I am not sure why they are Getting one star reviews. The steak is The same price here as at a Texas Roadhouse type establishment only the quality is far far better. I had a rib eye which was very lean especially for a rib eye but very flavorful. It was probably the best steak I have had in quite some time. I am so glad I gave LB One a chance. I had been going to the Library III for as long as I can remember, and I always loved it. For the longest time it was the best damn Prime Rib you could get anywhere, with great service to boot. Over the last couple of years, however, the quality took a sharp decline, the service suffered, and the restaurant itself felt kind of dusty and downright dirty. I hadn't ventured into LB One yet for fear of another round of disappointment, but I was persuaded by friends and the promise of the $19.99 Prime Rib dinner special on Sundays. We were a party of 5 and arrived at 7pm, and we were seated immediately in the corner near the lounge, giving us the perfect amount of privacy while still feeling connected to the action. I was pleasantly surprised to see much of the decor had stayed the same, absent the majority of the old, dusty books. Also, it looked like the whole place had seen a few deep cleanings, because it smelled a lot fresher and felt more welcoming. I also loved that the ordering process stayed the same, because I always liked being able to walk over and order my cut directly from the kitchen. After ordering, we helped ourselves to the salad bar as well as some bread and a soft white cheese (if I had to guess would say it's Havarti) to carve slices from. I was feeling particularly ravenous, so I also went with a French onion soup, which Hubby and I ended up sharing. It was a very well put together soup - properly seasoned broth with plenty of caramelized onion pieces, melty but not burnt cheese, and of course the delicious bread under the cheese. But, we all know who the star here is, and boy was it ever. When the Prime Rib came out, it was absolutely humongous, tender and cooked to absolute fucking perfection. It was basically meat-flavored butter, and everyone else at the table agreed. The sweet potato I ordered with it came with a side of cinnamon sugar butter. I prefer regular butter with my baked sweet potato, but if that's your thang, go for it. You can also ask for a side of au jus (which I tried, but it was definitely not needed) or horseradish sauce (next time, for sure). We also received a dessert with the special, so I tried the chocolate lava cake that was beautifully moist and decadent. Everyone else had the cheesecake, which I tasted and found to also be delicious and very authentic-tasting New York style cheesecake. Our server, Summer, was also very helpful, polite and prompt without feeling the least bit overbearing. Our meal had the proper pace and we never felt rushed nor held up. Well done! If you want to get out of AC and find some where low key LB ONE is the place to go it's right outside of Atlantic City. This used to be the Library III and they converted it to a steakhouse. It's not what you expect when you walk in, you're greeted with a friendly staff and once you're seated you go to the kitchen and order your steak cut by the ounce or seafood which is regionally caught. I went with the grilled rib eye ($24.95) (comes with free dessert)and tried the rib eye ($24.95) and thought the rib eye was more tasteful. Once you order through the chefs you then go to the salad bar and bread bar and find your way back to your seat and the steaks will land eventually cooked as requested. The place reminded me of an upscale ponderosa. The steaks are not aged so it's not as flavorful compared to a steakhouse in AC but I think the experience is great and leave your worries at the door! read more

Ok first time there, and it's just weird. Ordering from culinary staff directly ... Not use to that one. We went because someone gave us an unlimited amount for a gift card. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because my filet was so good. But if they are going to be just a steakhouse they need bigger baked potatoes and knives that actually work appropriately. No apps.... What is that??? Never been to a restaurant without apps, and if nothing else I love a great app before dinner. Some people choose wine or a drink well I need my app! They did have a bread station where we loaded up, and a salad bar but that was covered in fruit flies. Again the three stars is only based on my steak. We will not be back. read more

Wow - all I can say top notch food and service..............warm and welcoming from the word go and our server was phenomenal! My husband had the sirloin cooked perfectly and I had the tasty crab cakes. The salad bar/bread station was awesome and came with every meal! No room for dessert but we did have a boneless spare rib appetizer that was out of this world, tender and smoky with a nice drizzle of zippy barbecue sauce. Our server was the kindest most wonderful person ever! She knew here way around and was totally efficient and engaging but not overbearing. We were staying in Sea Isle and decided to take ride, made reservations (glad we did!) earlier in the day and arrived at 6:00. Several other places were recommended but didn't pan out. I found LB One on the internet via Google. After speaking to Sarah on my first phone call I was impressed. I live in the Chicago area & had no idea what this place would present to my family. Kathy assured ME that everything would be fine. I just want to say my family is still talking about the service and their meal at LB One. Our reunion took place in mid-July 2015. Wonderful little gem