Our servers David & the young lady got the orders & the food out quickly. Now for the food. I'm very finicky about pizza- wow! Was I impressed!!! I ordered a lunch special- pizza & a salad- I chose Grilled Eggplant on it. It was So good!!! Caesar salad was also good. In addition- I ordered baked clams. Came with a piece of bread in the oreganata. Sorry- no pic. Also we were given lots of garlic rolls! They were amazing!!! Couldn't resist the smell of garlic!!! Judging by the crowd that was eating dinner and waiting for tables at Mario's, I expected the food and service to be excellent. And they both were! Reservations are a must, especially on the weekend in season. We went to Mario's with friends who dine here often. I now understand why they rave about it. Our friends shared a shrimp parmesan entree, and they took home a good-sized portion. I never heard of shrimp parm, but it looked and tasted delicious. My wife and I each had the chicken parmesan. Again, portion sizes were so large that we each took half of ours home for another meal. The chicken was tender, the sauce was tasty and pasta was excellent. Perhaps we didn't eat very much of our entrees because we gorged ourselves on the warm, yummy rolls. The assortment included soft breadsticks in addition to garlic and plain rolls. True comfort food! Our server was excellent. She patiently took our order and politely accommodated our requests for additional sauce and garlic oil for the rolls. Mario's A long standing Boca classic with great food . I've lived here now for 28 years and I can remember waiting in line to get in to Mario's when they were in Glades Plaza. Nothing has changed except the location. Still amazing food, drinks and atmosphere... oh and yes... it's still crowded! Extensive menu with a little something for everyone. Chicken Parm is to die for and it's enough for two or take home the leftovers because it's just as good the next day. I met friends here for happy hour. It's been a while, every time I try to come early, it's so crowded but this time we got 4 seats at the high top table by the bar. It was nice. Since it's a long shared table we got to meet some nice people on both sides of us. Great deal here from 11:30 - 6. Half price drinks and food from the appetizer menu. Although I've been to many restaurants located on either side of this one, I'd never been here before nor did I know much about it. Shout out to Britt Z who told me they had a great happy hour and good food. As we were nearby, we stopped for lunch last week. We were "happy" to learn that in the bar(s)-- the outside one also -- and at the high tops near the bar--that they had half priced "happy hour" appetizers for lunch. My husband found a glass of New Zealand sauvignon blanc that he liked. And I enjoyed my iced tea. They brought out a mix of garlic and plain rolls to the table along with butter. We decided to choose 3 different appetizers and share. We had their baked stuffed clams oreganata. They were tiny but good. And the accompanying sauce was very tasty. My husband enjoyed dipping one of the rolls in the sauce. After the clams, we had their eggplant stack. This was excellent -- and our favorite of the three we chose. Thin, perfectly cooked eggplant that was layered with cheese and a non-acidic tomato sauce. Just delicious. We also had their anchovies. If this hadn't been half price, we'd have felt the dish wasn't worth the money. But we do like anchovies -- which were served cold along with 6 marinated olives, 3 hot red peppers, 3 pieces of toasted bread, and a few celery pieces. It was our least favorite, but we still liked it -- even though we wouldn't order this again. A friend recommended this place for food and Happy Hour lunches, (thank you Brit!) Welcoming atmosphere and prompt service we sat at a high top adjacent to the inside bar. I chose a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Whitehaven, and we decided on the short stack of Eggplant, Anchovies and Clams as our lunch dishes. We enjoyed our garlic rolls while waiting. I was quite impressed with the quality of the food. What I liked best was the fried calamari, arancini (sauce is on the outside) the spaghetti, the marinara sauce. I hate that they call their sauce gravy. Mashed potatoes, and the veal cutlet was great although my daughter ordered the regular one and pointed to it but the switched it to the bone in. We requested a booth and was seated fairly quickly. On server came right to us and She was polite and very accommodating. She made our experience and I give her 10s across the board. The food came out super quick. I had the anchovies. I was slightly disappointed at the celery. It was not fresh, but the dish was amazing without it. This was a fun meetup on a Saturday for lunch. I was conflicted between their pizza or a lunch entree. We started out with an order of garlic bread and a few Stella's while we delved into indecision. Can someone help me make sense of this? We ordered appetizers at the bar during the half-price special. We each ordered one, couldn't finish them, and asked for a box. The bartender told us that if we took the leftovers with us, we would be charged full price. My family made a reservation for 6:30 and we were seated immediately. The dining room is beautiful, but it's very loud. We were brought bread quickly after being seated and our waiter took our order soon thereafter. The bread was warm and there was a good selection between garlic bread, and plane bread. For appetizers, we ordered fried mozzarella and fried zucchini. The tomato dipping sauce was very fresh and tasty. The fried mozzarella was some of the best I've ever had. With the appetizers being so good, we were excited for our main courses, which left a lot to be desired. I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very disappointing. I wrongly assumed that the pasta would be homemade, but it was box pasta with sauce that tasted like jarred Bertolli. My dad ordered eggplant parm, which was tasty but the amount of cheese overpowered the eggplant. My niece ordered chicken soup and a cheese pizza, both of which she enjoyed. If it wasn't for the exceptional service, I would've given this review 3 stars, but our waiter had a great personality and made us laugh. I have been driving by this place for over 10 years, going to other places in the plaza and even of changs right next door- I had never been to this place for some odd reason. A friend recommended we come here for happy hour while a friend was in town. I found a spot at the long high top and sat down. Ordered a prosecco, and waited for my friends to arrive. The staff were sup attentive; the hostess wiped down the table for me to sit at the end, the bartender came and took my drink order, and another came by and made sure I was all set. Reservations were honored and all six of us were shown to our table right away, even though it was crowded at 5:30 PM on a Sunday night. My wife and I split the Tuscan Salad (without chili flakes) and the Shrimp Scampi over angel hair pasta, with a side of spinach with oil and garlic... and loved all of it. Their sauce and salad dressing worked very well for both of us and the ingredients were fresh and served hot. They put out fresh warm rolls for the table, which were good, but more like Pillsbury than Italian. Service was prompt and accommodating. It's upscale, but not wildly overpriced, and it was loud enough to make it difficult to hear someone across the same table. We left feeling we'd had a very good meal. Went for the first time, and was seated immediately. Spacious place, with very nice seating. It's loud though, the acoustics are not great in there so you have to shout to have a conversation. Food was amazing, I got the chicken piccata, other members of my party got the baked ziti Mario which was also amazing. Portions were HUGE! They don't have a kids menu. If you order a soda, it comes in a small bottle and we didn't get offered refills and I'm not sure they'd be free. My daughter's lemonade was a free refill but looked like it was a fountain beverage. Had a nice dinner last night, celebrating a birthday for my gf's aunt with her family. Very elegant feel, good ambient lighting and whatnot. It felt a little close to our neighboring tables, I would suggest waiting for a booth if you have a small enough party. I asked my server if I could order chicken parm, but with vodka sauce instead of the traditional marinara, along with an alternate order in case they couldn't. I would bet a lot of money that she never asked and just put in the other order instead. I mean, they have the vodka sauce on their menu, how difficult would it be to pour some on a chicken cutlet? They accidentally mixed up the chicken parm/veal parm orders for two others at the table, but didn't realize it and instead took one back to the kitchen to get a replacement while the other was ok with what they were served instead of waiting for it to be corrected. Literally, all they needed to do was swap the two dishes, but they didn't seem interested in hearing me say that. Besides all that, it was lovely! Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals, I ended up having chicken francese which filled me up and still had some leftovers to take home. Garlic bread was soft and warm with oil available at the table.
