Spitz has always been one of my most favorite spots for a great meal! I went with my husband and we tried the Berliner bowl with beef and lamb and the Remix bowl with chicken. Both bowls were delicious, the sauces are all so yummy and flavorful and the bowls are nice and filling. The Sugarhouse location is small and doesn't have its own parking lot. We always park in the lot by Whole Foods and walk in. The service and ambiance is always friendly and fun at Spitz as well.

I love that they have great outdoor seating as well. You can tell this place is constantly improving how they serve and it makes all the difference. The last time we went in the staff was friendly. The restaurant itself is fun and upbeat. We love Spitz and recommend it to everyone we know!

Fun casual date night tonight!! A lot has improved since my last review, so I wanted to update. We dined in for the first time in a while, which I think made a huge difference! I had a refreshing beer and the Gluten Free Street Cart fries, which I've wanted to try for a while. They were delicious! My husband got the Vegetarian Remix Bowl, which he also enjoyed!! Even though it was a very busy Saturday night, the service was excellent!! There were a lot of to-go orders plus all those who dined in. Everything seemed very efficient. Will need to come more often!

This places food is amazing! Came here because pictures online looked amazing and the food matched the photo quality. Everything was fresh, flavorful and presentable. The only draw back I had was the falafel was a little drier then I'm use to but with a little sauce on it , it fixed that. Food came out pretty fast hot and fresh! Only thing that was confusing was when we walked in couldn't tell if it was full service or order at the register. Then when we ordered we didn't know to take the number so we sat down confused. Only got our kombucha not our water right away. Other then that, Service was great! The girl who took our order helped us get our loaded fries mixed when we were stuck between regular or sweet potato. I'll definitely be back!

summary: the food was crispy, fresh, and delicious. Casual sit-down or carryout vibe. Overall solid. The food is good, but I would say some of their options lean on the slightly saltier side of things. I did feel like there was an element of imbalance in the portions for some of the bowls (e.g. a lot of tomatoes/hummus in comparison with other ingredients). Some of the service elements didn't quite make sense to me. For example, they sell rice for their bowl, but I'm unable to order a side of rice unless I get the bowl. Not a huge deal. The restaurant location itself felt a bit on the dark/grungy side (I think that's the vibe/decor they were going for). Pretty cool spot with a solid option of choices to pick from. I think my favorite were the wings. read more

A bit hard to find, as the door wasn't labeled... but once I was inside, the ambiance was chill and relaxed. Had the traditional gyro, and fries. Both tasty. Get the sauces, as they make it next level. I plan to try one of their specialty drinks next time. read more

I Went in to pick up a to go order I had some extra time so I ordered a drink. The White sangria was amazing, honestly best sangria I've ever had! The Gyro beef and lamb meat was flavorful. Spitz has always been one of my most favorite spots for a great meal! I went with my husband and we tried the Berliner bowl with beef and lamb and the Remix bowl with chicken. Both bowls were delicious, the sauces are all so yummy and flavorful and the bowls are nice and filling. The Sugarhouse location is small and doesn't have its own parking lot. Spitz used to be my favorite place. Everything was on point and so tasty. Now it is fine. Food is okay, flavored water was a weird combo. Parking is confusing (can you park in the Sugarhouse Commons lot?!?! Who knows.) They do have a lovely outdoor area, which is always a plus. I don't know if the Spitz of yesteryear was real or has inflated in my memories. read more

Fantastic. My one regret in life may be not coming here sooner! The food was absolutely packed full of delicious on so many levels. I got the doquitos while my friends got gyros. You could tell everything was fresh and the fries? Amazing. Seasoned so perfectly and had the perfect texture. Calories for everything? Maybe don't think about that part though. I also love the aesthetic. They support local artists and you can tell they've left their mark on the place. I also loved the cute little sticker vending coin turner thing so that you can even support local art. The staff was also very chill, nice and attentive. They bring the food to you and make sure you have everything you need. I hope everyone has this experience and gives this place a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

This place understands that food porn can look good and taste even better. It's been a while since I've been at Spitz and I was amazed at the freshness, quality, and demonstration. We got the street fries and Mady bowl. The street fries are so tasty, especially if you get regular and sweet potato fries to mix it up. We had lamb and beef on top. I love all the cheese and the sauces and everything goes together really well. The media is good, with lots of good hummus and great sauce. The Street Cart Fries. Every bite was a texture and flavor bomb--salty, spicy, tangy, crunchy. Absolutely addictive. Their draft selection features local picks that complements the food, not just fill the menu. I went with Kiitos Blackberry Sour - tart, refreshing, and the perfect match for all the richness on the tray. For hydration they even have a few different infused water options that just go so well with overall casual, colorful and energetic vibe of the place. Stopped in for lunch today and was blown away! The food is incredibly fresh, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. I love that there's such a wide variety of options and sauces to choose from. We ordered the taquito inspired dish and a rice bowl, and both were delicious. The sangria was also a great addition to the meal. This place feels like clean eating but without sacrificing taste! it's flavorful, satisfying, and my new go-to spot for Mediterranean food. Could not recommend it more! read more

