because we had our dogs with us. We were seated at a corner table on the patio, which gave our dogs more space to roam while leashed and tethered to us. It was pretty hot and humid outside (we came here on November 7, 2024 at 1PM). There were lots of flies and mosquitos around. Thankfully, halfway through the meal, the waitress put out a mini fan on our table to keep the insects away from our food. For appetizers, we got: Striped Bass Crudo - the fish was fresh and flavor was great. A bit too tart for my liking, but still very good. My partner said it was good, but he likes really sour and tart food. Burrata - very delicious. Had the right amount of sweetness from the glaze and great textural contrast with the nuts. Deviled Eggs - my favorite appetizer! The truffles really put this dish up there. Usually I find truffles gimmicky, but they worked really well here. Potato Chips (with cheese) - my least favorite appetizer. The chips were good but the dip tasted too much like cottage cheese for my liking. Fried Shrimp - this was SO GOOD! The shrimp were huge and cooked well. Not too much breading either. The accompanying sauce was good too. For our mains, we got: Fried Chicken Sammie - this was really good. The chicken was very crispy and moist and tender on the inside. The slaw on it wasn't overpowering. And the accompanying sauce was good. Steak Sammie - I did not get to try this, but my friend said it was ok. Farro Bowl - This was the best dish we got. The salmon was perfectly cooked: flaky with a crispy skin. The faro was also a good textural and flavor contrast. Plancha Burger (protein style, buns on side) - At first, this looked mid (you can see in my photos). But, when I dug into the patty, the meat had such a good texture to it. And the flavor was amazing! I could tell that it wasn't just a regular old frozen patty from the grocery store. The pickles and onions were also subtly tart and sweet, which I really liked. Our friend originally booked a brunch reservation here so she could try the birthday cake dessert, but the waitress said that's only served during dinner. We didn't blame her because they close up at 2PM for brunch, and it was already 2:15PM by the time we finished our entrees and asked about dessert. However, our waitress was so amazing!! She asked the chef and they said they could prepare the dessert for us because it was my partner's birthday. So, she brought it out with lit candles and added it to our bill (she gave us a new one because she already printed out our bill). The price was fair for what you're getting. Launderette was one of the best meals I've had in Austin. I am 100% going to be coming back and it's probably going to be the new spot that I recommend to folks coming to visit. While pretty much every dish was a hit, the items I am definitely going to be recommending are the fried shrimp (which was prepared perfectly with the perfect amount of crisp and bite) and the cauliflower (which was a great blend of flavors and textures). The chanterelle and the fall-off-the-bone sticky ribs were highlights as well. For dessert, the seasonal parsnip ice cream was a crowd favorite and will supposedly be here to stay through the end of summer. As for the food, everything was delicious. My fiancé and I agreed all of what we got was very good. So many great things on the brunch menu! Buttermilk pancakes are a must-try. Perfect texture and not too sweet or heavy. The iced oat lavender matcha latte was also amazing! For sure the one of the best matcha's I've had in Austin. Salmon gravlax was also pretty interesting. Definitely different than your usual lox bagel and I would order it again. I really wanted to like this place, but the customer service completely ruined the experience. There was a wait time of about 45 mins for a table which was understandable due to it being brunch time. However, after we were seated - we waited quite a while before someone came to our table. When our waiter (forgot his name but he was a bald middle aged guy) finally came over, he barely made eye contact, rushed us to order without explaining anything on the menu, treated us quite differently compared to other customers which was quite obvious, rarely came to check in on us, and seemed as if we were an inconvenience to serve. Food was pretty good (5/10) but nothing we would go back for again considering the terrible service from the waiter. Mimosas were flat and for the price not worth it. Tasted like they were poured the day before and left in the fridge overnight. I definitely recommend making reservations like we did since it can get pretty packed. We were seated outside on the patio where they have multiple space heaters as well as shades blocking out the wind so it wasn't chilly at all. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure everything tasted good. We each ordered one of the pastries of the day, there was a savory and sweet option. We went here on a whim after an early morning excursion and it did not disappoint. We waited at the heated outdoor lounge on the side of the restaurant as we got there early before they opened. I really love that they have outdoor heaters everywhere to keep customers warm when it's cold outside and for those who sit at the patio, they provide you with blankets as well if needed. Their patio seating is beautiful and so comfortable. Staff were all friendly, attentive, and professional. We ordered as follows: PULL-APART BUN - It was sticky, sweet tangy and buttery croissant that was perfect for a starter as much as a dessert to end your meal. CRAB LOUIE - it was a salad with crab meat which was so refreshing from all fresh vegetables and preserved lemon. The crab meat was fresh and the dressing was delicious with a bit of kick. PORK SHOULDER HASH - a great dish with a variety of textures and flavors (our server provided us with a side of house-made green hot sauce which was creamy with a bit of kick). I really loved the crispy fried shallots on top and their salsa verde. APEROL SBAGLIATO (one of their brunch cocktails) - We asked our server which cocktail has the most beautiful colors and he suggested this