Just moved to the Summerville area and we are THRILLED to find such a fabulous Italian restaurant like this in town! Everything is lovely. Loved the feminine glassware, plates & hammered cutlery. But the food was the star! We ordered all different items at the table. Lasagne, agnolotti, gnocchi, margarita pizza, etc. all exceptional. Service was wonderful, attentive and kind. Laura did it again. 2 years Christmas Eve dinner in a row and 2 home runs. The server was amazing, so mad we didn't get her name. Where to begin? First I would like to say that the staff particularly the waiter and the post were wonderful. The food however, left much to be desired. The steak was tough and overcooked. Then, when it was returned with a substitution, the vegetables were raw and look like they had just been flash sautéed. We have been going there several years, however, we will not be returning. The kitchen looks like night of the living dead, appropriate I suppose since this was on Halloween! Zero hustle zero joy in that kitchen just a bunch of guys who look like they didn't want to be there, and probably should not have. Very disappointing. A very welcome addition to our town! I plan on visiting regularly. The food was outstanding the service was outstanding. We were attended to very warmly by the hostess and our waitress. Not sure what to order? They will help you figure that out. Compliments to the chef for the menu arrangement and the execution. We enjoyed the ricotta toast, shrimp scampi, the Blanco pizza, actually my favorite... The parpadelle fungi and the pork shank and last but not least the tiramisu. As for the cocktails I have to say if you enjoy an old fashion try theirs it is unique and quite delicious. Thank you Laura's for making our 27th anniversary celebration such a great evening. This is Andrew Butler your local Charleston Realtor, we just are at Laura and shhhheeeeeeesh! I had the lobster gnocchi and my mind was blown, the portions aren't HUGE but you can savor every bite. The filet was outstanding as well, the bread, the drinks and maaaan that desert display case is something else. Everything hands down 10/10. The food here is really good. The menu does change. My favorites are no longer available (pesto pizza & pork Milanese. I love the Agnolotti. I would not recommend coming here for a special occasion. They used to do complimentary dessert of your choosing, but now you get a scoop of vanilla gelato. It was very underwhelming especially since the last two years they let me chose a dessert. I would recommend Halls for special events. You get dessert and champagne. I also thought it was tacky to list the gelato on the bill with $-6.00. I made reservations for date night dinner at Laura! The restaurant is new to Summerville's downtown area. The inside as decorated beautifully with the added real estate of a covered patio area, bar & tv's . We were seated outside on the patio. The vibe was cute, but intimate. Hubby & I ordered an amaretto sour & water. This helped since it was so hot. Our waitress did a great job of going over specials. We ordered Beef Carpaccio as an appetizer. Service was a quick, it took no time for it to come out. The only issue was that once it did, the flies did too. The restaurant does try to do a good job of keeping them away with these portable fans. We ordered the Laura Primo w/ Scallops & the bolognese. I'd return again, but request inside seating. The patio area would be a great option when the temps drop a bit. If you decide to try this restaurant out make sure to make reservations, as the will not be able to accommodate walk ups. read more

We have been to this restaurant twice and each time have found the service, food and quality wonderful. You get greeted with smiles at the door. The servers are very knowledgeable and the management staff very attentive. The food is the highest quality and the chefs, take great pride in their dishes. The food was amazing. We got the beef carpaccio and focaccia bread for starters. He got the lasagna a là Laura and I got the spaghetti vongole. Then to end the meal we got tiramisu and a cannoli. I've heard mixed reviews from friends and neighbors, but decided to give it a try for my anniversary. The atmosphere is very open and there are options to dine inside or outside with a covered patio. We ate in the main dining area and despite it being busy, it did not feel cramped. Our server (Savannah) was very quick and did a great job explaining the menu and making a recommendation for appetizers and main course. She was great throughout the evening. This review is not a reflection on the server at all. We ordered focaccia bread and meatballs for an appetizer. Bread good. Meatballs were smallish, but tasted good. For the main course(s) my wife got the Chicken dish and I got the Agnolotti with Shrimp. Chicken dish started out good but being baked with skin on, it wasn't cooked long enough to render the fat. It left some slimy bits that were not appetizing. The Agnolotti was overpowered by lemon but was tasty. The shrimp (added $) was undercooked. I would guess it was frozen and not thawed completely before being cooked. I've done that before, cooking at home. I don't expect that at a restaurant. Chose to get dessert "to go" strawberry cheesecake dipped in white chocolate. It tasted like artificial flavoring and the strawberries in the cake were brown and slimy. Thank you for the complimentary gelato. Overall, we were very disappointed and don't plan to go back. Pretty pricey for the quality of food. read more

