I heard about Lavender & Honey from a friend and then decided to go try. The place is rather cute, and all the décor fits in with each other. Not too much sitting room indoors, but there are some spots outdoors. I had a hard time deciding on which coffee drink I wanted to get, but since this place has the word "honey" in there, I opted for the Honey latte. Besides, I asked if it was super sweet and they said no, so I decided to go for it. They were right - it wasn't super sweet at all! It had a nice subtle honey flavor, and I was able to taste the espresso in the latte. Very nice. Solid on their coffee. My friend decided to go for the honey latte too, but with a non-dairy milk. She enjoyed it as well. We also decided to try a toast. The toasts they have here are on the simple side, but the flavors are there. We were on various trips comparing various avocado toasts from a variety of places and in terms of the price, this one wins it. We got the Pasadena toast, which had the smashed avocado with red jalapeno peppers. The peppers really do add in that spice! It tasted better than it looks, but it can be too spicy for those that cannot really tolerate the spice. I like my iced coffee is the way I like my men: neat, sweet, and to the point. Lavender and Honey, by far, has the best lavender breve I have ever had! You just can't go wrong with this drink. Service is friendly, there's always a line but it moves quickly, and there's ample parking is located in the back lot. Be warned though, Saturday and Sunday mornings tend to be hectic! The best coffee in this part of Pasadena. The cutest coffee shop too - atmosphere and environment is super trendy, hipster, cute and homey. Good place for a study sesh, or a friendly catch-up but a bit too small for a formal meeting or meeting someone new. It's a smaller shop with a few tables but a good-sized patio facing the parking lot. Parking is easy with ample, free parking for their shop and the adjacent shops (clothing, brunch, dessert). I'm not a coffee person so I usually order an iced vanilla latte or an iced tea and it hits the spot every time. Side note: There is no public restroom for customers. I super trust this place as a small business and consistently go here instead of chain coffee shops. Such a cute place! I wasn't sure what to get for a drink because they all sounded so yummy, but I finally settled on the cinnamon creamed honey latte (iced; with oat milk). This was so delish! It was the right amount of sweetness, the espresso wasn't bitter, cinnamon wasn't overpowering, and overall a great drink! The drink is definitely 5 stars! I also got the ham and cheese croissant, and this was good, but honestly could have skipped it. Maybe it would have tasted better warmed up, but it had some overcooked cheese that I couldnt even bite into. Still not bad though! Cute little coffee shop. It seems like people like to come here to get work done, but they aren't open late, so not good for evening study sessions. I tried their version of avocado toast. I love whatever bread they use, but the avocado spread was not memorable. Still, you get two slices for $4.75 which is super reasonable. The lavender lemonade was good but a touch sweeter than I prefer. It might be good for people who like really sweet lemonade. They have tables inside and outside. There is a small parking lot, but it's shared with other businesses, so it can get full quickly. There is also street parking. read more

Service- Fairly quick, but I've only been here on the weekdays. I hear the weekends are pretty packed. Parking- There's a lot in the back, however street parking is also an option. Food- I've always been satisfied with what I've ordered. I've ordered the PLT and added fresh mozzarella. Perfect for a lunch meal. I've also had their ricotta, lavender and honey toast which is better as a snack item along with coffee. Coffee- I like their coffee selection. Service. The service was notably poor, with an order of a prosciutto peach sandwich taking 50 minutes despite other customers placing orders after mine. A friend also placed an order for a nutella banana toast that took the same amount of time. I saw another customer wait a half hour to receive a sandwich as well, who left for an appointment without the order. The staff provided a wait time of 10-15 minutes for orders, yet the two baristas at the front seemed to lack communication with the two preparing food. Even upon hearing of their mistake, no apology was offered, and the food was not prepared with a sense of urgency. Drinks. The drinks were prepared quickly. The lavender peach sweet tea was a bit bitter being a black tea, but the lavender syrup provided a subtle sweetness. Food. The prosciutto peach sandwich was delicious and presentable. The prosciutto was well placed and glazed with peach lavender honey. The goat cheese tasted fresh. I would order it again. Environment/Ambiance. The space is small and cramped for a cafe, or reasonably sized for a coffee bar. There is minimal seating indoors. There is not a sense of design that prompts sitting to enjoy a meal. Jars of honey are sold on a table, alongside more tchotchke items like t-shirts and mugs that cheapen the interior design. Value. Overall, I would not recommend ordering to-go from inside the store. Perhaps online to-go orders are prioritized, so I may consider ordering ahead of time to minimize the wait. The venue is not a place to enjoy the meal inside. With better service, I would consider coming back. read more

