We chose Lavash to celebrate our anniversary and made a reservation earlier that morning. When we arrived, the restaurant was hosting a private party, and instead of being greeted by staff, we were confronted by the party host who repeatedly and very rudely told us to "get out" -- at least four times. We calmly explained that we had a reservation and asked to speak to a manager. After waiting at the door, two waitresses eventually came out only to repeat the same message, with no attempt to understand the situation, no apology, and no acknowledgment of how disrespectfully we had been treated. The lack of professionalism, basic courtesy, and accountability was shocking. There was absolutely no remorse shown by the staff for the uncivilized manner in which we were spoken to. Long story short, Lavash is now completely off our list. If this is how guests with valid reservations are treated at the door, one can only wonder how the food is prepared and served behind the scenes. The Lavash team hosted a private event for over 60 of our guests, and they were simply incredible. Every detail--from the food to the service--was flawless. The khoresht ghameh bademjan was to die for, the baghali polo was hands-down one of the best our guests had ever tasted, and the kabobs were perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. The array of appetizers kept everyone delighted--each one better than the last. One guest told me the hummus was the best he's had in 30 years, while others couldn't get enough of the dolmeh and the fresh, vibrant house salad. The service team was exceptional--warm, attentive, and smiling the entire evening. They treated our guests as if they were welcoming them into their own home. A huge thank you to Ali, the owner and head chef, who personally oversaw the evening. He surprised us with delightful extras--like kabob hors d'oeuvres and baklava that everyone raved about. First time visited this restaurant today during lunch with more than 5 people, the place is nice and clean good decor. The service was slow with one person taking orders for 5 different tables and bringing food. He kept forgetting to bring food or something or other. They should at least have two servers at lunch time. My co workers couldn't eat because the food was brought so late, server forgot our appetizer. Food quality is good, serving size is small. I spent over $2,500 hosting my husband's funeral at this restaurant, and I expected much better quality and honesty in their food. The kababs were fine, but the baghali polo with lamb, which I paid extra for, was a complete disappointment. Instead of serving the lamb separately as it should be, they cut the meat into small pieces and mixed it into the rice to make it look like there was more meat, very misleading and not how this dish should be served. The gheymeh was awful -- they even added big chunks of eggplant that I never asked for, and the flavor was nothing like real gheymeh. After spending that much money, the least they could do was serve authentic, properly prepared food. Totally disappointing experience. read more

They will also bring you fresh lavash bread and Persian salad which was amazing as well. The kababs are juicy, and barbecued to perfection. Stopping here for an early dinner was easy, and hardly any patrons were there. Just one other table was occupied. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has quite a few Mediterranean selections, and I chose the lamb shank. We were first offered some pita type bread with a dipping sauce, oil and veggies. All very fresh and delicious. I The shank was excellent, well seasoned and fall off the bone tender. It's not a huge piece, unlike other restaurants where I have had it, yet adequate enough. The downside were the mashed potatoes and vegetables, broccoli and carrots- all totally tasteless and without any flavor. The vegetables almost seemed like something from the supermaket frozen food area. Service was very good, friendly and efficient. The dip was good too - lots of garlic :) In lunch special #4 I had a falafel sandwich, greek salad, rice, and hummus. Everything was very tasty. The falafel sandwich was a little dry, but this was solved by adding some hummus and the dip from the lavash. It was a lot of food for lunch! My partner got #3 - gyro sandwich, caesar salad, chicken, and hummus. His chicken was delicious and tasted very good with my rice. The only thing I wish was that we could mix and match the items in the specials (maybe we could've - I didn't try asking), but a choose your own adventure would have been more fun because I like falafel, but don't want to eat everything vegetarian! What happened, Lavash? Each time I get your lunch specials, the quality and quantity both decline. First Visit - I got the gyros sandwich lunch special, and some other lunch specials for the fam, and we all thought it was all delicious. Otherwise, things were about as consistent as the first visit. Third Visit - What happened to my gyros sandwich? I dug and dug for the meat, and the wrap sandwich was so messy to eat. The owners are Persian, and while they do have a few Persian items (kababs mostly), the menu is wide as it also has Greek, Lebanese, and Italian. Thus, the Mediterranean Yelp category. We got one Filet Mignon kabab [$23.99, 3.0 stars], and one Chicken kabab [$18.99, 3.5 stars]. Chicken was better, as the Filet was just okay -- we think it's because it wasn't marinated long enough (or at all). The rice was good but small portion, and it was served with a side of broccoli & carrots. While I like that, it's not at all Persian. Unfortunately, it's overpriced, small portions, and just good not great. Will we go back? Probably not. read more

It also took quite a bit for our food to come. The pita and chicken were good (5/5) but the filet mignon kabob was very, very tough and over cooked (3/5). Would not recommend. The salmon was under-seasoned and lacked flavor (3/5). The lamb shank was good (4/5). Overall I'm disappointed in the experience and service.