When they first opened we were so happy to have them in town and I might add we still are. But our friends as well as me and my husband noticed a difference lately. Especially in the serving sizes that have gotten a lot smaller but the prices have stayed the same. For one the octopus, the first few times it was so much that a couple of us ordered it for dinner instead of an appetizer and to our surprise it was considerably smaller. We left hungry and my friend was not happy. Then they gave it another chance and they said still small portions. I recommend Laura's to a coworker and she told me the same, that the portions were too small and not worth the money. I love their Caesar salad and find it's a good portion as well as their desserts!!! It just seems if you open a new place and want to impress you need to be consistent in what you served in the beginning of opening. read more

Extraordinary! Super excited that we have an Italian restaurant like this here in Summerville!!! Drinks (Negroni, the Laura and a Sardinian white wine) we're all wonderful, appetizers focaccia bread and artichoke were unique and delicious, main dishes vongole and lobster were beyond spectacular! The vongole not only had clams, but also shrimp, scallops and peas and a scrumptious lemon cream sauce unlike anything we've ever had elsewhere! The lobster had a lemon risotto and basil and remained hot. Desserts tiramisu and cannoli were also amazing. Such a memorable meal. Service was on par, and this spot is spacious and clean. This place absolutely blew me away. The ambiance was spot on with a comfortable laid back vibe. I came on a Wednesday so I didn't make a reservation and was able to get a table immediately around 5:00. I dined alone so that also may have had something to do with it. The octopus appetizer was literally spot on and one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. The Pappardelle was also so good, spicy, creamy, and garlicky. I am a garlic gal so I was in heaven. I took home a piece of the butter pecan cheesecake which was absolutey decadent. This will be a new restaurant in the rotation for me and I will definitely be back. read more

I was so excited to try this place! We gave it 3 chances and each time the good was increasingly more disgusting. Over priced, no flavor, undercooked - just plain old BAD FOOD. My first ever experience with an artichoke was everything I hoped it would be. The ricotta filling was bright with the addition of lemon zest and a balsamic drizzle. The pappardelle funghi was also delicious. The Caesar salad was great but the highlight of my night was the polenta with the pancetta and Parmesan cream sauce. Easily in the Top 5 of the best things I've ever eaten. The garlic spread that goes with the focaccia bread was bright and salty (in a good way) . We finished the night with tiramisu and the strawberry panna cotta , with the panna cotta taking the win, which was a pleasant surprise to me. We showed up at our reservation time and were seated immediately . The server Ray was excellent, he explained the history of the restaurant went on to review the specials for the evening. My wife and I decided to order the veal entree. It was the worst veal I had ever tasted. My wife's had a layer of fat on it. It did not even taste like veal, more like lamb..Somethings wrong with this dish. Take it off of the menu ! Dessert was good, cannoli, and they gave my wife free gelato for her birthday. We went to Laura with another couple tonight for dinner. I booked reservations as soon as they opened up slots. We started with the octopus and artichoke. We then ordered the Veal Saltimbocca, Laura Bolognese, Chicken and Agnolotti. We enjoyed our salads as recommended after dinner. Then had cannoli's for dessert. As a table of four we all shared and enjoyed the meals family style. We also enjoyed the blood orange martini, the draft beer and shared a bottle of the house red wine. Our server, Amanda O was fantastic! We tried all of her recommendations. The food was all so fresh! I could taste the lemon zest! It is so wonderful to have a restaurant like this in Summerville and not have to travel to downtown Charleston or Mount P. The highlight of the night was when chef Nico Romo stopped by our table! My husband and I went with a dear friend to celebrate her birthday. This was our second visit to Laura and the service was just as warm and welcoming as our first visit. We purposely tried different dishes this time and they were just as delicious as our initial visit. We shared the pizza Blanca as our appetizer. My hubby had the lasagna for his primo course. My friend and I both chose the bucatini, I had mine with shrimp and she added meatballs to her pasta. Everything was simply delicious. We skipped the secondo course and headed straight for dessert, I had the straciatella gelato (mouth watering), Diane and Kevin each had tiramisu (quite a large helping and delicious)!