I love getting Spitz when I'm in the mood for Mediterranean food. My favorites are their Gyro and Berliner Fries. They don't skimp on the meat at all and everything tastes very fresh. Their fries are also insanely crispy and the portions are massive. A gyro or wrap is usually two meals for me, and when I order the fries it's to share. The service has always been great and very quick. I usually order online for pickup, but the one time I ate there my food came out less than five minutes after ordering. There's free street parking right outside. I definitely recommend giving Spitz a try! read more

It's a decent spot for some quick and dirty Mediterranean food. The Donner basket gives you a bit of everything. The food is good but even having dined in sometimes it is not hot which begs me to question how long it sits out before being served. Come in do NOT order pick. up as things can get mixed up on the phone and on Door Dash. read more

Spitz is a great Mediterranean/greek chain in Utah. I wish there was one closer to where I live. The gyro, the loaded fries, the wraps, and salads are all delish!!! I have never had anything not good here. The service is great, love that they have adult drinks too and the place looks great. Spitz has pioneered an upscale quick-service restaurant concept that combines the food quality, ambiance and customer service typically found in upscale dining with the price and speed most often associated with fast food. This means that nearly everything, from the kebab to the sauces is made daily in-house. The ambiance, from the music to the art, is unique and inspiring. History

Established in 2012.

Josh Hill and Tanner Slizeski have been dreaming about bringing the Döner kebab (pronounced duh-ner keh-bob) back to Utah for years. Both of them first experienced the deliciousness of the Döner while studying abroad in Europe, and seeing the success their childhood friend Bryce Rademan has had opening several Spitz locations around Los Angeles they knew that Utah needed the amazing combination of Döner kebab, fresh veggies, craft beer, unique mixed drinks and sangria that Spitz is famous for. Bryce and his business partner Robert Wicklund built the first European-style Doner Kebab restaurant in Los Angeles, and in so doing, they raised the bar on all upscale quick-service eateries. Josh and Tanner are proud to be bringing the Spitz concept and everything it stands for to Utah, and are determined to insure that the food quality, ambiance and customer service will never be sacrificed. I ordered the Beef Shawarma and my wife got the Musakhen with fries. The Clam Chowder was good. I've certainly had better, like at Market Street in town or at the Brigantine in the San Diego area. The server was kind of stumbling over his words when he described it and until it arrived I wasn't sure if it was going to be New England clam chowder or Manhattan. He proclaimed that it was the best clam chowder you'll ever get at a Middle Eastern restaurant and I can't really argue about that. The Beef Shawarma is served in a wrap that is open at both ends and cut in half. They put a small portion of pickled items on the plate and dust everything with sumac powder. The beef is thinly sliced. I really didn't enjoy the flavor. The greens in the wrap were extremely bitter and in my opinion it made for an unpleasant flavor. Maybe I just got extra bitter greens on mine but it was overwhelming everything else. I didn't like that the wrap was open, I had to lean over my plate as I ate because the sauce was dripping out and I didn't want to get it on my clothes. Eventually I gave up and used my fork to pull the meat out of the other half so that I could avoid the bitterness. The Musakhen (that's how it is spelled on the menu) was also a wrap. I tried a bite and I liked that better than the beef Shawarma but I still didn't really like something about the flavor. The fries were nicely crispy and fresh but there is a seasoning on them that really wanted to be on my fingers more than it wanted to be on the fries or my napkin. Like no matter how hard I tried to wipe it off there was still some of it on my fingers. Once again there was something about the flavor I didn't really like. My wife eventually offered up some of the aioli and it made it a little better but once again I didn't really like the flavor of the aioli. So for whatever reason the flavors there just aren't for me. My wife on the other hand was very excited about everything and was talking about all the things she was going to try the next time we visited. I didn't want to be a negative bummer during the meal but I was thinking she was going to have to come back with someone other than me. The restaurant is nice and they have very good service. There were a few other tables of large groups and it seems like this is a place that works well for get togethers. Parking is not adequate at all. We got a spot but only because we got there at 4:50 for dinner. I overheard other people talking about the trouble they had finding a spot.

This place is great, we have gone several times and have had absolute great service and great food. It is never lacking flavor or ingredients. Im a bit baffled by these other reviews that say they are missing ingredients or they are tryin to fit in with hipsters. We went last night and saw a wide range of people, families etc. If having a funny saying on the tip jar means they only cater to hipsters then I guess they are guilty of being funny. My husband and I are able to share the Doner basket with falafel and fills us up perfectly. My daughter who is a choosy eater loves the pita and hummus and fries, but what 7 year old wouldn't love fried food. She loves being able to play card games or connect 4 while waiting for the food! It makes eating dinner a little bit more enjoyable. Spitz is definitely in our rotation of "Whats for Dinner?" nights. read more

Sweet Potato Fries and Doners - what more could you possibly want? Tip: ALWAYS ask for extra garlic aioli dip (It's SO good and you will pretty much lick the container clean!) The food is amazing, the flavored waters are delicious, the drink options are endless and the atmosphere is killer.