The coffee, lemonade, salad and croissant were very good. The person who took orders and the baristas were amazing. They were lightening fast and super friendly. My only complaint is the glacially-slow salad maker. She was SO slow. I watched her tear off tiny pieces of lettuce for five minutes, dropping each piece one by one into a bowl. The whole salad took about 20 minutes and she looked like she was in a sad meditative state the whole time. I suggest moving her to another area of the cafe and move one of the caffeinated baristas over to salad making. The place was packed, everyone was clearly enjoying everything, but for someone standing there awkwardly waiting to join her friend at an outside table, watching the incredibly slow salad assembler on Valium taught me a new level of patience. read more

Impressions: Lavender & Honey is a small and cute cafe great for togo orders and short visits. The cafe was constantly busy throughout my entire stay ~6 hrs and there was always a line. There is no public wifi or outlet available for customers so not the ideal place for an extended stay or to do work. Restroom is outdoors and requires an employee to meet you there to open the door for you and it can be a somewhat difficult to ask for staff to open the door without customers thinking you're cutting in line. Service: Staff is very friendly and attentive. One staff member noticed that I was moving into a larger table and immediately rushed over to clean off the table for me. They were also patient with me asking for recommendations and didn't make me feel rushed despite there being another customer behind me. Food & Drinks: I really enjoyed the Cold Brew Tonic. It was refreshing and gave me the kick I needed to start my day. I had the Avocado Toast for breakfast and liked the peppers on it, but there isn't much to say about it. It was just as expected and nothing stood out to me. For lunch, I ordered a Sriracha Roast Beef Sandwich and another Cold Brew Tonic. I got two orders of the Pasadena Toast aka their avocado toast for me and my sister and 1 of them was literally 1/3 the size of the other.... Why am I paying full price for the tiny one. Like I'm sure whoever prepared my order can obviously tell based simply off the # of peppers slices that that THIS AINT IT. Taste wise, the Pasadena is toast is pretty underwhelming. Some salt would really elevate this dish. I also got the L&H Latte which was delicious. And then got a Parisian sandwich to split with my sister. Taste was also OK, not wow-ing. Such a compact, beautiful, tasty cafe! They offer unique drinks and foods you don't see too often. Very friendly baristas who know the menu very well, and the espresso is really just perfect. We ordered 3 drinks : Honeybee latte, Cold Brew tonic, and Lavender Lemonade (all pictured). The latte and lemonade were unique AND delicious. I wasn't a fan of the cold brew tonic, but admittedly, the barista did let us know beforehand that some people hate it and some people love it, so no harm there! Let me start by saying I love this place. Its food and its coffee they're delicious. I have been here multiple times their HONEY is amazing.! However, yesterday my friends toddler grabbed the wrapper to my sandwich which I waited 25 mins for and it fell on the ground. My friend was so apologetic and asked if they could remake it . Their response was No that we would have to buy another one after combined we spent $85 for our lunch. I understand that it wasn't their fault this happened but anyone who has multiple children understand that accidents happen. I am disappointed and feel that they could have been more empathetic to the situation. I just reviewed the Redondo location for my first review ever, and I realized that I needed to do the same for my favorite, go-to coffee shop! The brown sugar latte is my favorite, but lately I've been enjoying the seasonal drinks, especially the peppermint fudge mocha and the pecan latte. They're all amazing, and I alternate between hot and iced depending on the weather. The sandwiches are also excellent, and along with Parisian ham sandwich, I really like the vegetable sandwich!