one. Unfortunately, I don't think it's that pretty in my opinion and it tasted like a premixed Central Market blood orange Italian soda (with booze) so it was a bit of a letdown. However, they didn't skimp on alcohol though because I felt the after effects for a while... The price is on the high end but we didn't mind paying for the quality of food and the level of service they provided, oh and cannot forget about their lovely patio area! We tried Launderette for brunch during our trip to Austin. The food was good. The Turkish egg was perfectly seasoned and paired well with the sourdough. The burger was cooked well and had a great sauce. I enjoyed the latkes as a side as well. I loved the pairing with creme fraiche and apple sauce. Five stars for my favorite brunch in town, however many years running. Had me at "Pastry of the Day" with a handful of delicacies to spoil my appetite. I have never ever once been disappointed. Most recently wowed and amazed by the artisanal croissant-like donut (is that a cronut?) except it didn't have a hole and instead was oozing with Earl Gray custard and glazed in mango that was altogether sweet, herbal, tart, excitement. Something else to love about Launderette (which used to be a dilapidated building to do the most mundane of all chores, and now is one of the most understated-chic hangs on the thankfully STILL up & coming East side) - there are staples like the Salmon Gravlax & Pork Shoulder Hash that remain on the menu for comfort and deliciousness, but always new newness like the Shawarma Cauliflower Bowl I enjoyed most recently. OH YAY! Pickled golden raisins (always YES), hummus, sweet potato, cabbage, arugula, and tahini marry up to textural and flavor ecstasy, washing away any guilt after enjoying dessert first. They have a curated selection of lovely wines and some equally tasty (and beautiful!) mocktails too, covering all beverage desires. I was excited to try this place after it had bee recommended a few times, but I never did make it to the mixed Yelp reviews before trying. I had high hopes but wasn't thrilled with the service. The food itself was alright. We ordered the burrata, pork ribs, octopus, carrots and brussels sprouts. I was a big fan of the carrots and the pork ribs. The octopus was chewy and the brussels were a bit soggy. I ordered the Wild Honey to drink, which was quite tasty and refreshing. Some of the food had a kick to it, and we were left without water for quite some time. We were seated outside and the staff was not the most attentive, so it took a while before we were able to wave them down for water. An updated brunch review! It's been awhile since my last review of Launderette. On this visit we ordered the Everything Biscuit sandwich and the Pork Shoulder Hash. I'm very particular about my breakfast sammies and the Everything Biscuit came out aces! I loved the unique biscuit covered in Everything bagel seasoning...genius! The egg was perfectly over medium (how I ordered it) and the bacon was meaty and crispy, and with the other ingredients including tomato, watercress, cheddar and chive aioli, it made for a decadent and delicious breakfast. The pork shoulder hash ingredients blended well together and the dish was hearty and delicious (we boxed up half to take home and it reheated quite well the next day). The "mash" consisted of the pork, potatoes and brussels sprouts. I really liked the bright sunny side up egg, the crispy string onion rings topping and the green verde adding just a touch of heat. My brunch cocktail was the delightful Pom Spritz. Sorta like an aperol spritz but a little more complex, with Cappelletti, pomegranate juice, lemon, cava and a rosemary sprig. I had to look up Cappelletti and the first that comes up in a Google search is a stuffed pasta....not to worry this drink did not come with pasta as adornment, for Cappelletti is also a wine-based aperitif. read more

I've always wanted to try Launderette's brunch and I was not disappointed! The service was amazing and I did not have to wait for my reserved table which is big for me. Our server approached us immediately with water and menus, and I was able to get my morning coffee within 5 minutes of sitting down. The ambiance here is bright and clean. Definitely gives daytime brunch vibes even though they do offer dinner. We decided to start with dessert first and got the pastry of the day which was a cruller stuffed with banana cream covered in chocolate. Omg it was so good. Like I still dream of it good lol. If it's still there, definitely recommend. I also got some fries and the pork hash without the egg(I don't eat egg) and both were delicious. We made a brunch reservation for 11am, which was the perfect time because we could still find parking in their little lot before it got really busy by 11:30. I definitely recommend making a rez. We sat at the bar top, which was cute and I noted they had a nice little patio as well. All of the employees were kind, but the service was a little slow. The bartender had a lot of drinks to make and they had a ton of staff waiting for the restaurant to fill up...why not help out the bartender if he's slammed? From the hummus to the potato chips & pimento and the Plancha burger were so overly salted in preparation and finish salt that we had to ask for alternates. You're able to make a reservation quite easily with their reservation system, so make sure to make it a point to do so. Our server Dani made our experience so enjoyable and fun and their recommendations for their off menu donuts (baked goods) was a win for the table. My personal favorite was the strawberry one although both were just as good. I ordered their espresso martini and it was so smooth, the perfect blend of caffeine with a pick-me-up to get the weekend adventures started. My main dish was their blueberry pancakes under their sweet menu and they were so fluffy! Felt like they were blended with clouds themselves. I got to try a delicious sampling of their sides, like the striped bass crudo, summer burrata, and beets, but what really kept me coming back was the summer peach shaved ice with roasted rice ice cream and peach jam.