right outside of AC. Was our first time there. Upon entering the hostess greeted us and I told her it was our first time there. She asked if we would like to sit upstairs or down so we asked what the difference was. She said upstairs you will get a server and downstairs you have to go to the window to order your meal. It reminded me of a restaurant I grew up with in Rumson called What's Your Beef where you had to place your order right at the butchers counter. So of course we chose to sit down stairs. The interior was a bit dark and was quite eclectic with books in their nooks and with some black and white movie star pictures hanging on the walls amongst other nostalgic pictures. They sat us and then told us where to go to see the menu board and to order our meal. The all you can eat salad bar and fresh bread and cheese which was all self serve was included in our meal. The butcher who was pleasant was right in the same room. All you had to do was tell him what you wanted off of the board and they cut your steak and make it to you liking. The salad bar was nicely stocked and constantly kept clean and presentable. The 3 different kinds of bread and a block of delicious cheese were all wrapped in cloth so when u cut what u wanted u didn't have to contaminate it. Our server was very funny and nice and brought us our drinks and was very attentive to our needs. The other servers were constantly filling up our water and taking our finished dishes away in a timely manner. We ordered the 10oz filets with a side of steamed broccoli. The steak was perfection in the way it was cooked and delicious! When they brought us our bill it was placed in a children's book. Ate here for the first time a few weeks ago. It was so good! I had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes. The filet was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were incredible, I'm pretty sure they were homemade. They also have a nice salad, bread and cheese bar. The only complaint I have is we had reservations for 6:30 and while there were many empty tables, we still waited and were not seated until after 7:00. Excellent experience. Went here on a Sunday night at 6p there was an hour wait (presidents weekend). The atmosphere was pleasant even though the restaurant, bar and waiting area was packed. Once seated, our service was on point and never left us wanting, the salad bar and bread bar offered an adequate amount of selection. Especially because you wouldn't want to overfill yourself before your delicious steak dinner arrives. My party all ordered the special prime rib dinner and there was not one thing poor to be said about any of it. All cooked to perfection and the sauces and sides were excellent. The special also came with desserts which were not over the top excellent but totally topped the meal off perfectly. Lettuce two slices of cucumber and two under- ripened tomatoes. The potatoes? Came in the blood from the meat so it was actually pink with no butter and no sour cream and my boyfriends? Sweet potato with no butter and brown sugar. No bread included. The bang bang chix apps was over breaded and definitely over fried hard nuggets of batter - lots of bang sauce and no chix inside and we just sat at the table wondering why we paid $80 for a meal that was so disappointing !! If you liked the Library (the steakhouse that was here before), you will love LB1. It is the same concept where you get to speak with the chef directly and order what you want. I always get the steak and crabcake and it is delicious! Your meal also comes with the salad bar, which is always well stocked with a variety of toppings to choose from. After dinner you can sit at the lounge and listen to live music with a glass of wine or a cocktail. This is one of my favorite South Jersey restaurants. The atmosphere of this place is really cozy and nice. We were looking for a good steak dinner and it was near by. We tried a few of the specialty cocktails which were very good! I also really enjoyed the concept of ordering directly from the chef, it makes it feel more personal and like you are actually going to get what you ask for! The salad bar was a nice touch although I'm sure when it gets busy it is traffic jam in that tiny area. The reason I am only giving 3 stars is because our server was not very attentive even with how quite it was the night we were there. We also unfortunately did not enjoy our steaks at all. They were cooked great but had no seasoning other then way to much soy sauce dumped on top which they seemed to do after they cooked it? They were honestly awful.. I was super disappointed because everything else was pretty good! I hope it was just a fluke and the steaks are not normally prepared like that. Let me start by saying that the service was great, which is why I felt bad saying anything to our waiter while we were there. My mom, sister, niece and I came for dinner tonight. My mom got a large filet, my sister got filet and crab cake, and I got surf and turf. Our filets were all great, as was my sisters crab cake, salads, drinks, dessert, etc. however, the lobster tail in my surf and turf was terrible. It was so mushy that I was using my fork to smush it and it looked like mashed potatoes. I ate about half of it in hopes that certain pieces would taste better but even the most 'tender' pieces were mushy. I as well as my fiancé work in a seafood restaurant and know that a mushy lobster tail likely means that it wasn't fresh and was dead before it was cooked/frozen. I am just hoping that I do not get sick. I will likely be back, but will definitely avoid their seafood and stick with what they are known for, steak. read more
